Something about them; the Mad Dogs with their fighter jet looks, and the Timberwolf with its B-29 Superfortress cockpit and “Micky Mouse” missile pod ears design. And then just playing on random maps hunting down enemy mechs. Good days.
I always sense a deep urgency in the second part of this song... Like something really went wrong. A team member somebody close even family and your pushing your mech to its limits to reach the impending horror that's about to happen. Caution is giving way to a coldness a moment of clarity like angels at your back and with the fury of a thousand men laying waste to anything between your objective and yourself...this ain't about itself or the mission but making sure they will be a another mission. Oh my gosh... I feel this perfectly conveys the dread everyone feels at the sight of a Timberwolf, followed by relentless fighting it then carries out... Perfect song for my favorite Battlemech. Extremely well done sir!
The intro/build up from 0:00 to 2:25 is especially epic. Get's the blood pumping, musically. The rest of it sounds like it takes a bit from Pirate's Moon (MW3 expansion) and another favorite MW2 track for a really nice mash up. Good stuff! This track by itself sounds like it could make a great intro to the rest of the album in the way it starts and ends. :)
PIRATE MOON WAS THE HARDEST GAME. I could finish it, on EASY, but only with a strategy I considered a rort. I don’t really think a half-ton engine should be able to push an Atlas at all, let alone a slow but still usable 18 kmh. But the game let me!

I remember the mission this song played on. You had to escort a Repair Rehicle inside a valley to a damaged To Mech "a 4-legged Mech with a giant turret on top" Called a T5 Reconnaissance Unit for repairs. Then escort it and the repair vehicle back to the Friendly Drop Ship for extraction while you Fight off ad hopefully destroy all the enemy Mechs.
Eeeeyup. The "T5 Reconnaissance Unit", a Tarantula, was one of the only two Inner Sphere 'Mechs that specific game had. The other was the BattleMaster... which crashes the game if the player attempts to pilot it, as I recall.
@@TurnaboutAkamia The game had the original IS versions of the Jenner, Warhammer, and Marauder in the Kell Hound levels. I actually didn't know that the Tarantula was an IS Mech, I thought it was a Clan Wolf exclusive. You could pilot the BattleMaster, Tarantula, and elemental in the Instant action levels with a cheat, but not in the campaign.
@@jamesperkins191 I know the Kell Hounds deployed at least one Jenner, but I don't remember seeing the other two, and all of them were the Clan versions IIRC; the IS Jenner didn't get its own model or configuration until Mercenaries, and the Warhammer IIC and Marauder IIC are both Assault 'Mechs. If they did use the IS Warhammer and Marauder, both of which being Heavy 'Mechs, in the game anywhere, they both would have been underweight IICs as far as the game was concerned. And yeah, I knew that about the BattleMaster, Tarantula, and Elemental. It was cool, but the BattleMaster crashed the game if you tried to use it, so only NPCs were able to pilot it.

I remember seeing this game's CD lying around in one of dad's CD wallets growing up... but by the time I was old enough to want to play it, none of our computers were primitive enough to install it. :(
I have played mech warrior 4 when i was just 7 years old. Also played MechAssault and MechAssault 2 on the original xbox. I still get chills and get scared when i see one. No shooter or game how hard it is will ever get me the feeling of a battle between giant faceless walking tanks.
I remember when my friend got a novel where the clans 1st attacked. Their attack was so devastating that someone said something to the effect, "We're under attack by aliens!"
I was rather fond of the novel "By Blood Betrayed" about a kid who grows up to be a Mech pilot and joins the same unit his older brother had once been a member of, trying to figure out what happened to him. Turned out he had betrayed the others for the best reason of all: the other side offered to let him pilot a Timber Wolf.
2:38 onward, I just picture a lone Atlas holding the line against clan heavies in close quarters urban fighting, trying to stop them blasting an evac dropship apart. He was the one who stayed behind...
@Timothy Seals....Thank you so much for creating this. Battletech and mechwarrior was one of my favorite games of my childhood and you have done it so much justice. Including the sound bites gave me goosebumps.
To be honest "BlackElementGamin" not really. I've played and completed all of them except for the first one (wasn't old enough). MWO is actually pretty awesome. Incredibly smooth, incredibly gorgeous, pretty polished gameplay with more to come. Because MW4 had some REAL good matchmaking back in the day, right? riiiiiiiiiight. I see where the problem is.
