- The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires all drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to pass an FMCSA physical to obtain a DOT medical card (the medical exam).
Beyond traditional trucking companies, construction companies, local delivery, moving companies, people transportation of 8 to 15 passengers, and distribution companies that are transporting goods in delivery sized trucks instead of larger semi-trucks qualify to get a medical card.
Because of this large group of people needing medical cards, we are finding that medical card questions are baffling some of those responsible for qualifying commercial drivers.
In this webinar, we will dive into the exam process, what are the automatic disqualifications, what are some red flags, event around marijuana misuse, and what to do after obtaining a medical card.

Drivers, please take this advice - Stop smoking and drinking alcohol before taking the DOT exam. The FMCSA has very particular rules on this.

Be aware, insulin using diabetics are not automatically disqualified, this is old regulation

I hope they don't try to lie about health problems since it would be hard to these days since everything about them is put out there about them on the net about their health with all of their diagnoses and surgeries and all of their meds they take.
Ok here is a good ? For you why do people that don't use there cdl loose it if they don't use it but you have the city and town and state driver's crashing and they don't need to pass for a med card and ? # 2 if a driver is on oxygen can they have a dot med card
If your diabetic how will you be able to pass this exam? Otherwise I'm pretty healthy.
From my current understanding as long as you can show you are controlling it you’re good to go but I’m still working on it so I’m not 100% sure.

I'd rather have somebody under the influence I myself don't care too much either or about drugs. So would I be William Would I be scared no. There's no reason for me to be scared.But some people like doctors doctors I'm a little concerned with I just watched the video with a truck driver who gotHis medical card on hold because somebody wanted him to get a C pap test. And she wasn't going to give it to him until he took that test. And went to the doctor another Doctor and They even said why would that even come up but but there are some people out there that are power hungry and those people need to be found out and dealt with accordingly. I mean that's pretty much the people are playing games with people's lives like that that is not funny that is not cool that's on ethical and that person should have their medical license pulled it's pulled if they're gonna pull that Stunt. Because that situation is not fair to the driver the driver. And what is one to do in that situation when a doctor who's on a power trip is is suggesting other alternatives before you acquire your medical card when it has nothing to do with the Person that's the truck driver has nothing to do with whatever they're requesting. But there should be some guidelines in place to you know make sure that it is a fair interest because if you go to another doctor and they come up with a different answer, For that question. And is people actually using A machine to test blood pressure? Because let's not act as have nobody is doing funny business nowadays. I mean what I just saw on TH-cam on an incident regarding it darling is a DOT physical physical this seemed to can go both ways apparently. And the FMCS a what's their take on the situation the situation where a doctor is doing doing something he or she should not be doing. Like telling somebody they need to get a shoe pap test before That person can Get the medical card Because the guy was overweight I don't know what you know want to assume anything but she was doing a lot of assuming that's what it sounded like. But is that really a thing where people actually do stuff like this I mean it's questionable at questionable at best somebody did that to me I would definitely be questioning the big question is There are legitimacy. Because I'm hoping there is something like that because I'm going in to this and I don't want to get screwed because of this person assuming things there are the relevant.

As someone who smoked for 20 years i had to quit, driving a 30 pound killing machine is no joke, marijuana does affect the brain even 1 week after not smoking, you will still feel the effects, the effects are lazy reflexes
