I really wish they would model the supercarrier, and include a first person mode, where you could go from the briefing room to strapping into the plane at mid-deck, then get lifted by the elevator, and then get set for launch! It would be a hefty add-on, but would do wonders for immersion. Heck, I wish they just had a feature where you could get out and walk around your plane. I know there's already outside view, but to be in first person and have to slowly walk around these jets would help relay the feeling of their weight and how actually huge they are. But I digress.
you can walk around after you eject but the controls to walk around are a bit funky as the rudder is to turn your character and you can literally walk sideways while having a forward walking animation
Eagle Dynamics is working on this.
for the amount of money they are charging for the current DLC I would expect this to be included

They did a really good job with the crew animations. There are times I almost expect one of them to turn around and flip me off while I'm watching them from an external camera.

I'm amazed at how accurate this is. Not just the procedures, but little things like the operation of the launch bar, the hand signals (the mannerisms in particular), and even the one flight deck crewman shifting from one foot to the other as he waited to do something. I did notice that the interval between the shooter touching the deck and the actual firing of the catapult was sometimes a bit too short - that usually takes two or three seconds, but it was about right with some of the launches. I just got DCS the other day and I'm waiting for my HOTAS stuff to come in before I dig into it and start buying aircraft and modules.

The carrier is really cool, and I can't wait to see what they do with it later on. I bought it shortly after they put it up for pre-order on Steam. I don't know how much I'll actually use it, but I got it anyway because it was extremely cool and I didn't mind throwing a few bucks their way.

Looking at the thumbnail... DCS needs a player driven AWACS. Bring a new level of immersion to online multiplayer.
For flying in circles, or the radar component? Former hardly adds immersion, latter is serviced by LotATC

Lots of servers have this. Hoggit Georgia at War has human GCI and an AI one called OverlordBot which is actually really good.
@Southern Fun They probably haven't done this because it would take about the same amount of development as a fighter and make 5% of the sales. LotATC already exists too, it's not just F10 map.
Can't see the missions for an E2 module being particularly riveting. So cut out those bits and you basically have LotATC.
I’m with you not really a combat person but love the planes. I wish you could fly transport too like the c130 or c-17
My only qualm, and you can see it at 2:28, is that the crew direct you to raise the launch bar for the F-14, but actually kneeling back up again just disconnects it. At least visually, still works, but it does look a bit wonky.

FYI we have found that as of right now, the comms menu for 'Salute' for F-14 does not work. Shift-U still does though.

Nice video Yellow shirts are ABH “handlers” they run the flight deck not all are officers most are enlisted khakis represent E-7 and higher not just officers as well if they have camis on they are enlisted and below the rank of E-7 which is chief ranks

how do you get your camera to follow the director?
The super carrier looks like mostly visual effect although there r some air defense weapon systems but those r hardly used in real life naval combat. It could if the situation gets to that point but...I guess I don't get a point of buying this mod but since im new, maybe there are some points that I have missed. How many different air crafts can I fly to take off and land on super carrier mod?
I just bought the Super Carrier through the Open Beta mod manager. I don't see it in my mods or missions. It didn't seem to download it. I see it in the install list. ??? Great video man !
Make sure you close dcs and then reopen it and go into your module manager, it should detect it not installed

1/ I have bought and installed Supercarrier, it is shown as installed on my module manager, but I can't get it to load and so
2/ Do I have to buy the F/18 module separate in order to play?
Thank you! Install it through the module manager and you need an f18 or f14 to land on the carrier

@@redstripe54 I wish it was that simple but yes you need to purchase an airplane on top of the super carrier. There is a free carrier in the game but it's not as sophisticated as this one.

I think the free A-4C (Community A-4C &E) and the free T-45 (VNAO) will work with the Supercarrier. Regards-

Just installed the module, DCS 2.5.6 fired back up, I go to missions but nothing Supercarrier related shows...did I miss something?
Go to missions and click f18. If you have f14 there are instant action missions

Anyone have a breakdown of the multiplayer rules for this module, or a link to where the definitive info is? If I create a mission with it, what are the limitations for the folks on my server who don't own it? Spawns/Launches/Recoveries - that stuff. How are RIOs handled for instance? 4 or 5 months ago there was some contention on these issues, just not sure how things have been resolved now that the module is released. Thanks in advance.
Everything in multi-player works like single player. Give it a go, it's alot of fun!

