Hi Bradwynn. I’m going on 58 and I have always wanted to sketch. I eventually learned some photography and over the years would take a stab at doodling a tiny head or two. They always looked amazing, like little caricatures with their unique features and personalities. Then in May 2018 I had a stroke and lost all my dexterity in my right hand. I had to learn to feed myself, and traced the alphabet off dollar tree workbooks for preschool children. I learned to pull items hurried in play-doh, and flip mouthwash cups and eventually I was able to snap my fingers on that hand and ignite a fireplace lighter. These were milestones for me. I’ve come a ways since then, at least with my dexterity problems and want to finally make my dream of sketching come true. And after watching many artists on TH-cam I’ve decided to follow your teachings and tutorials. Your style of teaching is so relaxed and down to earth and never boring or stuffy. I agree you are amazing and refreshingly humble. Thank you for your service to the art world. Ima believer. Hope your mom is better. Godspeed!
im trying to get back into drawing again after many years on and off. i follow your tutorials and find them so helpful because i struggle with fundamentals and anatomy. thank you for these uploads.
This method is so cool. It seems intimidating at first but it is easy to understand and guide you in the structure of the face. Accompanied with anatomical references it is unsurpassed.
Hi Bradwynn, I'm now bored with painting landscapes & want to get into figure work. Thanks so much for this demo on how to accurately sketch the planes of the head. It makes so much more sense than how I was originally taught. You are great in explaining the reasoning involved which only makes this method more understandable. Thanks so much for sharing & I look forward to more of your demos.
Thank you Bradwyn I just came across your channel have been looking thru. Different channel for a simple way to sketch the face. I must tell you , you have explained in such a simple way . Thank you. At age of58 to Sketch is my new passion. Namaste
As usual Bradwynn you are amazing man. So many nuances you explain so well. I have drawn this view thousands of times and it is strange what you bring out that really helps me dial it in. Would love to see a 3/4 view and focus on the eye placement with the Reilly method. Keep up the great work
It has always amazed me how proportions of the Human Body flow together with the Face, the body, as well as our Limbs. I think OUR Creator, in a way, kept it simple, on the outside! However, inside is where it gets pretty gnarly!! Thank You Bradwynn for all your hard work uploading your videos and helping me become a more proportionate and better artist. We NEVER STOP LEARNING. NYC loves you, brother!🤟 PS..Got my eyes on that Red Hoodie 👀
Thanks for watching man! Anatomy study is so humbling. Human body is an amazing machine and learning never ends! I'll wear the red hoodie in the next video! My favorite to draw or study in. lol Thanks again brother! I miss NYC! I gotta make another trip soon
Thank you for this very thorough explanation of doing the basic head shape. You’re ability to communicate what you are doing and me being able to understand what you were doing and why was very cohesive.
Thank you so glad I find a a teacher that can explain the dimensions and the depth of the face it is so complicated but you make it easy for me to understand thank you
What I would like to say Bradwynn, bloody beautiful. I have watched many tutorials on this subject & haven't found anything to better yours. I have just subscribed. Many thanks, Jim Dean down under NZ.
Hello Bradwynn: Thank you for a very educational tutorial. Your techniques are unique and more realistic that gives a lot of flexibility to adjust the face with the subject's features. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I liked your video and commentary during the sketching. Keep up my friend.
It's really so great. Would love to see a 3/4 and a side view in the same way/ introduction. Or it is possible that you did it allready but only for your patreons?
Ohhhh at last! It's the first time I see a usefull Loomis method and actually learn how to implement it. Suddenly I can see the "rythem" in my sketching . Wow! Your breakdowns are just amazing . So explanatory. Thank you alot.
@BRADWYNN JONES I see that from your brow line to the bottom of the sphere is in 4 equal parts. And you get your nose by 1 part up. But my teacher has been teaching to use thirds for everything. So from my brow line to the bottom of the sphere i divide that into 3 parts. Which makes my features abit smaller to yours. Which is the correct way? Have I been doing it wrong this whole time? So confused…
Glad to see you're back man! Is your patreon still active/you still post there? Was one of the first to sign up when it came on line, but covid made things very difficulty for me...
I love this approach. However, I wonder if there’s a point to drawing the circle right at the start. It’s seem that everything could get done without that circle. Just create an arc for top of head at the end instead maybe.

So many variations of this online. Yet this is has been the number one that has proven over and over to be to a T on point.

im confused ,at some tutorials they say distance between eye and nose equals nose and chin, but with you it is eybrows??
Her şey için teşekkürler!
thanks!
what is the difference between the sizes of the circle when drawing children? is it still 3/4?
Muy Claro !!!!
Gracias
Fantástico ,me gustaria un video dedicado a técnicas de sombrear y de anatomía del cuerpo humano seria genial .
Eres mi profesor de dibujos favorito .saludos desde perú😊
Very helpful.👌

He's doing this to show the fundamentals. I'm sure he can do drawings without doing the circle.
Hey the link for the shirt is not working
NICE ONE
5:27
nice.
Thankyou soo much!
I don´t understand how you determine the distance chin to eyebrow. It seems kinda vague to me. HELP!
Cutting off the sides of the circle, what is the ratio of the sides to the center? It seems arbitrary.
Excellent!
Bro, where are those store links at? Trying to score one of those sweet Riley rhythm shirts, but I don't see any links except to your patreon page.
Oh man thanks for the heads up on that fail! lol Here is the link...
