- How long would it take to find every single shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Red Blue and Yellow?
Shiny Pokémon are incredibly rare creatures and some people have never encountered one during their lifetime.
In this video, we'll find out how long it would take to catch every single shiny Pokémon in this impossible challenge in Generation I.

I'm surprised that the DVs of traded Pokemon aren't fixed, but on the other hand I shouldn't be surprised at gen 1 weirdness, I love it.
Yeah! My favorite niche oddity I found out about recently is say you want to make a level 10 team for the crystal battle tower or even the level 5 cup in pokemon staduim 2 you can battle 1 or 2 unown, or other low level wild pokemon, then place the level 5 your training or level 10 in the day care before it levels up and you will lose the exp but gain the stat exp. At level 10 this actually gives you noticeable stat increases with a number of battles that would land you around 20-25 or so. So you can have crazy stats! Its less notable at level 5 but still a thing.
Also note that in crystal any pokemon you obtain on that file will have a met location and a met level. This is a nice treat for figuring out if something was captured at full odds or just bred. With crystal having no RNG manipulation this makes these shinies PKHEX only, and more satisfying to discover on cartridge. (Coin case abuse in G/S wont have met location)
Lastly, check under leveled pokemon in crystal. There are some amazing pokemon you can find at a lower level then what they evolve at making them full odds only shinies(No 1/64 ditto breeding), and some of them can then enter battle tower brackets that they normally cant be in. Like level 10 Dragonair and Ledian. They can be repel tricked too. Route 1 you can repel trick level 6 Furret and Raticate. Route 2 Butterfree, Ledian, Noctowl, Pidgeotto. Just to name a few.
My current dream target is that level 10 Dragonair on Crystal. Route 45 super rod at only 10%. No rng abuse possible.
you should have done ur calcs with the 8192 odds ,instead of 4750 :)

@@Alienldrit is actually. Something with a 1/100 chance of happening will on average take 100 times to occur.
the average resets doesnt make any sense at all. the average is 1 in 8192. you dont take the average of the average of youtube uploads.

You have the theoretical mathematical given odds that's what they are.
Instead you take an extremely small sample size, which, if large enough, will just end up being 1/8192 anyway cause surprise surprise it's almost as if the actual average of an impossibly large sample size will match the theoretical average cause that's what the numbers actually are.

So you are ok with using Missingno glitch but not Blue Ditto glitch? You only need to shiny hunt the legendary, really.

Doing a shiny kanto living dex in Firered and Leafgreen just hunting in one game at a time, after 3 years of hunting I am at 44/151.
Trying to get a shiny is bad enough in games where it exists outright, let alone generation 1

Why not hunting for a shiny ditto only? Then you will be able to have all shinies through breeding! except legendaries

Soft resetting is probably the most boring process ever and people who do it clearly have wayyyy too much time on their hands
I do it as I'm in bed and falling asleep. I don't waste time and I have lots of shinies. Get shrekt scrub

True. The only shinies I have ever got in Pokemon games were ones I found naturally while playing the game. It is always like a "oh hey that's pretty cool" thing. I catch it and then move on. I could care less about shinies.
If your just into the gen you grew up with or the older gens like 2 and 3 then if you think about it RBY only have 5 unique targets that you cant get in GSC.
I have reset for Mew and Articuno in Yellow and got the Articuno in less then 100 resets. Mew took awhile, and you can do them all at 4x speed on Stadium 2.
If you grew up with these games and just love Pokemon I dont see why you need to be frightened about doing resets for a measly 5 targets. This is a challenge vid. I like to revisit these games and build up an amazing master save. I dont know when ill get around to Moltres or Mewtwo. It may be years. Theres no reason to go fire up a cheat device or pkhex and put all 5 into my game in a flash and then what? Admire them for 20 minutes and leave Pokemon behind me forever? I would much rather wait until the day I finally encounter one of these with a gameboy in my two hands and an authentic cart.
Theres nothing like the experience of finding the real thing. Grind it out, back up your saves.
