another action-intensive episode!! also, reminder that i am finished with frieren over on patreon + we're watching apothecary diaries and re:zero over there! the first of the month is the best time to sub if you're interested :D patreon.com/alanamisako
To steal a comment from Reddit, Denken started the fight with Frieren initially on fundamentals. Once that proved it wouldn't work, he switched to a tornado (because the flying spell doesn't work in strong wind). Then, he added in fire, for an omnidirectional attack - which we learned back in episode 3 will quickly drain mana to defend against. Frieren was able to tank through that, so he switched again to a continuous barrage of light arrows to leave no opening (he thought) to counter attack. All of which were ways the show has already shown us to be a way a mage can overcome someone with more mana than them. But Frieren most likely learned from her defeats in the Past/increased her Mana over the last 1000 years continuously. Especially since we dont know how huge her Mana reserves really are. She released it in EP10, but only after she used her dispelling magic several Times and Aura mentioned it uses up a lot of Mana, so we still cant accurately pinpoint how big her Manapool really is.
Lernen pointed out she has equal mana reserves to Serie. But oh well, Serie was hiding her mana too, so she has Mana reserves somewhat above what she released in EP10.
What i loved about this part of the series is the introduction of so many side characters without being too overwhelming or making them obnoxious. I genuinely enjoyed every character the more screen time we got of them, especially denken, the more you see from him the more you grow fond of him
"The greatest joy..." Not its use, not its effects, but its discovery. It's the difference in mindset: Serie is the ultimate ultiltarian and Frieren is an explorer.
Denken is easily my favorite of the other test takers, even after the end of the season. Although all the mages that passed were really cool as well. For how much emphasis is put on him being an imperial mage, a position that seems to have been won through bloody conflict and holds major power in the nation, he’s still a kind old man. As well as being the type of mage Frieren likes. Cool character
Such an epic episode. Great fighting and the animation was incredible especially when Frieren broke the barrier. And no one, I think, expected that sort of voice to come from Serie.
Love Frieren, but a classic had its remake first episode today. Yes I’m talking about “Spice and Wolf” I think you will like it as it’s a journey with lots of human interaction and a love story. Both are adults,he is 25 and she is well over 600 years. In fact the LN reference her as ageless like Frieren.
Don't know for what reason, but... Frieren episode 25, 26 and 28 seems to be missing from your playlist? Could you mayhaps take a look at that? Pretty please...
the character names are based on german language, so if you want to how to spell it, open google translate, set to german, type the name, and click the speaker icon to listen the pronounciation

@@hybrid6452This is going to be fun to watch and wholesome.🔥
Denken with the high-volume physical attack
lol
🤣
Throw Punch has a mana cost of zero.
*snorts* I haven't read that one... amazing! 😆
Seriously when he got "prepared" I loved every part of it.

Denken: "I'm out of mana, but not out of fists."

"i may be out of mana but not out of options"
@Hikaru.Kamiki skill issue
Richter's "god this is gonna suck" comment right before he gets a bath is one of my favorite deadpan moments in this past cour.
Most epic scene: Frieren destroys Serie's barrier like it was nothing.
The funniest scene: Denken tried to settle things with old fashion way.
Denken doing the fist fight was epic too
Personally, I really liked that "This is why I hate water" from Richter
"The greatest joy..."
Not its use, not its effects, but its discovery. It's the difference in mindset: Serie is the ultimate ultiltarian and Frieren is an explorer.
Denken cast Fist. It's super effective
The line from serie after Frieren broke the barrier is genuinely one of my favourite moments of the series
"I have come here to kick ass and cast spells. And I'm all out of spells." Denken

Beware an old man in a profession where men die young.
Just you wait until a certain arc...
The scene of Frieren breaking the barrier gives me chills every single time. It's so well done.
Old man Denken is the textbook definition of OG!
Serie and Killua share the same VA 😊
01:12 i love that fern pouty face cosplay
Such an epic episode. Great fighting and the animation was incredible especially when Frieren broke the barrier. And no one, I think, expected that sort of voice to come from Serie.
I agree that I love Stark and Ferrn but this whole Frieren and Fern bond arc is amazing.
Old Man Wizard CASTS FIST
Denken always has one more bit of magic up his sleeves. These hands!
Denken is a real one.
Everytime I hear Killua va I miss hxh
And Frieren has been a first class mage candidate a thousand years ago..
Frieren and Denken are more of the "It's the journey, not the destination" kinda guys.
"Grandpa Denken, would you cast us a spell?"
"Of course, young Laufen. I CAST FIST."

at 8:24 the shdow of Serie appears (only 0,1second)
Nice catch, guess she had to put herself in the mind of Serie to properly analyze and deconstruct this massive barrier.
Denken:" this magic used hands without mana"
"I cast Fist!" - Denken, probably
Don't know for what reason, but... Frieren episode 25, 26 and 28 seems to be missing from your playlist?
Could you mayhaps take a look at that? Pretty please...
He may be out of mana but he's not out of options. He casts Fist.
Denken: "I cast fist!"
Denken is a follower of Mashle's muscle magic
Denken still a man who loves fist fight

I love me my “first-class escorts”.❤👨🏼✈️👯♂️
Yes its killua's VA. Mariya Ise.
Denken doing it oldschool 😂
Denken got hands bro 😂
it would've been cooler if Denken said it's time to cast some fists
A Sign of Affection Reaction! ??????????
i miss himmel, heiter, and eisen too =(
Serie's VA is indeed the same as Killua's and it's a woman not a man, her voice fits Serie imo
Denken "these hands"
You should reaction Tonikaku kawaii, it's a good choice for you.
Spice and Wolf is back!! Solo the wise wolf it’s the best!
Watch Mushoku Tensei 😬😬
Will you be reacting to solo leveling?
REACT TO TOKYO REVENGERS SZN 3 PLSSSS!!!
At first I thought Series is a male.....but in fact she is a female...I got tricked there
I guess it is 2024 and a man can have breasts. I can see how you were fooled.
Because people are so used to the VA for male characters. lol
You should watch Solo Leveling if you haven’t already! The first season just finished but season 2 is coming out soon
