- It is hard to choose a favourite car when you get to drive all of them. Not that I am complaining, obviously. When you do what I do, you can sometimes just get a bit, well, bored with many cars almost blurring into one another. But then something like the GWM Tank 300 comes along and you just go, "This is why I love what I do!" Check out the review.
And download the cars.co.za app so you can search for your very own 4x4!

Have a look on how the Chinese people add accessories to the Tank 300 and soup it up. With metallic colors, matching wheels and new interior. It will sell like hot cakes here in SA. By the way Haval also has a “Jeep” that’s similar to Tank 300. Strong competition in China.
Beautiful ❤️
Watching this from LA, eating American oats. Excited for this review.
Hi Juliet, awesome review as always. I have to say that the Chinese brands have really come a long way and redeveloping their vehicles. Love the interior 🤭
Thanks Jason!!!
@julietmcguire always a pleasure, only appreciating the craft 🫰🏼
This has to be my favorite review of the tank 300. And I've seen them ALL! Simple, fun, practical.
Love GWM products! Enjoy Juliet's left wing approach to motoring. She gives a hoot what the mainstream motorjournalists think. Listen to her!
Will take it anytime instead of a toyota
Yoh nah 🤣 definitely not
At 0:53 into video one can see that the front door and rear door is two different shades of red. Bad paint job?
Yeah. Just one of the many defects the 'reviewers' don't mention because GWM might not invite them to the next brunch.
That looks just like sunlight shade to me. Don’t think GWM is a mom and pop shop that mix paint by hand, lol.
Not having 7 seats is a bad mistake. Hopefully we get the 500
Unfortunately I dont need an app to tell me I cant afford this 4x4. But good app and super cool car. One day when i am big.
Ya look, I hear ya! ha ha
Oh i love this car❤❤❤❤
Looks great...reminiscent of the Hummer. Would be good to know what will happen down the line with resale.
I loved the Hummer!!!!
@@julietmcguire me too. That no-nonsense robust look
Great video as always. Interesting car - I just wonder about the servicing of GWM? Would it be the same issues as experienced with Haval? Resale value might also be an issue. But cool car!
I haven't had any complaints about GWM servicing, but that is not to say there aren't any. I am just not sure. But overall I have heard pretty good things. Resale is hard to call at this point obviously. But will be interesting for sure.
Like all the other journos in SA, you have completely ignored the payload problem.
It's kakker than kak.
2155kg (kerb weight - car with a tank of fuel)
2552kg (gross vehicle mass - max weight when loaded)
That leaves 397KG for people, luggage and trailers.
Install a tow bar (40kg at least....So that is 360kg left
Mom, Dad, 2 teenagers = 300kg at 75kg PP. (Not too many 75kg humans in SA these days.)
60KG left and you haven't put anything in the back.
Bags, food, drinks for a little week away and that is it.
You haven't but a bike rack on or a venter trailer (camper / caravans are a non-starter), and you are already over GVM.
It's NOT a family touring vehicle to replace an Everest, Fortuner, Pajero Sport etc. Its a fancy wrangler in my view..
Suspension is also VERY soft and braking at high speed (100kmh) looks to be a serious problem.
@@daletowert
I'm not even loading it on that example, it's VERY basic
They hiding the weight issue. It's not on their SA spec sheets on the GWM website.
Reading the marketing and sales talk on all their own documents.
Tow rating is 2500kg.
That puts 250kg on the tow ball, so the 400kg goes to 360 with the tow bar less 250, leaves 110KG left BEFORE you put a single person or bag in.
It's a major problem.
Looks like they weren't sure what they wanted to copy.
😀😀😀
Looks like the old Isuzu Trooper!
The new Tank 330 will be even better
Juliet really? over the Everest?
should last about 3 years
American food.....please elaborate??...
You clearly have not spent much time in the US.???
haval jeep sahara
GWM are great until you have an accident. Waiting for spares is a nightmare.
5 star rating. Do your research..it's safer than TOYOTA
@@nokocambelngoasheng9279that’s not what this comment was saying at all. It’s saying spares are hard to get.
Hey... Juliet... please put the number on the screen....❤
What number are you referring to?
@@julietmcguire Is referring to your telephone number - it's a (flirty) pickup line.
@@trk958 ok missed that completely, you'll need to up your flirting game hahahaha
Probably referred to KW and torque etc.
Who chromes plastic only toyota
Trump 2024🙌🙌🙌
Save millions or buy much more expensive
Hi Juliet you are the most attractive and beautiful driving lady in Australia, be more of a car driver
She’s not in Australia… and she is driving
Gwm isnt affordable anymore.
Chinese are here too make money with their cheap things
Terrible review 😂
Worried about Chinese quality and service. Nuts and bolts are softer, platisics are worse for quality, cheap bearings and all over electronics can't be trusted. Not even close to Japanese cars for a start. All the features does not make it a better quality car, just more items that can brake down. By a Fronx rather.
Womp womp 😂
Have you seen one broken on the side of the road? Because I haven’t
Obviously someone who has never been in one. Gearbox is zf, diffs and transfer case is borg warner, electronics are bosch. Build quality is as good as any other manufacturer. And in fact every other manufacturer uses chinese made components. So whats the difference exactly? Apart from your racism.
Your comment is almost laughable.
Bloody racist
Yeah paying over R500k for cheap and Chinese is way too expensive....2nd hand Hilux will do for me instead😂
Hilux is boring and will get stolen. R500k is not that much for a vehicle nowadays but for you it must be a lot of money, I am sure. You should in a communist country where there is no competition. Toyota (Hilux) is what was the Lada equivalent in the USSR.
Go ask people trying to sell a 2022/2023 Hilux how that “it keeps its value” argument is going.
And bakkies are one million rand nowadays. A full capacity off roader such as a Landcruiser or a Prado are all R1.3m and more. A Landcruiser 70 bakkie is R1m and you got no central locking and manual windows. I rather buy a fully equipped Tank 300 thank you.
@@jeroenjansen2709 Dude, the Land Cruiser 70-Series comes standard in SA with electric windows... As such, your opinion gets dismissed due to a lack of knowledge.
@jeroenjansen2709 bro, all vehicles are expensive. I choose mine carefully and I stay with the good ones. Toyota off road and BMW on road. I can't give flying shit about a cheap Chinese car, save that I will.never buy one😂😂
Tank you but, no Tank you.
😂😂😂😅👍🤟
