I guess this explains why I haven't seen you or any other comic book TH-camrs talk about new Blade comics. It's a shame he should get new comics and good stories. Perhaps they shouldn't just limit him to just hunting vampires and have him deal with supernatural threats like Dr. Strange and Ghost Rider.

There's an answer for Blade's Daywalker "chicken of the egg" question. There was a panel interview/discussion with the 90's Spider-Man Animated series writers. When Blade came up, the head writer revealed that it was actually them that ended up making Blade half Vampire first before both the movie and the comic. Blade can have cool adventures with Spider/Wolverine team ups, Xmen team ups, Dr. Strange or Avengers team ups. The funny thing is that it wasn’t the comics or the movies that introduced Blade as the Daywalker first. It actually was set up in 2nd season of the FoxKids Spider-Man cartoon in 1996, two years before the movie was released. The character of Whistler, Blade’s mentor was also officially introduced in that show as well.
You can totally make compelling stories about characters who hunt vampires without using a bunch of crossovers and such. A certain blonde ex-cheerleader proved that 😏…
I remember an interview or a director commentary or something like that about the Blade movie where they said they made him a 'Daywalker' because it was more expensive to try and film outside at night and also a bigger pain in the ass. Lighting etc.
Black Panther teamed up with Blade during Reginald Hudlin's Black Panther run. Brother Voodoo, Luke Cage, and Monica Rambeau were also part of that team up too.
Rob… correction: Blade was released in 1998. I know this for a fact because, I saw Blade in the theaters in San Diego, when I was attending C school in North Island for my tenure with the US Navy. I loved Blade the movie growing up!
I would've loved it if Michael Jai White was Blade
dude is 54 though. yes sure many of the marvel people are in their 50's, but say they make 2 or 3 blade movies, dude might be in his 60's. they probably wanted a younger less muscular dude.
@Jordan Thomas i could actually see him as blade. i like elba as an actor.
Excellent video, sir. Really enjoyed the depth!
dam finally some blade

In 1999, I was still in Japan, which means I couldn’t have seen the film in theaters in San Diego at that time.
I'll still go back and watch the original Blade movie any day of the frikkin week.
The Movie didn't invent the Day walker it was the 90s Spiderman Cartoon. That's the first mention of him being a half Vampire
Beyond Omega Level: Undead King Arthur (Once and Future)
The thumbnail goes well with your profile picture.
Blade is one bad dude I’m hoping another movie comes out. Maybe with Whistlers girl the last crew on the last Blade movie is in it.
Lance Reddrick was one of the best live action Blade actors to as of the release of the resident evil TV show
I loved the blade movies!
Worth noting, Blade appeared in the animated Spiderman cartoon in the 90s prior to the movies too. That could have contributed to the film being made
You can't see it, but I'm nodding in approval before I even watch this video. Now let's see if Rob is ice skating uphill
The year I was born 1973 Blade debuted ,Blade and Wolverine, and Collusus are my favorites
Ok why did I already think “he’s literally just like Luke Cage in the comics” despite only hearing about this from you today and I’ve never read a Blade or Luke Cage comic🤔
Maybe they will have blade and wolverine in MCU debut
I'm curious on your take on Blade mother of evil
I love your vids you are the best marvel and DC youtuber
I haven't made it through the video yet, but Strikeforce was a good book he had and it had a horror vibe and was so cool.
I will watch ALL your videos Rob!
Keep doing blade fire vids
Thank for the video I am a fan of Blade and I still think this video should have been made thank you Rob and your team!
FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for this🔥
'Give Blade a day job to team up with other heroes since he often operates past their bedtimes' I love it.
I love 70s Blade.
Blade is great but i think he needs a reworking with some interesting additional powers/abilties. maybe even some new weaknesses. or weapons. or idk. an evil twin from a parallel world that has no powers but is all lex luther like.
just something new, different, and intriguing would be great.
love your vids... have to chime in on this one. I'd absolutely read a comic book about Blade. I think he has tons of stories to explore.
Not for nothing I remember Blade from the Spider-Man cartoon from the 90’s. He was a day Walker then.
My algorithm really gets me.
Yep
Yesssss one of my favorites in my top 5 list!!!
