Great video! Did you use a nd filter shoot outside? Seems like you were able to shoot in harsh light without clipping. I seem to have trouble using custom white balance with my nd filter. Any pointers?

Hello, Yes I shot with an ND filter and AWB which took care of any shifts. If you're using cheaper nd filters I'd recommend sticking with fixed instead of variable nd filters to minimize color shift since it's less glass! If you're looking for a good balance of quality and price, you should look at a Hoya fixed ND filter and work with that. Fixed ND means you might not be able to shoot wide open but it helps keep exposure in check and to not have to close down the aperture so much.

Nice tutorial! Do you like the Panasonic S5?

Thanks, I haven't used it much yet but it's similar to the S1H I had before. Still getting the hang of using the video autofocus which I'm not sure I've properly worked out yet. When I was shooting this I wasn't really sure what the AF was doing and whether things were in focus! It seemed ok in the end though

Its a little worrisome that Dehancer only has V-LogL, not "full" V-Log. V-LogL is a truncated version of V-Log, designed for the lower DR of their older m4/3 cams. I would worry that using it might be throwing away some info at the top and bottom.

It might worth asking @Dehancer directly. From my experience, I didn't see any issues with losing dynamic range when grading with Dehancer vs outside of it. At the same time I didn't set out to test that. This was their announcement blog.dehancer.com/2023/04/24/meet-new-camera-profile/
