I have always been an admirer of the Exquisite sail boats. Pricey, but redundant systems throughout. I wonder how it sails upwind, and in light winds….

One could say one gets you pay for. Xquisite are on the performance side of the equation and so are like good light wind performers. An underated boat.

Wing sails, mounted on a silent 80 tri deck, with two integrated kite sails, or the Vision 82 with the same setup

You say Eco, I say Ecco. In Australia where I'm from Ecco is the common way to say it.....at least in my part of the world.

I recently enquired about the Sunreef 80 ECO. Cost $11.9 mil Euro. Problems: SLOW. The hulls are so wide, and the weight of the vessel at 98ton, that its top speed under sail is around 7kn and under power.. 7.5kn This is basically a full displacement vessel with sails. No benefit rom the shape at all really. A cat that is not fast. Compare it to say, the Gunmann of the same size. The Gunmann will outpace this Sunreef with only 5 kn of wind !

Thanks for your comment. I put the Sun Reef 80 Eco in this video for its Solar Hybrid system and the integration of solar panels into structures of the boat. You're right, sailing is not it's. best feature as its hulls are indeed bulky and not good for fast sailing. But they do give good volume giving excellent interior space making it very comfortable indeed, after all it is more super yacht than world cruiser and of course the price tag reflects this. This boat would be most suited to bobbing around the Mediterranean or The Carribean acting as a giant sun pad and hosting large parties for your friends. If you want fast, get a Gunboat 68 and you might even have some change.
