This is one of the best art videos I've seen. I have actually learned a lot about construction where i didn't understand it really at first. This video will definitely help me improve so much. THANK YOU!
when i saw your video i thought i was in med school; make you a good coroner; amazing details of your designs; so useful and enjoyable to learn with you; I am really impressed with your talent. I learned a lot of names of bones, the structure of the bones, everything is done neatly, clearly explained. AMAZING.
They just want to make it more difficult to discouraged you. Get a geometry book and an anatomy book, practice, practice, practice make perfect. Don't listen to them.
thank you so much! as an artist who loves to draw realism, i will practice and teach myself how to draw properly by using your procedures! thank you for making this video
I think this is the most professional level art video I have ever seen. A lots of good information and wonderful skills to back it up. With this one lesson I learnt more than in all those years in school. Subbed.
Thanks for making this course video and sharing it for free on the channel. This man has clearly gone through proper training and is kind enough to share it with us for free. I'm a big fan of head structure and analysis (like Andrew Loomis and Frank Reilly methods) but this was unique and amazing in its own way :()
Anatomical knowledge does not have to be down to the smallest detail. All you need to draw constructively is the knowledge of how the anatomy influences and shapes the structure of things, from the head as shown here, to the foot. You don’t need to stress yourself in any part of it, just understand its place and application.
@@crisvis8905 yes Exactly...I am doing the same thing you told these days! There is no academic is needed to be creative, It's just flowing to you when you passionately involved in Art.
Whether you want to learn this or not is going to depend on your interest , if you plan to be an artist this is a must and cannot be ignored (as many people say). On the other hand, if you just want to draw for fun you are free not to learn anatomy, but that is going to mark the boundary between an amateur drawing and a student/professional, not counting the fact that you'll be limited by the severe lack of knowledge in the field. You may get away without knowing anatomy if you decide to be a landscape painters, but there's no chance you'll do the same in the figurative arts
Lol, fr. However, he's teaching like you don't already know it so it's an info dump. If you are drawing in this style (constructive), you would have already practiced anatomy and skeletal work for almost a full 2 years (AFTER you practice a bunch of other fundamentals for years) before you even get to this point and it wouldn't take as long (like 10 mins for the head). Drawing the human form is one of the latter concentrations in constructive art, close to when a student is about to graduate. Contemporary art is mostly better if you're just doing art as a quick hobby because you're not trying to draw like Michelangelo, lol. And there's plenty of those videos on YT that are pretty useful for contempt art.
Get an iPad and the Procreate app, you can all mistakes as many times as you want. For all I care, you can still draw by edging drawing on stones with sharp objects just like in pre-historic times. Drawing should be fun - not a chore.
God I love you you broke this down so succinctly I've been trying to practise the human face for weeks and it's been like chipping away at a brick wall but the way you explained it just... clicked! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the amount of useful information just in one video is tremendous! so much info about crucial landmarks and fundamental rules! it just insane! yes, there are lot of videos over the internet about face construction and planes, but there are very few of them with such depth of explanation! thank you very much!!
This brilliant video was the one that convinced me to enrol in the Academy. And I am so pleased I took that step. Almost immediately I could see improvement in my drawings. Thank you Vladimir London.
I’ve been an RN for over 30 yrs. This instructional video took me right back to my Anatomy / Physiology classes which I loved!! Excellent easy explanations and beautiful diagrams. Thank you, this has greatly help with my drawings, paintings of portraits classes!!
Not sure how I got to this video but it’s rather fascinating. Great ability and talent, sir! If I were trying to learn to draw. I would’ve given up in the first minute.
Love this. For me it works better than Loomis or Reilly. I'm a registered nurse and can really see this. I will be applying this in my drawing, maybe streamlining it for myself. But it will help to do some pics of skulls, etc, to practice.
Hello, I'm watching from Thailand. It's really nice and really interesting. I love drawing black and white picture. Thogh my drawings are not bad at all but I don't know how draw it systematically. From your demonstration here now I can learn how to the measure of the portion of the face.
Captivating, as odd as that sounds, almost hypnotic with your relaxed motor rhythm and calm clear voice. How much we don't see because we don't look! Very helpful -- I shall look forward to working with the video.
Thank you for your free video. It has been a long time since I did this and I look forward to getting back into it. I would like to take the full course but am not able to do so right now. Maybe after the end of January if it is still offered.

Your so underrated! I may draw cartoons, but this is so helpful for other people! Never stop Leonardo da vinci.

I can't believe we have to do all this just to draw a circle

Incredible video! I can only imagine how many years it took you to work so safely with your pencils, not to mention all of your anatomical knowledge!
A lot
This video is exactly what I needed, i.e. not mere parts of the skull, but their correlation with actual facial features. Thank you so mush, Vladimir!
This was so perfectly demonstrated and communicated in every way possible.

You don't have to do this. A lot of hobbyist just do sight drawing from photos, or imaginative stylistic illustrations. Do what makes you happy.
