Boo on that! Part of Blade's character is his lifetime struggle of always being an outsider in both the human and the vampire community. It is basically the same struggle that Angel had in the Buffyverse. They find some teams of different people than themselves but are always ultimately doomed to solitude.

it didn't get a sequel and it was trash just like the captain America movie after it they went straight to vhs no marvel movies came out from 1990-98 they did not pave the way in no shape or form for marvel to become the cinematic powerhouse it's become. Lol we had to deal with DC running the Comic Movie world from the 80s-90s. Blade had a trilogy fam and after the success of blade 1 there were marvel movies being pumped out almost yearly.

Mahershala is a phenomenal actor but I’m still disappointed it wasn’t Michael. Michael would have made an amazing Blade. On top of that he’s an professional martial arts which Mahershala isn’t.

Considering that Wesley Snipes has written a novel (which I need to read, and apparently was well received) and co-wrote a comic series, Marvel should let him write a new Blade comic series. Not a long running one, because I cant see him doing a long running series over years (unless he wants too) But they should definitely hire him to write a new Blade Comic series.
and they should buy the rights the characters from the films.....Karen Jensen Jared Nomak, Abraham Whistler, Eli Damaskinos, Nyssa Damiscinos.....etc.
I agree volumes 4 and 5 were meh, but so were a lot of marvel stuff in 2007/2008.....
one thing I thought this comic could have done was tied it into X-men curse of the Mutants storyline (where quite a few mutants got turned int vampires, including Wolverine) and Blade was part of that storyline. Though this may be set before then.

Hire a young black british actor (blades a brit in the comics) that Snipes and MJW could train to better play him...or atleast a young version of him in his early days.....I suggest the actor who played Greyworm from Game of Thrones. Hes got that stern look and was good in his action scenes (even if the season 8 were lousy)
and if Marvel gets off their ass to do Blade's daughter...which could have been dope if writen well, Hire the instagram model/martial artist Samurider...shes awesome AF

If anyone is wondering what Martial Arts Michael Jai White has a Black Belt in, here's a list. Shotokan, Taekwondo, Kobudo, Goju Ryu (under Master Eddie Morales), Tang Soo Do, Wushu and Kyokushin, with a specific focus in Kyokushin.
He's also 51. So he would be almost 60 by his second movie.
