I was baptized in the Melkite Greek Catholic Church but received all other sacraments in the Roman Catholic Church. I feel this call to start attending the Byzantine rite and even feeling like switching rites completely. My wife doesn’t agree with me. Brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for me.
I joined the Byzantine Rite over 20 yrs ago, I feel so Blessed! The LITURGY IS BEAUTIFUL! It Honors OUR LORD and Our BLESSED MOTHER! The people join with the singing all through the Liturgy! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹
Brethren, it is time to pray even more earnestly for the reunification of the churches (Catholic and Eastern Orthodox). 1000 years of division and enmity is far too long. We will have to account for this horrible division in the church on judgement day. Lord have mercy.
Brother these are the traditions of Eastern Catholic Churches & it's absolutely nice & fantastic. Henceforth there won't be any conflicts & fights regarding this. So we Christians as Catholics shouldn't fight regarding the traditions & denominations. Moreover we are brothers in Jesus Christ. We shouldn't fight each other with other Catholics & Christians. ✌️😊
@@margueritecrain2764 Yes, as Eastern Catholics, Francis is our Pope. We pray for him several times during the Liturgy, in different parts of the Liturgy. There are other Eastern Christians (the Orthodox) who do not align themselves with Rome.
The pope is the pope of the Roman church. Eastern Catholics are in communion, horizontally, with all other Eastern churches. The Ukrainian Catholic church has a patriarch. No Eastern Catholic bishop can become pope, as the pope is the “papa” of the Romans. (By the way, it is not “Mass.”)
@@mariorizkallah5383 Their union was only possible if they agreed to Catholic dogma. So yes, they do believe the same essential things. Others, they just express in a different cultural way - the Eastern way.
The Byzantine Rite including the Divine Liturgy is very special. What I concerns me is that some Ukrainian Catholic parishes do not have an iconostasis. In one parish they have constructed huge windows, some stained glass but no iconostasis.

It brings me great joy to know that I am as a Roman Catholic, in communion with my byzantine brothers
So you physically drink the wine?
Yes it’s on the bread cubes. @@BarbaPamino
@@gizmomogwai2434 what bread cubes? Is this a byzantine western thing?
Yes you just dont share the same faith lol so you only care about aesthetics than dogma

You could always attend Mass with your wife on Sunday and then go to weekday Divine Liturgies on your own.
Byzantine rite divine liturgy every sunday, don't forget the eastern fathers!
Coming from a ex Roman.

This is the byzantine rite. We are in union
Beautifully explained. Proud to be Ukrainian Catholic and part of this beautiful tradition.
I wish there were more Eastern Catholic parishes
Glad to be a byzantine eastern catholic

Great video, thankyou
Stunning.. very reverent.. very Holy
Beautiful rendition of the Eastern Rite Mass.
do they recognize Francis as "pope?"

I hope you’ll also include the first and second part of Liturgy.
Very informative and filmed beautifully.
Thank you
I love the byzantine divine liturgy. It is a spiritual roller coaster.
Are they still in union with the Roman Catholic Church? Their liturgy is beautiful too!
Yes, we are Eastern Catholics. You can attend at our liturgies without any worries.
Praise the lord Jesus Christ 🙏 and mother Mary 🙏

That is exactly like an Eastern Orthodox liturgy from just what I could tell
It is not
Well, they did take the liturgy with them when they apostatized from the EOC.
@@nuzzi6620 no, they did not apostasize, they joined back into the church
@@rody3199 no they apostatized. Their “union” with rome is a false one because they do not adhere to the same beliefs, they just “submit to rome”

That is very sad. I would not go to such a church. The iconostasis is obligatory. Otherwise, it is no different from a Latin Rite church.
Sadly, some parishes try to be “modern” and used stylized iconostasis..this is unfortunate and should not be allowed. Luckily, these are very few

Not “under.” We have our own prelates.
Oh wow they sing the Creed I've never seen that that Melody line though is familiar I've heard that with different words
Is that a menorah in the altar? O.o
😍😇
What parish is this?
St. Sofia in Rome
That's like the Greek Church Saint Sophia's
Beautiful video - - though the bride (19:09) seems to be dressed a bit immodestly in my opinion.
With the pandemic, I am curious as to how the congregation now receives the Eucharist.
