I find it mind boggling how an undeveloped 13 yr old with no life experience could be found attractive by these men. I could ALMOST believe that a misguided young girl with family issues would want to be with what they think is a mature older man (that they probably unknowingly see as the father figure they need) that can “take care of them” and give them the attention that they are possibly lacking at home from their parents, and plus kids are stupid so they make decisions that aren’t good for them or are practical. It’s just so unbelievably disturbing that a grown person would ever want to try and connect with someone who has the attention span of a goldfish.
At what point does he realize he’s been charged with crimes. This guy is not very smart. He showed up to get busy with a child and he thinks giving his solemn word about the computers is going to fly.
I can't figure out what was going through his head when he was giving The Man everything they needed to "go there" Re: searching his friends house whilst insisting between sentences that they didn't need to go there. @@kystars I think we can all agree that a warning would've been the most appropriate punishment in this case. At worse, they could've made him occasionally keep in touch with someone from the KBI to make sure he's not doing anything bad.
Why isn't the interrogator willing to negotiate? At the very least, he could give JTW a recommendation letter for his college application. There's a great online program near his area in criminal justice at the University of Cincinnati.

How rude of them, after he gave a full and complete DETAILED confession along with consent to search every damned thing, to then try these charges. He pled NOT GUILTY, that means he is innocent and the case should've been closed right then and there. A warning would've been the proper response to this, and to lose the footage. He gave his word in all honesty that he would behave, and he had been clean all those years, no problems or nuthin', plus he was a former high school football star. Here in America, we don't do stuff like this to football stars just because they tried to rape a child!

Considering how scared he was with Hansen, he does a decent job keeping his composure with the police.
