    Nice. I would really prefer a hybrid solar/sail catamaran design.

      Combined with sail a hybrid system has more flexibility and infinite range. Checkout this video I made on Hybrid sailboats. th-cam.com/video/sF2YYPh5KV4/w-d-xo.html

      @@crazyaboutboats6901 This is it. In a remote area, you can found yourself without fuel, but probably never without light or wind.
      I wouldn't mind having an adaptation to use the dingy motor in an emergency, despite disproportional to the task, or even a real single motor that could be deployed under the boat for emergencies.
      I just don't think relying on fuel is that smart when we talk about sea.

    One strike of lightning and the so-called "green" energy is toast. Recycle that.

      I apologize,for a late response, I missed your comment. Yes, the loss of electrical systems would be catastrophic. Thanks for your comment.

      @@crazyaboutboats6901 The energy to make the panels and the batteries sort take the shine off.

    • @crazyaboutboats6901
      @crazyaboutboats6901  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course there is a fair amount of energy that goes into the manufacture of the panels and batteries but of course this is one off and could be seen as investment to save energy over their life of say 10 to 20 years, where as with diesel the consumption of diesel is continuous pf the life of the boat. There are questions over the viability of the extraction of the rare earths that are required for lithium batteries and I think this will become more widely discussed in the future. I believe more development is needed in the area of electric motors and batteries and hopefully these issues will be improved in the future. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment.

    It is not a boat if it exists only in computer rendering.
