Dateline To Catch a predator Richard Watwood interview

  • Join the discussion at www.templeoftcap.freeforums.net RM Watwood got 46 months in jail, a little shorter than the other predators, perhaps because he kept smart and refused to waive his rights. Dont feel bad about him, as he exposed himself to a minor after chatting with her for 50 minutes, instructed her how to masturbate, brought viagra and talked about how his big dick would pound her underage pussy. Read his chatlog at perverted-justice. This interview is more like a slow art movie; the opposite of the Jim Rauch cirkus. A patient mans soccer match, with the police scoring 1-0 with the consent to search, and watwood equalizing with his refusal to waive the rights. Pay attention to how different Dudinski is in this one, than in the Justin interview.

    Dudinski is masterful. But watwood watched enough law and order to defend this master class of mind fucking pretty well. This was a interesting watch.

      I learned what a caucus race was when I first read Alice in Wonderland at the age of 9. That's just one example of a piece of fictional literature inundated with mathematical and sociopolitical theory. What are you talking about, not being able to learn anything from fictional programming..? lol smh.

    The whole act with the asking of information (that they already have) and the bit with the audio recorder (the whole thing is already being recorded by the camera) is genius. The goal is to lull the detainee into a false sense of security, get them used to answering questions, get them to waive their rights, and then get them to incriminate themselves on camera.

    The exchange here is classic Southern small talk. Doesn't seem like Watwood is giving much info but actually Dudinski is brilliant in making this guy comfortable knowing exactly how to make him NOT ask for a lawyer.

      Great post. What is the difference between northern and southern small talk?

    • @skeevynicks
      @skeevynicks 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Tixx Tixx Southerners are much more personable: telling random anecdotes about their lives, offering much more personal information about themselves, their families. For example, when Dudinski is telling the story about the lady he gave wrong directions to; that's where I felt it most. It's random funny stories like that, that a Southerner will offer to anyone who'll listen. We're quite talkative with strangers. I've lived pretty much everywhere in the U.S. but am a native Southerner and that's just my personal view on it.

I recently moved back out west and My Lwad, the poeple here are so effin rude!! It's crazy... I never thought I'd say it, but I miss the South sooo much :( I couldn't figure out what it was.. if I was just goin crazy or what lol. But you hit the nail on the head.. I must have become a Genuine Southerner somewhere along the way ;)

    • @drdavidthornton
      @drdavidthornton 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was no brilliant performance by the police here for making him not ask for a lawyer.. and you can see by the entire dialogue they did not even pursue incriminating dialogue..
      This guy clearly did not ask for the lawyer simply because he had very little money and was concerned about creating any financial obligation for himself.. he was worried about his $200 in his wallet, how much it was going to cost to bail out, if he was going to have to pay money to get his car back, etc..
      Nothing about their conversation had anything to do with what he was sitting in jail for.. he never gave them any information other than demographical.. so the small talk served no purpose and accomplished nothing.. and from what I read, this guy later got off..

      I’ve been o’rested for a little hell raising, and if u didn’t do anything legitimately devious you don’t get this treatment. They like pull you in and you say: respectfully I’d like a lawyer. Then u sleep on a concrete bench until they can get you a public defender.

  • @streamsofconsciousness8651
    @streamsofconsciousness8651 8 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    "I don't waive my rights. I have nothing to say" was a great start. He actually did quite well on resisting the attempts at making a personal connection to get him talking anyway but he would still have been better shutting up after "I have nothing to say". Note the technique used at the beginning with the little tape recorder. They pretend to be using the little dictation machine to record the interview in the hope that the suspect, while the the tape machine appears to be off, will fall for talking openly and casually. In this case he very wisely pointed out that he had spotted the real camera and the real microphones that were doing the real taping. I'm surprised anybody still falls for that trick.