For MWO, since it is a Free2play, they have to deal with "balance" issues. They're going to nerf clan tech so its not so "overpowered." They just care about balance. Fuck balance. Stuff in games are supposed to be powerful, so why does PG think they can balance it when they should just leave it alone?
So that it's fun for everyone? I'm sorry but last time I checked this is a GAME, not REAL WAR. I'm looking to have fun, not get stomped into oblivion. I'm looking to just MAYBE have 1 kill a match, or at least help contribute to my team.
So you come to a remix of MW2 a TRUE mechwarrior game not that "thing" you so profess to be amazing to publicize an obscenity... Show yourself to the door white knight.
This is my kind of movie music. I can imagine a movie starting with a defeat that belongs to clan invasion. A desperate Inner Sphere trying to move assets. The movie ends with the battle of Tukkayid.
Yeah. Gonna use this as part of an MWO playlist. And it is definitely gonna be my primary song when I run my Timber Wolf. It has been my favorite Mech since I read my first BattleTech book when I was 12.
Masterpiece! Listening to this music, in my head i see a picture of timberwolf/mad cat sentry in thick fog. Barely visible, almost motionless...Guarding his perimeter.
dam, that computer voice from MW2 is so bad ass. Best voice in entire franchise in my opinion. Amazingly beautiful remix btw, perfect to play when reading battle tech wiki :)
It's a big, ugly, obvious target that can be windowed or legged with almost hilarious impunity....but it was also THE symbol of the Clans' military might, and THE piece of hardware that made me love the series. God love you, MechWarrior. What a shell you've become now.
When you're overrun, you're severely injured, bleeding out. Huffing just to get oxygen into what blood you have left... The corners of your vision are fading along with your hope of survival...And you see a light in the sky and mistake it for the final tunnel of light before death. Then on the edge of consciousness, you hear the computer of your busted mech make a callout: [SENSORS INDICATE... FRIENDLY DROPSHIP HAS ENTERED ATMOSPHERE] [E.T.A. DROPSHIP: _ONE..._ MINUTE] And your determination to live redoubles and you squeeze out that last wellspring of strength to keep going. You hit the VCS reset button and grab your controls... Play Mech Warrior Online dude
Probably best as an indie film: Hollywood would bastardize the lore.
Voice on comm: "Sir! who or whoaa da hell is that thing?"
Kell: "I...It..it's..." looks at display:
IFF display voice: " (MAD)Marauder...(CAT)Catapult....(MAD)Marauder..(CAT)Catapult...(MAD)Marauder(CAT)Catapult....bzzzzzt....MAD....CAT:..MAD..CAT...MADCAT...MADCAT!
Kell: "..its a.....trouble.." xD
MWO doesn't have music, so I play this in the background.
Wow dude you are the man. Like I'm always playing the original score when I play MWO. This just makes it even more awesome. Thank you for this.
It is not a matter of practicality, it is a matter of soul. Man as a giant, towering over nature: that symbol grants its wielders immense power.
The Chills!! Love this remake!
This series would make for such an epic movie
I remember seeing this game's CD lying around in one of dad's CD wallets growing up... but by the time I was old enough to want to play it, none of our computers were primitive enough to install it. :(
SerialSnowmanKiller search for a mexhwarrior emulator and you can play it!
@@VegetaLF7 It's like these folks could actually make fantastic stories and characters in a vast universe!
I prefer the novel where space Palestine wins.
this is as good as a 100 million dollar films soundtrack
The timberwolf is something else man it's soo cooool
2:38 onward, I just picture a lone Atlas holding the line against clan heavies in close quarters urban fighting, trying to stop them blasting an evac dropship apart.
He was the one who stayed behind...
Nothing makes you question your life choices like seeing a star of Madcats in the distance.
I have installed a #WorldOfTanks music mod that uses, among others, also this track. I'm so happy with this find...
Incredible!!! Those drums are incredible!! Music to win a soundtrack award!!!
@Timothy Seals....Thank you so much for creating this. Battletech and mechwarrior was one of my favorite games of my childhood and you have done it so much justice. Including the sound bites gave me goosebumps.
I could hold on against a whole Clan while hearing this.
dmaxcustom I think this is the kind of music when Rogue Clanners come to your aid.
Gaden Kerensky As long they are willing to sink their feet in molten metal, I don´t mind.
dmaxcustom What you mean by that?
