I don't think JBB does, but he knows if Stamkos moves on, there's a number of free agents who can fit into our team. We all love Stamkos and JBB can clear the cap for him to retire here, but the decision really lies with Stammer if he wants to remain here or chase the bag. If some other franchise wants to duke him 8+, I bid him farewell.

i think its all in Stamkos's court, the question is does he want to stay in Tampa bad enough to take a pay cut/same salary or does he want to move on for more money. we know the cap issues Tampa has, not a lot of cap space and a lot of decisions to make this off season. i think the last time i looked before some changes were already made Tampa was looking at Pending UFAS, Stamkos, Duclair, Motte, Watson, Chaffee, Dumba, De Haan, Fleury and Merela and Alnefelt as RFAS. not to mention Hedman's contract is up next year. that's a lot of players to sign with something like 13 mil in cap space. i think the question is does Stamkos want to stay in Tampa bad enough to play here for only 6.5 mil or does he want to move to a market that can afford him at 8.

He has accomplished too much and done so much for the organization to ask him to take another pay cut just so he can stay with us he did it once already if we keep him then we need to pay him what he deserves if we don't then in my opinion that's being selfish this is most likely his last contract and he deserves the paycheck to reflect his accomplishments I want him to stay just as bad as everyone else but not if that means asking him to take less again after all he's done
