  • Hampi Vijaya Vitthala ವಿಜಯ ವಿಠ್ಠಲ Temple Musical pillars Mantapa Stone Chariot ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ರಥ Hampi tourism. Karnataka Tourism, temples of Karnataka, ancient Indian temple. UNESCO World heritage site. Vittala Temple or Vitthala Temple in Hampi is located in the northeastern part of Hampi, near the banks of the Tungabhadra River. The renowned Vittala Temple dates back to the 15th century. It was built during the reign of King Devaraya II (1422 - 1446 A.D)The Vittala Temple is also known as Shri Vijaya Vitthala Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Vitthala, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. An idol of Vitthala-Vishnu was enshrined in the temple. The Vittala temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture.
    Stone Chariot: The Vittala Temple Complex has a richly sculpted Stone Chariot, which is considered to be the most stunning architecture of the Vijayanagara kingdom. The Stone Chariot or Ratha stands in the courtyard of the temple. It is one of the three famous stone chariots in India. The other two chariots are situated in Konark (Odissa) and Mahabalipuram (Tamil Nadu).
    The Stone Chariot of Vittala Temple is actually a shrine that has been designed in the shape of an ornamental chariot. The shrine is dedicated to Garuda and has an image of Garuda enshrined in the sanctum. As per Hindu mythology, Garuda is the carrier of Lord Vishnu.
    The Musical Pillars of the Ranga Mantapa is renowned for its 56 musical pillars. These musical pillars are also known as SAREGAMA pillars, indicating the musical notes emitted by them. The musical notes emanate when the pillars are tapped gently.

    When I visited this temple last year, I spent more than 2 hours without realising the time. I didn't feel like go out until sunset. It is magnificent even today despite no idol. Just imagine how it would have been during empire rule with Deepa, Dancers, Horses & Elephants, Traders, Cultural activities.. OMG.. it is upto individual imagination.

    I wasn't born or native to Karnataka , but I am proud and I would take my responsibility of not destroying our pride by any means and as for myself , and as for others if they took their sole responsibility of protecting then they could save our heritage . Not only this temple , but only through guide we came to know this much , I visit the Thanjai Periya Kovil , Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple and the temples all around Kumbakonam , all of them were amazing but astonishingly Indians weren't much knowledgeable of our history , but foreign visitors are much eager and showing their utmost interest to learn Indian history , they incharge guides , but when I thoroughly slow by slow myself visit these archaeological important sites , I came to know of them atleast a little .
    My kind plea to the guides is , as much as they could they have to take the national responsibility of making known to the commons , because in ancient time even a common folk or household , may knew their history , but nowadays they are much selfish and more importantly they are obstinate and not even love to know of the history .
    But there's still many elderly ones , youths and for children they are curious and capable of protecting our national heritage . So if the guides took their responsibility of revealing the history and dignity of our heritage , it's no much to say and ever thankful , because they may be the last of the ones to knew such greatness , but who may knew after all them ...... And if they revealve it openly atleast to the youths and children whom were much eager and to elderly ones , it is much great of protecting the present and future of our past ......
    Anyway great regards to the guide and the uploader of this video Sudheesh Kottikal .

      krishnadevaraya didnt write amukta malyada , telugu ashta digajjas were in court of venkatapati raya 2 . to prove 1 lie you have to cook hundred of lies , telugu historians should stop cooking fake stories claiming others glory , accept truth , if this continues telugu image will be spoiled in longterm .. venkatapati raya gave agraharas villages to telugu ashtadiggajjas in tippaluru village cudappah district of andrapradesh in 1605ad inscriptions are available .. but kannada schoilars like vyasa teerta purandara daasa grants given in hampi kamalapura village inscriptions dates to 1516 ad by krishnadevaraya . there is no 1 evidence to prove telugu ashtadigajas were in court of krishnadevaraya .,, lakshmi kumara thatacharya was rajaguru of venkatapati raya 1603 AD , THATACHARYA HAS BUILT TEMPL;ES AND LAKES DATES TO 1608 AD .. tenali rama krishna mentions his contemprorary lakshmi kumara thatacharya and heated arguments debates with him , even thatacharyas lineage clarifies tenali rama , durjati and other telugu scholar period . tamilia historians and kannada historians records corelate eachother but telugu historians records intentionally pushes 80 years backwards . aravidu first ruler aliya ramaraya and gandikota pemmasani naidu unites with bijapur sultans they kill krishnadevaraya brother achyutadevaraya ) and the same bijapur sultans attack ramaraya in rakkasa tangadi war easy win for them.. mysore wodeyars and small kannada provinces declare independence in 1545ad they didnt accept ramaraya as king .. they mint there own currency coins ,, kempegowda and kannada palegars neighbouring chitradurga tumkur bangalore were prissoned in pennukonda by aliya ramaraya . mysore fist independent king hiriya bettada vijaya chamarajendra odeyar fought many war with aliya ramaraya and aravidu rulers and snatched strategic location and send them down to pennukonda and later chandragiri , you should have heard about talakadu alamelamma aliya ramarayas younger brother wife.. aravidu rulers broke 400year hindu empire into pieces and there foolishness gave chance to muslim rulers penetrate south , so this shamefull history 1545 ad to 1614ad telugu historians want to hide, so credits of venkatapati raya is given to krishnadevaraya , if telugus make link to krishnadevaraya they can hide 80 years shamefull history of aravidu dynasty

    Wonderful video.
    Also, I stay in pune and there is folklore and story that the idols of lord Vittala from Pandharpur were taken and established in Vijaya Vittala temple to protect it from bahamani sultans. Then after krishna devaraya gained control the idols were returned back.
    The folklore says vittala found the temple too luxurious and hence returned to his humble abode.

    • @preetipadi
      @preetipadi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The idols never came back to Hampi. In due course Krishnadevaraya rule of 20 yrs ended. The garbha sthala in temple remains empty. But Purandaradaasa who played key role in shifting idols was said to have visited Pandharpur to worship.
