    In today's video we talk about the price I paid for my PSA 10 SWSH Alt Art collection. We compare the raw + grading price (I paid) vs the current market value.
    You'll be able to see just how much better off I was using this strategy..

      Now is a great time to also buy graded cards if you can find the bargains! I have a few friends who have picked up 10s for the same price as raw + grading (for modern cards).
      If you have any questions let me know 👍

      If you're wanting to grow your collection for cheaper! You're definitely better off buying alotnof modern cards raw & grading them yourself.
      With that said it is a case by case basis & you should always do research vs the current market value of the PSA 10s 🙂
      Thanks for watching!

    I need a breakdown on bow you purchase Raw! Jeez how do all your raw purchases come back as PSA 10's!?

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      Hey! Not every card I've ever sent has been a psa 10 everytime. This was more just comparing the difference by grading yourself vs buying.
      From memory the following have been 9s. Blissey v, slowking v, golurk v (not readded yet), jolteon vmax, jolteon v & flareon v.

    What a stud!

  • @andyhale3467

    Couple thoughts…. Assuming you showed all the results for every alt art raw card you purchased. Those results are not repeatable for everyone and people should not expect these results. If you watch channels where people are submitting cards to PSA and showing their returns. No one is getting these results. More likely is you will get some 9’s, you will buy cards you thought looked gradeable but upon closer inspection they will not get a PSA 10
    While this is the best way in the hobby for big returns and margins. It is also the most risky. You will encounter the ugliest side of this hobby in buying raw cards to grade. Especially buying online. It attracts a lot of dishonesty. People will use stock photos instead of the actual card they are selling. People will ship you a different card than what is pictured. Shipping raw cards are the most susceptible to damage. People will try their best to get the best possible picture, despite what the cards true quality really is. These are all things that I encounters just chasing one card!!!
    Buying in person is best. But still not perfect

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      Thanks Andy! Some great thoughts here and thanks for watching the video too!
      I think I tried to highlight it the best towards the end that even though there are large opportunities to save money buying raw there is risk/reward and sometimes it's better to just buy the 10s. Lots of caveats to what's presented.

    Is this in CAD?

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      Prices are all AUD.
      Ou r currency's (Australia & canada) aren't to far off each other so these prices might be close to The Canadian dollar 🙂

    • @michaelsmith7128

      @michaelsmith7128 haha yep! All in AUD.

      @marcburch2633 great point - I'm not sure if it's driving them away or not though.
      It would take more time & I might actually get it wrong once converted to usd haha

    Interesting video but bruh your market value prices are soooo off, why lie/alter the numbers to benefit you. Countless cards but the moltres you have at $350 is like $230

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      You'll have to give me some specific cards and I'll check them again. Nothing these are all AUD (Australian dollar) pricing.
      I tried my best to base these on last solds on ebay in Aus. 🙂

    • @paldeanquagmire9723

      Yeah mate this is AUD not US dollar. A lot of Americans come in expecting prices to be based on tcgplayer etc and cry foul lol
      All these prices are accurate in Australian dollar

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      Hey Trent! I did my best to minus the ebay fees (approx 13%) off the values roughly.

    • @kb6530

      Ebay fees aside , what's the odds of buying 1 copy of a card and getting a psa 10, I'm sure some cards took multiple buys to find a 10

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      @kb6530 majority have been 1 of 1s to hit the PSA 10. From memory slowking and blissey and the eeveelutions promos I've hit 9s before.

    Do you buy your raw cards online or in person? I've wanted to start doing this but scared to buy online. Can't really tell what your getting through pictures.

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      I buy both in person and online (fb pages & ebay).
      As long as you're getting really clear photos you can buy with confidence most of the time. Hope that helps

    • @andyhale3467

      Not true. This is just not true. It is a huge risk buying online.

    • @Brodieplayspokemon

      Speaking of my own circumstances the majority of these alt arts have been purchased online via instagram, fb or ebay.
      Again speaking from experience I've built up over time that it is possible to buy online and grade 10s at a high gem mint rate.
