There's a English version by the knights of colombus of the Roman Catholic Church, but the choir chants in strange tones. Perhaps you'll like it. They pray for Francis in that one.

Daniel we others who are devoted to Jesus the Christ say this same exact prayer. Right now I'm deathly ill, but I want to live. Only Jesus can heal me, as well as Jesus through specialists and much needed, life saving surgery. It's my prayer to the Lord, because I want to live! I'm here 100% for him.

Troll 101 We should be praying for our leaders and civil authorities, even if we like them or not. They make laws which can seriously impact on our lives and the world. I’m sure when the good saint wrote the liturgy the prayer was for the Emporer. The inclusion of the President (or King or Queen or Prime Minister in other countries) is just the modern day adaptation of the liturgy.

@@aleksandarstavric2226 I believe the united Church at that time was called the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Both West and East were orthodox. Those of us in communion with Rome refer to our church as Catholic. Roman Catholicism is more a term used by others, especially in English speaking countries. St. John Chrysostom is also a saint of the Catholic Church with his own feast day and included in the Litany of the Saints. You may not be aware that his remains are entombed in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. They were taken there for safekeeping at the time of the Muslim invasion of Egypt where he had died in exile.

@@michaelcaza-schonberger9282 To be fair, historically (and yes, I was baptized Orthodox), the early fathers were mostly anti-Semitic. Also, to be fair, religion previous to our age was one of zealous behavior and ideology (similar to some left and right wing social-psychological as well as political behavior). Therefore, we have to somewhat accept that the early church was a product of the time.

The purpose of praying for government officials and the military is not political. It has been that way since like 316ad. It means we pray that God guides them with His wisdom. It also means we pray for their safety and peace. As for victory over adversaries, it does not mean destroying physical enemies. Rather it refers to victory of evil, such as Lucifer. Since we believe that all evil comes from Hell and darkness, we pray for the victory of the light (God). A lot of what is said in the back and forth is not literal but spiritual for lack of better words. We are all equal in God's eyes. We should not judge one another. We should pray that a person makes good choices and is guided by the light rather than belittle them for something we see as wrong.

Beautiful liturgy and in English but why the organ ? Just a background noise. At least it's mostly just a drone but so much even more beautiful to be acapella as is orthodox worship everywhere else for 2000.yrs. God bless. I live in Bulgaria where we have the Byzantine and Russian polyphonic tradition. To which the Greek is more common now and preferred. Acapella of course.

It is Christ that offers willingly His own Body and Blood for the Holy communion. Many people that their eyes of soul were opened and saw what really take place in the liturgy, have seen instead of bread, a baby on the Holy table cut in piecies by the priest as communion offered to the people. After that the baby becomes as whole again.

Nope its 100% byzantine rite. We are not referring here to the immaculate CONCEPTION of the Theotokos but to the fact she is pure and immaculate at the time of the Conception of the Only Begotten Son. Besides, the Copts do not profess the dogma of the immaculate conception either.
