Nice video I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out the issue, I was tripping when it wouldn't start ,because I was delivering instacart! Great bypass method, Thanks Bro
I'm getting a similar click noise. I tried the screw driver trick to jump it to start but it does nothing. No noise even. Think it's my starter solenoid?
My truck will start with bypassing the solenoid but after changing it for a new one i still only can start with bypassing. Any suggestions? I'm thinking keyswitch...
Ok , most of the time it is the starter relay ! Right now I have the same problem but it’s not the starter relay because I have changed it twice. The only thing left is the ignition switch to check
@@DoctorBerb im having a problem where my alternator isnt charging my battery. New alternator. New battery. Checked the fuses. Even changed some of the wiring assembly and yet no charge.. no battery light on the cluster either. Its as if my alternator is sending piwer somewhere else or it isnt working at all. I just dont know what to do anymore..
Can anyone please help me out I have a problem that I just don't understand I'm trying to put a starter back into my 2000 Ford F150 6 cylinder it will not go back in because there is a part of the engine block that is in the way keeping me from going back in there is no way possible to just order is going to go in just 6 cylinder motor now this motor has been changed out it was bought at auction but supposedly a new motor put in replace in Motors is ridgeley in this truck with a 4.2 6 is there another 6 cylinder that goes into making this problem I really don't know much about fours but I have a very serious problem that I just don't understand if anybody can help me please I would thank you very much
So I tried to bypass that relay but it doesn't start for me I just still get the one click... What could the issuse be?? I have a new starter new alternator and new battery
Wiring to the starter could be bad, make sure you’re getting 12v at the starter when the relay is made. Could also be a bad starter. You can remove your starter and hard wire it or take it to an auto parts store to have it checked
@@DoctorBerb Took my truck to a shop. They told me a cable end terminal at the starter was corroded/rusted out/broken and that they did an AVR test (for $65 - not requested as I had told them I had charged and tested the battery and swapped out the starter relay so "check fuse, cable, starter"), located and replaced the terminal end for $97, charged me $3.50 for environmental handling, and....charged me $16 for shop supplies (must have used three cans and a hole pack of wipes for that one end)...total bill just over $202...WTF.
Indiana norcom Airsoft ....any luck?? Im having the same issue my tuck starts once i touch both Solenoid terminals but when i try a regular start up i just clicks and wont start. Please let me knoe if you figured it out.
Hello, your key/ignition has 3 positions. When you insert it, you can turn it forward once and it will click (that’s is the first position), turn it forward one more time (which is the #2 and run position), and the third is if you turn it forward to start it. So you’ll turn it to the position right before it tries to start. This will power the system without running the engine
This right here. A solenoid can be a relay. It’s acting as one here. The part name is “starter solenoid” for anyone the needs one. Using the word Relay can confuse people.
Ty for it but U went to fast right where I needed to see a certain wire abd kno right where it should be cause directions say different but yours makes sense. I could of sworn it came off backwards but auto place said do it as saud on paper but don't make sense. Your vid did help till u speed it up. Then I got lost. But ty
Hi Jay, can you start the truck by jumping the starter relay as in the video? If so, that relay might be bad. If not, there’s another solenoid on the starter itself as well as the wiring in between that may be loose or corroded
Actually when you short the two studs with a conductor such as the wrench in the video, you are in fact bypassing the relay contact. You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
@@chopstickbarrs9681 Check your wiring for breaks and corrosion and rust on the terminals, check the solenoid on the starter itself, then if those are all good, check the starter. Could be a few things. This video was only intended to bypass the relay that comes from the start signal so try checking those other things as well
Perfect video, short and to the point. I hate 20 minute videos that are 90% talking, just for a 10 minute fix
Great video. Didn't do alot of unnecessary talking. Straight to the point. I like that.

Amazing how a $15 part can make such a difference. Glad it helped!
Thx for the video!!! It saved me so much time stress and money!!!
Very appreciated 🙏
Super awesome video. I think I have that issue. Will try tomorrow and see what happens. Thank you. JC
Hope it works for you
One questions when I do the test the start the truck, do I do it with the ignition with on?
Yes, in position 2, the same position it’s typically in when the engine is running
What if you do that and does not start? Could starter relay be bad?
Thanks man helped me out this morning
I'm getting a similar click noise. I tried the screw driver trick to jump it to start but it does nothing. No noise even. Think it's my starter solenoid?
It’s has to be your starter

Where did u get the part from
Ok , most of the time it is the starter relay ! Right now I have the same problem but it’s not the starter relay because I have changed it twice. The only thing left is the ignition switch to check
What’s the name of the part that unbolts from and to it ? That looks like a Y
I’m not sure if it has an actual name. It’s a part of the wiring harness
Can this thin cause my alternator to not charge my batteru?
Hello, if done properly with functioning components, no, this should not affect any other systems

I have a new starter new alternator and new battery
From what I’ve encountered it could be a seized engine and it’s most likely if it has many miles
did the same as you except I still get the single click...bendix stuck or starter shot?

Check your wiring for loose connections or breaks as well as corrosion on terminals

Is it safe to put a wrench to jump it?
Yeah it's just 12v. But I'd still wear a glove or use a screwdriver
What do you mean by the number two run mode?
Hello, your key/ignition has 3 positions. I thought relays were next to the fuses. I'm pretty sure what you are replacing is a solenoid

My truck won’t crank. Battery is fine. Never had a problem. It sounds like it’s coming from fuse box, a clicking noise? I know nothing about a Ford!

Will not jump off. I’ll try what you said. Clicking is coming from the fuse box under the hood on right side.