I bought the carrier off of steam but cant find it in my game ,will it work on Steam? I have heard their is a conflict between Steam and DCS World. Any help would be most appreciated.
Honestly Im not sure but I had a few steam users comment the same, sorry I don't use steam unfortunately. Check the forums
i couldnt get the comms to work last night, i got request startup and when i was running the option i got was request startup, they already gavce me startup permission but i never got any othjer options.
i ended up just going the the back of the boat and going full reheat to take off lol
Just pick a catapult and taxi up to it, they'll start guiding you!

@@eatthisvr6 you have to select "request launch" from ground crew and not atc in the comm menu
You can still roll up to the cat, dude will guide you, you stop, kneel and they will do the hookup, then green shirt dude directs you to go forwards and stop when over the shuttle. From the yellow shirt dude gives you the whole throttle up command with his arms, and you use the exisiting salute option.
This is on the Tomcat side at least, not sure about Hornet because Tomcats > Hornets.
I have questions that I can't get anyone to answer. Can someone direct me to a video or tutorial on using VR with DCS. I bought the Samsung Odyssey VR setup but it does not appear to work with my DCS. Do I need to configure something differently? Do I need to download and run the VR version of DCS? there are so many videos out there but no one covers this issue. Going from the regular DCS and then adding the VR, there is something that I am missing somewhere. When I plug my VR headset in it automatically launches Mix reality, but I cant run DCS inside Mix reality. A little guidance is all I ask guy, please.

I always wondered, why do some of those guys wear woodland camo pants on the carrier deck?
khakis represent E-7 and higher, camo is below E-7
The are Marine Squadrons attached to the carriers as well and they bring their own flight crews. Those are Marines sir.

Got it. Not aware of the types of camo. I was blue side during my four years on TR. we were wearing dungarees and white jerseys with the big Red Cross on them at the time and hanging out in the Flight Deck BDS when we had free time and wanted to check out the flight deck during flight ops.
For some reason F-14 is not taking off after I do salute...Any clue what might be wrong? Everything else is working fine, I'm getting all commands from director, then I salute, he shows ahead - and nothing happens :(
Use the default salute command on the f14, Lshift U

Hi.I am a newbie and just started playin DCS several days ago
Once the pandemic is over,i plan to buy the Su33 module.I know flaming cliffs 3 is better than only buying the Su33 alone but i feel it is a bit too expensive at over $25 currently,compared to the Su33's more affordable price of ~$7.Let alone after the pandemic where the price will most likely go higher than $40.But after i buy the Su33,what module should i buy next?Go for supercarrier?Or other map/aircraft?(sorry if the currency isnt accurate,i am not a US citizen)
I would buy a full fidelity aircraft first and learn how to fly and master the plane before moving on to the super carrier

Good choice
Get that SU33, its a great aircraft and it's very inexpensive for what you get. I can't say enough about it. I am running it out of the FC3 module, but it's the same exact one you are thinking about getting.. The full fidelity aircraft purchase is also a good option but has the price-tag too.

Any fps tips? Mine drops from 60 to 35-40 when I'm on the supercarrier
Ouch that's no good, only thing I can suggest is make sure the deck isn't populated...I would post in the forums though, lots of good help there for these types of situations

How can I go about watching my own landing in LSO station ? Fly and land and then watch a trk and hit lft alt F9 ? F9 is also what shuts off my Trackir5.
That's correct, you can always change your key bindings in the game or go into your travkir and change the key bindings, mine is set to numpad 9 to reenter my trackir

my deck crew are quite juddery and shake about a bit on the deck whereas yours are silky smooth and glued to the deck, not sure why this is
Is your carrier speed and wind more than 30 knots across the deck?
