All Pokemon fans have been waiting for the remake of Kanto alone with top notch graphics, a complete 151 Pokemon able to be caught or found in the game, no bs with multiple versions to force players to buy 2 hardwares and 2 different copies of the same story, all this in the fashion of Zelda breath of the wild, and Game Freak are unable to deliver it nor that they seem to understand what people want. From the release of Gen 2 Pokemon games became worse and worse, not just because of the absurdity of the number of Pokemon now, but also because they were unable to deliver graphically up to the standards of todays day and age. Nobody is actually asking for all the regions, I don’t believe it, nor that I believe anyone would want the exact same story as BRY with the same quests identical to the original, but still, that’s the idea of the game we want, possibly including Johto as a post game this time around and with the 2nd Gen Pokemon if possible, otherwise just the 151 feeling as awesome as the game felt back in 96 or so, but up to todays technology and people would not only be satisfied, but Game Freak would make a sheet ton of money if they happened to cook such a game that many of my generation (I’m in my 30s) would love to rediscover this franchise that we grew up with and that gave us so much joy, creativity and dreams. If I was at Game Freak, I would require the people who made Zelda Botw to help me cook that elusive game everybody wishes to see and play. Why is Game Freak not listening ?

In the Fan-made game Pokemon Revolution Online, there are multiple Pokemon regions. Each time you go to a new region, you have to start with the local starters and can not use Pokemon caught outside the region or leave the region until you get your 8th badge. This made it so each region was fresh and new and was not subject to the power-creep.

I have to say the "x phenomenon that's the gimmick of this game only takes place in this region" thing doesn't necessarily mean the character is wrong when they say it, it's that they believe that to be the case so far. It's like how in S&V they tell you that terastrializing can only happen in Paldea, but then it's also found in two locations in the DLC. I wouldn't be surprised if it was linked to space though, a lot of the different gimmicks have ended up being ultimately linked to space/aliens. I believe it is established that ORAS takes place in a different timeline to the main series though, and therefore aren't part of the main series canon, likewise with Pokemon: Origins which showed mega evolution in Kanto, it's based off of Gen 1 but the events don't necessarily take place in the same way, such as Blue attempting to catch Mewtwo before Red, and more importantly Mr Fuji giving Red the mega evolution stone for Charizard.

It's entirely possible a Stalchild made the claw marks on the tree. As child Link they attack you at night, and if you kill enough a big one will appear, but if you keep killing them it'll get even bigger, and if I remember correctly it'll keep growing for as long it stays nighttime, so if you hack or cheat the game to stay night I think it'll grow infinitely

Tbh at this point I'd like a sequel game, like Black and White 2. Reuse a region, but tell a different story/adventure. Maybe a Sinnoh sequel with Dawn/Lucas as a professor. Or maybe a Kanto prequel with Prof. Oak/Agatha as the player/rival characters, and you get to travel from Kanto to Johto.

I so many memories playing stadium with my older sister when i was kid when she and her boyfriend stayed with me and mom while they looked for a place to live. She knew more about pokemon the i did at the time so she'd coach me through the battles to try and help me win. But most of our time was spent in the kids club where honestly we got the most competitive. When she and her boyfriend found a place to live she gave me her copy of pokemon red so that could try and beat the cups with stronger teams. I still have both carts to this day.

If anyone is interested in going through the older mainline 2D Pokemon games but online with friends and people, the ability to chat, trade, join a team (kind of like a simplifed guild) and more then check out Pokemmo.

The fact that we couldn't travel to other regions was one of the reasons I stopped playing Pokemon games after finishing my copy of Ruby, It wasn't until X and Y that a friend of mine pushed me back to Pokemon games.

hypno loosely reminds me of bäckahästen(riverhorse translated) and näcken, two creatures from swedish mythology that hypnotizes you in two different ways, one is a white horse that hypnotizes you to hold onto it even when it jumps into a pond. and näcken hypnotizes you with music making people go into the water and d own willingly. phantump is probably based on a myling another creature from swedish mythology.

