Vasy has been tracking the puck very well so far this season. The defense has been great clearing out the opponents in the crease so Vasy gets better looks. I believe the return of McDonaugh has been the main reason for this defensive turn around.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that we seemed to be MUCH better than the Canucks. We already look noticeably better 5v5 than last year.

What a great stary to the season. This team os clearly better than last year. -Guentzel is better than Stamkos -Forward lines deeper and fit together better -Defensive parings better -Vasy is healthy

Josh, I’m a big fan of locked on Lightning. I started listening to it about a year or so ago. I keep wanting to give this change and host a chance and I will, but I got to provide you some feedback as we have so many options for Lightning info. First, you got to improve your audio and video quality. Every podcast has moments where it’s garbled. I can only assume it’s your connection. And I’m typically listening to this via Apple podcast. But every episode to my recollection has moments are being garbled clearly from a connection issue. I urge you to improve this. Second, I know you don’t mean to, but you speak often when talking about teams or player pronunciations. in this one like in prior ones you referred to the Pittsburgh NHL team is the Panthers as you were talking about Sydney, etc. I know it’s probably because of the university Panthers, but it’s happened a few times. Finally, and most importantly, I normally listened to this podcast because of the insights of your predecessor and his thoughts about the players, the line combinations, what they’re doing well and not so well, etc. I found that for the last couple of weeks the podcast is just been highly repetitive about Stamkos leaving, Jake coming to the team, geeky may be making the squad, etc. Part I’m sure is due to it being preseason and all that. So I’m gonna keep listening into the season as actual play starts. Again, I appreciate that you do this work and I could never be a podcast or or a video host. I want to keep listening to this, but right now they’re a better options. I wish you luck and I’m hoping as the season progresses. The bolts will be on fire and your podcast will reflect that.

On paper.... Lightning are better than last year. Only thing that could hold them back is health and injuries. This roster is much improved at all levels

That shot by geekie that created that rebound for the first goal was a howitzer. Looks like he just needs to adjust to NHL speed he was falling quite a bit

Put sheary on waivers opens up more space to keep geekie full time & purchase a new back up goalie with the current ufa goalies available

If Johanson still gives up 6 or 7 goals in one or two more preseason games, do you think he'll still be the backup? I know it's preseason but the other goalies only gave up one goal in the first game

Josh. Good morning. I’m huge bolts fan and have listened to locked on lightning since I discovered it a year or so ago. I know you are new on here and wish you the best. Although you are not asking for input, I thought I would give you some helpful feedback: 1) I normally listen to this on my Apple podcast app. I’ve noted on all the podcasts you’ve done there are often audio glitches like what you get when you have a bad cell connection. It happens sporadically in all of the ones I’ve listened to from you. Maybe your internet connection? 2) although you don’t mean to, you often get some of the players names wrong or teams wrong. You mixed up Vassy and Kuch in one. And you called them the Pitt Panthers instead of Penguins. Again not trying to be critical just giving some feedback 3) I may be wrong but I think a couple of players you are pronouncing wrong. Pretty sure it is Cher-nak and not Sheer-nak. Just as fyi. Again I annoy the podcast and hope haven’t offended. Thanks. Randy

Kuch is the best player in Lightning history actually

Idk if Vasy would even want an “A”. One of their duties is liasing with the refs during the game and, given how goalies need to be locked in during the game, might not be something goalies would want to have to deal with.

I am still a bit puzzled by the Stamkos situation. What none of us know with any accuracy at all is what Stamkos was really offered. It was mentioned in a few articles that he was offered 3 million ? That sort of sounds ridiculous. That is pure speculation and the problem is that many of the writers take that and use it. We will not know the real contract amount that he was offered and that is sort of the puzzle. I think he is getting about 7 million in Nashville or close to that for 3 years 4 years ? I do not believe that BB tried to low ball him with 3 million. I think this. Stamkos has made about 7 to 8 million a year for 7 years and certainly a reasonable amount before that . Unless he is like MC Hammer and pissed away all his money, he is most likely sitting on about 40 to 50 million. He has made considerably more money than most players and I personally think that he could totally quit now and have more than enough money to last an entire lifetime, and in high luxury. This is now my speculation. I am pretty sure he was probably offered at least 6 million, or about that, and I don't think his ego wanted to take that. What did he gain by going to Nashville. A million or about that ? And now he has to move his family, put up with the shitty weather of Nashville and the loss of living here, which is arguably much nicer than Nashville, especially for your family. He was the main personality on this team, he was the captain and very prominent in the community. And I the think he was very aware of that and maybe too aware. He is a prime player both on and off the ice. If he could have stayed here for that amount he was offered, it would have allowed BB to sign better quality players to surround him instead of the cast offs and left overs that he has to sign because he is out of cap space and trade capital. I will guess he wanted a continuation of what his contract had been and that would handcuff BB. It is sad. I hope he is happy, I think it was his ego that sent him to Nashville, because I don't think he really needed the money. My take

McDonagh will be paired with Cernak. Moser is most likely 3LD since we all know how Cooper Hates playing defensemen on their off hand 77-43 27-81 90-48 will be the pairing

Sergachev Defensive ability or lack thereof was what got him traded. Moser who Julian Brisebois has stated is a top 4 defensive defender already.

Essymont and Cirelli hopefully have great seasons

Defense should be better this year. They had to learn whole new system last year, Sergei out most of last year, Vasey out 1st two months. We should be much better off. Keep Raddysh with Heddy and let Mac do Mac things with Moser.

This might come off as negative, but please. Open your mind and view it as constructive criticism. Either the locked on network needs to provide some assistance to increase the quality, or you need to invest yourself. I'm literally the FURTHEST thing from a quality snob, but the amount of people that probably click off right away because of the poor video and audio is probably killing you. I'm going to assume the locked on network hasn't provided you with anything, and just said hey do it on your own. I want to watch the video but I can't force myself to watch skype quality from 10 years ago (skype is dead). Once again, the network has to give you more to work with or you gotta fix it on your own. If you don't you're probably going to be omitting very good information with no one watching it because they click off as soon as they see the quality. Hopefully that wasn't too harsh, I feel like I'm just telling it how it is. Edit: Avs fan, but also a hockey fan. I want to see content on all teams, but if it's not my team I can't get past quality this bad. Can easily be fixed for like $150 USD or less - I don't personally use webcams so I can't give you advice there. -However, I've dabbled with multiple $100-150 microphones (CDN) so deduct 30% from that if you're american. If I had to make a suggestion look into Blue Yeti Snowball, Blue Yeti Nano, or Blue Yeti. For what you pay you get a great product, that comes with software, and true audio fanatics might have a better option. But for people like me and you, it'll drastically increase the quality, and it's so popular there are 1000's of videos on tweaking it. I'll also say, after watching a few minutes of the video, maybe it's not even a hardware problem but an internet problem if this was originally a live stream. Feel free to ever shoot me a message if you want some help.
