These fees amaze me in the US. The person that goes to the real estate office and asked them to sell their house are responsible for the realtor fees because that person is asking for help !!!not the buyer so that's odd to me.! Also a notary fee notary 9,500 That is highway robbery. These fees are outrageous if that's how it is in France. I'm sure it is hard to sell home if that's how it always is for the buyer.??? 😮😕
Yes it is the same in the UK but not in France. It is very easy to sell houses here because they represent fantastic value. We have written an article on why houses are so cheap in this region of France over on our website www.suzanneinfrance.com We have British nationals undeterred by Brexit (previously they required no visa to live here) moving from the UK because the cost of housing is so expensive. So yes, on the face of it it looks expensive regarding fees but there is no comparison in terms of value for money. In terms of our fees that the buyer pays, we do not just hand the keys over upon completion we help with everything afterwards as we do the vendor. France is built on socialist values and many people move and buy houses here for the excellent affordable health care, way of life, public services etc. I hope this gives you a little understanding on the structure.
