Pokemon Card Market Manipulation? Again?!

With so many price spikes in ultra modern pokemon products , I thought I would give my thoughts on the hot topic of 2024 as well as react to another poketuber on his thoughts on the pokemon market!

Time is of the essence in this hobby. The best thing you can do during fomo/hype/stonking is to pivot your goals for the time being. There is a sweet spot to pick up singles with a modern set. There is so much to collect in the hobby. "Oh modern alts are mooning? Time to collect vintage while no one is really talking about it." there is always opportunity in this hobby, you just have to stray from the path and know where to look.

Henry it is good to see you over come your stubborness about market manipulation not being a real thing because me and other commenters told you in the past about not needing much money to buy out a card when only 10-20 are listed

Def overcoming that for sure. What I was talking about was the comparisons between e trading and the pokemon market not being anywhere near the same but painted in the same light. ALSO I’m always going to back track and say when I’m wrong as well. In this case I was

Seems like my previous comment got deleted. I disagree with you sentiment that s&s and s&v will be here for years and years to come. Pokemon doesnt do reprints of eras that are no longer in print. There will be no S&S reprints now that we are in the S&V era. Deflationary product? That is simply not the case. Pretty much every single pokemon box has appreciated in value from MSRP given enough time. Hell even recent sets are going for MUCH higher than MSRP already. Yes, pokemon is printing way more product these days but they are making the pull rates way harder and theres significantly more people ripping boxes and packs open than ever before.

We can agree to disagree but I highly encourage you to hear other big poketubers talk about their investment money per set. We’re also seeing so many more people collect sealed / invest , so product will be here for many many years. Just my opinion 🤞🏽
