  • Valve Steam has an optional survey that takes in computer information anonymously meant to get an idea of what hardware gamers and other users have. In this video I look over that information and give my opinion on the state of the PC hardware industry.
    Check it out for yourself here:

    Weird tho. I consider AMD card being a good price/performance compared to the overpriced NVIDIA cards. They dont reach the power of NVIDIA but they are good for the price.

      Weird tho. it’s almost like what you consider to be reality doesn’t matter, isn’t that crazy how your personal opinion on a situation doesn’t have any influence on the reality of the situation?

      @@flankman9385 The reality is Nvidia has decades of mindshare, and influence in the industry that isn't going to be broken anytime soon even if AMD sold cards below their profit margin.

      🤔 Maybe, but I personally think there is more to it. I think they had a big opportunity with Nvidia's lack of effort in 40 series but haven't capitalized on it amazingly well. Though the 7700xt, 7800xt, and GRE are probably one of the best deals right now.

      Not really that suprising. The price difference wasnt that big for awhile and the NVIDIA was worth the slight premium. I bought NVIDIA because I play 4K and without DLSS it would be a nightmare

    40 series wasn't enough of a bump in performance in my opinion for a lot of 30 series owners to upgrade, especially with how expensive the cards have gotten. I know a lot more professionals who upgraded specifically to 4080's and 4090's than I do gamers who had 20 and 30 series cards and quite a few who moved to AMD.

    • @TECHiSuppose
      @TECHiSuppose  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Very true, 30 series finally got appealing after all of the shortages and scalping. The hype and desire for GPUs back then was nuts but increased that generation's market share.
      I wanted AV1 hardware encode/decode which is really the main reason why I went current gen. (Plus the 4060 is surprisingly efficient and I like quiet cool running stuff)

    Win 7 is totally fine. I have to use win 10 on the work PC, but my main PC is still win 7 and will stay that way as long as possible. No security issues, and I almost never have to update the adblocking stack for youtube.

      Looks like it. They haven't had as much time on the market so maybe that's part of it as well, but there is already rumor talk of the 5000 series. At least in the USA part of it could be the recent economic downturn and inflation making 4000 series too expensive for many.

      i was surprised how little representation AMD has. I own a 6700 xt and the thing is a beast, i think around 35% faster than a 3060 for gaming but for AI stuff, it certainly is butt cheeks vs 3060 12 gb.

    the real issue is that Nvidia invents or buys something new then spends endless cash helping game devs adopt it as a new standard thing for all their games then refuses to license it out to other manufacturers like an actual standard should be licensed. so when it comes time to buy a new card people have to choose between having all the technologies now pretty much standard in all games or not or maybe some less effective imitation.

    • @TECHiSuppose
      @TECHiSuppose  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, that's one factor for sure. DLSS vs. competing technologies at least so far it's often a higher quality result. Based on tests I've seen early on Nvidia and Intel's AV1 hardware encoding was higher quality for a given bitrate compared to AMD, but AMD did update it and claimed a quality improvement so not sure on its current state.
      Same situation for performance vs. power use which I factored in when considering the RTX 4060 versus an RX 7600.
      At least at the time the RX 7600 had the same drawbacks as the 4060 like being only PCI-E 8x and having 8GB of VRAM but nothing better at a $30 difference. Not enough of a price difference for me to go AMD. Had AMD done something like more VRAM or literally anything to make it more appealing than ~$30 I would have considered it.

  • @HecarimSama
    @HecarimSama 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

    To recommend AMD to make their cards more appealing is crazy because it beats Nvidia in price to performance, the software is amazing and friendly to new commers and depending on the manufacture very cool looking cards. People have been force fed lies these last 3-4 years saying nothing good and continuing the age-old stigma of AMD. I went from a 1650 super to a rx6600 to now my current rx7900xt. Guys wake up Nvidia doesn't care about the gamers they never did and now with fsr 3.1 which can be used on older AMD and Nvidia cards, (keep in mind dlss doesnt work for older cards just to force you to pay for their newer hardware) what's the point of paying extra for raytracing when you got to use dlss to get somewhat of a decent performance to use it. On paper in raw rasterization performance AMD is the choice to go. We need to rid AMD of that old old old stigma.

    • @HecarimSama
      @HecarimSama 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TECHiSuppose 100% But you also gotta look at the era in which they were introduced and which played a huge factor in why their market share is so big plus AMD had a really rocky start for a while. But they aren't what they used to be for a very long time.

    If it comes to AMD GPUs it's not the price. It's the people who buy GPUs. Horror stories about AMD that are not even true or no different from Nvidia problems make them artificially less appealing.
