Because those QS rankings are slightly biased towards the US. The other "reliable" source of information is the THE rankings, which is slightly UK biased and thus, puts Oxbridge infront of MIT / Harvard. The truth is THERE IS NO MEASURABLE difference in quality between Oxbridge and MIT / Harvard.

Exactly half of the universities shown above in the "QS top 10" never appeared in the list of QS top employability rankings. The unis ETH Zurich, Imperial, Caltech, UCL and Uni-Chicago are thrown out of the top 10 employability list. Surprisingly, "Caltech" is ranked 70+ in the world for employment by QS. The Australian unis- "USyd" and "UMelb" neither are in top 30, came out to be the highest ranked universities in the world for Employment. I believe that QS methodology used in the Subject ranking and the Employment ranking is good.
Would you please post the list of criteria by which these rankings are judged. Some of these judging factors have been controlled by world politics & the prevailing ideology in certain countries. e.g. Number of Nobel Prize winners. These winners traditionally have been chosen from countries in the "democratic West," but not the "communist" countries. In fact, the "communist" countries (e.g. Russia & the former Soviet Union, China, the small countries in Eastern Europe, ...etc ). The have had to keep secret their major scientific discoveries, & technological & medical advancements, for the fear of being attacked with counter technology by the West & their allies. During the cold war period, basically the only Nobel Prizes ever awarded to Russian/ former Soviet/ Chinese recipients were in literature or peace. None whatsoever in physics, chemistry, medicine.

Oh boy, do I feel like a fool. I had stated in here on a couple of posts that "most of MIT's presidents for the past 50 or so years were University of Michigan grads." Well, I just looked at the list of the 20 MIT presidents, including the current one, and it turns out that only two of them held degrees from UMich. I feel a fool! The French university system is segregated into the mass,under-resourced public sector system which is non selective as long as you have the minimum pass grades required and the highly selective elite grand ecoles where the best and brightest attend including the present president and most past presidents of France! Unfortunately, these institutions don't feature in any of the official world rankings of universities as they are not part of France's official university system; the public universities in general are pretty crap in comparison I believe)
Your ranking is based by 40% on "experts' opinion". That is highly subjective and depending on which "experts" you select, you obtain vastly different results. Your whole ranking is therefore completely useless and biased. If you want to be taken seriously, establish objective and comparable(normalized) measurements and diminish at least the degree upon which you weigh the expert opinion(e.g. 5% instead of 40%). If you don't it is just a matter of time till people realize your ranking is crap and your relevance decreases.
Harvard behind Stanford *AND* MIT? I can see you rating it behind one of them due to personal preference as Harvard, overall, is better, but the other two have their own specialties. For example, MIT has top notch physics and Stanford has... idk, outdoor stuff? But those are completely different, where as Harvard is #1 and #2 at everything. Depends massively at what academic level and subject direction you refer to. I am not sure how "objective" you judge, but generally speaking, you can't really say there are measurable differences in educational quality. It is more a question of the system and academic training YOU prefer. In top UK institutions, you get highly specialized training early on, hence, you are made a subject expert even at an undergraduate level. In most US institutions, you will not get to be trained a specialist early on, but rather will undergo a "general arts" approach in which the students obtain a well-rounded set of modules teaching general skills and knowledge. This difference is due to the heterogeneous nature of the US high school system so that universities attempt to bring students to a similar level in terms of general education, before going to specialist training later on. Consequently, an undergraduate qualification may really differ in terms of subject-specific knowledge, obviously favouring the UK system. However, this subject level expertise differs much less at postgraduate level (masters), where US institutions focus much more on specialization, compared to the undergraduate. Interestingly, at a PhD or research level, there is certainly no difference in approach between US and UK top universities, both will train you to the highest level of subject-specific knowledge and the qualifications are very comparable in terms of pure expertise. Personally, I would prefer the "early specialization" from the UK during undergraduate, but then move to the US for postgraduate or research as most universities have significantly better funding than in the UK, which in turn is advantageous and may reflect in research and learning conditions. Ultimately, everyone needs to decide on an individual basis which system he or she prefers. But both countries the UK and US offer by far the best education worldwide, I can absolutely guarantee you there is really not much difference in educational quality between the Russel Group and Ivy League universities (just looking at the syllabus, subject depth and rigour), ignoring subjective criteria/reputation and just focussing at pure educational standards.