Blue probably either stored his Raticate in the PC permanently or released it, it didn’t necessarily die. Probably figured it didn’t serve his purposes on the team. Just saying, I’ve shelved a lot of Pokémon in the PC permanently or temporarily, doesn’t mean they died. He probably just waited for you in the tower because he thought it was a scary location or something, you know how kids are.

i would just like a game with two regions again. i don’t need 9 regions in one game. 3 would be overwhelming assuming they don’t scale any of it down. it could even be two new regions and that’s the difference between versions, which region you start from. i just want to fight more than 8 gyms again. gym battles have always been my favorite part (apart from contests, specifically from ruby and sapphire, not emerald or later, where you had to travel around like gyms in a specific order to do them) and being able to fight 16 gym battles was my favorite part of gen 2. i usually don’t care for the story, i just want gym battles.

This Game is such a Gem for me, so much new stuffed tried and I enjoyed so much. I'm still sad no more Colosseum Games was never released.

Fun Fact: This game is super easy if you don't bother using any Pokemon beyond Umbreon and Espeon. There's a retroachievement set for that challenge, and I did it thinking it'd be a problem and you just steamroll virtually everything. The final boss takes a little grinding, but still less than what I had to put in beating it the intended way years back.

I don't care about the regions, I just want all the Pokémon catchable in one modern game. No version limitations, no trading requirements, no event limitations... Just the whole national dex, all available to catch somewhere, somehow. Make some of them super rare, lock some of them behind convoluted puzzles, whatever. I just want to be able to buy my copy of a new Pokémon game, sit down and play on my own, and without any additional requirements actually do the thing in the slogan - catch 'em all.

I think they should add the announcer to the mainline games, if you're battling in a place likely to be televised or broadcast to a wide audience in the game's universe, like during a gym leader elite four battle. Different stadiums/venues/in-universe networks could perhaps have different announcer voices and personalities.

I always hated the idea that you couldn't go to previous regions. I always thought they needed some type of extension that would basically convert your account into any other region. Like someone made the game genie. How hard would it be to create a version that just acted as a bridge between the different regions? Plug the device into the gameboy, put the cartridge of your main game into the device, then upload your account into the device. Then switch out the cartridge in the device for the version of pokemon that you want to play. It then acts like the file on the device is the save file of that version of pokemon, except only the pokemon available in that region are allowed, and the save file on the cartridge dictates what has been done in that region. Easy enough to explain that they limit what pokemon can be in each region due to not wanting to introduce non-native pokemon to those regions. So you can play that region now, but with your pokemon from the previous region, and when you save it just saves the information about the player and their pokemon on the device, and information about the status of what has been done in the region on the cartridge save file. So if you want a fresh start it's easy and you just wipe the save file on the cartridge and don't use your previous pokemon, but you continue to get those pokemon on one main save file. From a money perspective it also makes a ton of sense. When you release a new version of pokemon then you release an updated version of the device you are using since it needs background code to handle all the new pokemon and such. You put the new version in your gameboy, plug in the older version of the device, and copy your save file to the newer version. Basically the entire time the entire device is only housing a single save file and the information about how to allow that save file to interact with each version of Pokemon. Also would be super useful if you want to create a backup of your save file, you just need an extra device that you backup the save file on. Sure not everyone would use it. But I imagine the coding would be super easy. And honestly I would have paid as much for such a device as I would have paid for the gameboy itself, although at that price I wouldn't have gotten it each time. If it was priced the same as a game I probably would have updated each time, I was buying every version anyway and sometimes even bought a couple of the same version so that I could replay without deleting my old save file.

Genius Sonority did so much better than Game Freak. Pokemon was slowly rising until they decided to release trash minecraft looking DS games with atrocious sprites and graphics. Even the GBA sprites looked so much better than the time they were releasing DS games. That's a shame because it was years AFTER Colosseum and XD Gale of Dakness were released.