And I'd hold the line with the rest of the Wardens.
Hold on to your wet underwear you mean, freeborn.
porting over these tracks to mech 5 was so worth it, hands down 100x better then the vanilla music, thank you so much for creating these tracks! :D
Tim, your music is godly. They should hire you for the next mechwarrior game/movie.
"Conquest, it's the way of life for the mechwarrior."
As a big fan of the original Mech2 soundtrack, fantastic compilation!
3:05 Whut mech iz that???
Remake it ALL!!!!!!
mwo needs this man
Excellent soundtrack, Hollywood needs to build a movie around this with all the same seriousness and drama of ww2 flicks. No high-fiver shows.
this is really, really good. so glad to have found this
this track is a masterpiece. cant thank u enough @timothy seals
The combination of music and Betty gives me chills every time, sweet sweet memories!
This truly is a tour de force. Really atmospheric. Nostalgic and yet enhances the original. Love it!
The MWO franchise WILL live as the king of all shooters for me. And it still reigns.
MWO is shit, honestly. Nothing like the old Mechwarriors.
Mechwarrior 5 has just been announced! Fukken hyped!
I'd love to write music for this!
That would be amazing!
its going to be a shit cash grab since PGI is developing it
Brain problems?
"BANNED FOR GIVING A BAD REVIEW"
Mad... Cat...
Mad... Cat...
Mad Cat.
TBR....
@@hellsonion514 That was from the novels. )
Epically cinematic. Forge ahead no matter what the odds. Must complete mission, remember your training.
the game itself would gain a better atmosphere with these songs.
Bruv, download the MW5 Realism Audio Project mod from Nexus Mods. It includes Timothy's music which replaces the vanilla tunes in MW5.
'All systems nominal'
Man that still Kicks beautifully
How am I just finding this awesomeness?
All systems nominal... Let`s rock!
When I heard "All systems nominals"... I remembered so many good times at the helm of my mecha. Best Game Soundtrack of all times
Of course. The best mech of the bunch needs the most epic theme of them all :D.
WOW!....We have a badass over here!
This is my kind of movie music. I can imagine a movie starting with a defeat that belongs to clan invasion. A desperate Inner Sphere trying to move assets. The movie ends with the battle of Tukkayid.
Now I just hope MW5 lives up to the legacy.
They didnt care ..about Epicness
....it didn't. Thanks Piranha.
Initial release was pretty lackluster, but the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC really made it an enjoyable experience.
MWLL (Mechwarrior living legends) could really use someone with musical talent, all we have right now is some MW2 tracks on loop.
"Sensors indicate friendly dropship has entered atmosphere. ETA dropship: one minute. All systems nominal."
dam, that computer voice from MW2 is so bad ass. Best voice in entire franchise in my opinion.
Amazingly beautiful remix btw, perfect to play when reading battle tech wiki :)
Sweet zombie Jesus, I'm not the only one rescoring MW2. Good to know there are other fans of Jeehun Hwang's work!
The single most iconic mech in the history of the franchise.... ^^
It's a big, ugly, obvious target that can be windowed or legged with almost hilarious impunity....but it was also THE symbol of the Clans' military might, and THE piece of hardware that made me love the series.
God love you, MechWarrior. What a shell you've become now.
Can one use this soundtrack in a video game gameplay ? this is one of the best songs i heard this year
MW5 Realism Audio Project mod for Mechwarrior 5 includes these.
still waiting on a movie since 95'
A badass track for a badass mech
Best mech hands down.
Like evaunit said...this just captures the spirit of BattleTech. Amazing work!
When you're overrun, you're severely injured, bleeding out. Huffing just to get oxygen into what blood you have left... The corners of your vision are fading along with your hope of survival...And you see a light in the sky and mistake it for the final tunnel of light before death. Then on the edge of consciousness, you hear the computer of your busted mech make a callout:
[SENSORS INDICATE... FRIENDLY DROPSHIP HAS ENTERED ATMOSPHERE]
[E.T.A. DROPSHIP: _ONE..._ MINUTE]
And your determination to live redoubles and you squeeze out that last wellspring of strength to keep going. You hit the VCS reset button and grab your controls...
[ALL SYSTEMS... NOMINAL]
It's wrong, but that doesn't matter. Backup has arrived, and you intend to make the most of it.
Anybody here like MWLL ?? Mech Warrior Living Legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
