    Are the retrofit glass like the OE ones? I have a 1999 SR5 model without the DTR light do I still need to cut the black and yellow wire? I have the stock headlight with LED but my fog light does not work when I flipped the switch on but it triggered my high beam. I wanna do the protector style lights on the 3rd gen 4Runner but looks odd but cool.

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The fog lights do not come with the kit as I ordered it, but rest assured that they still work. It is the day time running lights (DRLs) you need to disable. The low voltage DRL signal is bad on your kit, so you turn it off.

    Nice video! I’m trying to switch back to stock momentarily. When I remove the gold Morimoto harness, do I replace it with a stock one or leave it empty? I won’t need to power ballasts so I’m confused. I know the Morimoto harness plugs into a stock factory brown plug. But I also know behind each headlight there’s a brown plug. So just curious do I just buy stock headlights and hook them up behind each housing and they’ll turn on? Just confused since I didn’t do the install. So not sure if Morimoto hood harness replaced something. And if so...where does the other ends go if there are no ballasts/igniters anymore? Thanks in advance!

    • @BKTX
      @BKTX 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kelly, it's pretty simple. The harness comes in two parts. Join them together. There is one positive wire that goes to the battery post. 2 negatives that you'll have to dremel some metal on your desired locations and use a self tapping metal screw to secure two grounds for each projector. Each projector has a round 2 position polarity specific plug and play connector that attaches to each projector w/ a close nut that you screw on to secure. There's two molex connectors per side from the projector to the harness. Easy to figure out those. Finally there's an H4 connector that attaches to your existing DRIVERS side H4 connector. There isn't one for the passenger side (which totally threw me off---I know, dumb when you realize it). The hardest part will be to professionally route the harnesses as the battery and the airbox get in the way. For now I used a poop load of zip ties to affix them to whatever I could find. When I have more time, I'll remove the battery and airbox. Oh I also ran the large length of wiring to the wiring loom right in front of the radiator. 3 zip ties. Trust me, the wiring is one of the easier things to do on this project. The hardest? Getting out all that damn headlamp adhesive if you're building your own!
