Come along with me for my first week at the University of Oxford as a visiting student studying politics! In this vlog, I move into my dorm, do lots of studying before my first class, attend a charity ball, go to college orientation, and struggle to balance academic and social life during freshers week. As someone who struggles in school.. i will always respect a students ability to focus and concentrate both in class and on assignments. All while getting exceptional grades.

As someone who's lived in Oxford their whole life and doesn't appreciate it, it's nice seeing other people appreciate its beauty! enjoy your studies!!

I can't believe this is your first video, it's very calming, comforting and feels like spending a day with a friend. Your editing really conveys the excitement and suspense of a new start in a new place. I wish you a lot of joy and valueable experiences on your journey. Seeing you finding friends and having fun really makes me happy and motivates me to maybe be make more bold choices that may take you out of your comfort zone or what you've been used to😊

As someone who lives in London, I've never seen Oxford but seeing how it looks, my heart feels all warmed up. I love seeing people having fun over here because I mostly see American college vlogs. I hope you are having a great time and living your dream happily. If you're staying here over the summer I suggest going to Central London and going on the London Eye. I'm already in love with your vlogs!! Definitely subscribing!

Here in my college, most of my classmates seem to lack friendliness
all the architechture, the surrounding, the atmosphere is so sound and charming

Parts of hogwarts were actually filmed at oxford University. That might be why😅

There are lots of places in Oxford where Harry Potter scenes were filmed! I've been there and it it so worth it! The whole city gives you Harry Potter feelings and as I remember correctly, most of the film settings are for free visit and not as crowded as you would believe them to be. :)

The fact that u made friends in the time span of the first day u were there is amusing to me,as well as ur hard work and patience especially while changing so many schools.I’m sure you’ll go a far way!
Tips for studying and improving grades in case you also wanna go into a good uni or college:
1. Take notes while in class (make sure your writing is neat and clean to understand it clearly).
2. Review your notes and past test papers multiple times everyday, and then test yourself.
3. Watch videos related to what your struggling with recommend doing and/or learning the basics, before getting to the hard part.
4. Say positive affirmations to not bring your hope and confidence down, remember your grades doesn't define who you are it defines your potential and knowledge throughout the class years.
5. This is just extra but study with the smart person in class so that you can ask questions and for help, depends if they are nice enough and don't forget to tell them about your grades and struggles so they take you seriously.

I have similar experience with going to 3 colleges in 3 years. I am studying uni at Hong Kong, then went to exchange at Singapore and the United States. Wonderful experience to see all the school cultures! Glad you are enjoying your life abroad!
As a londoner and someone who has been to oxford, it felt quite refreshing and inspiring to watch a video in a place I remember being, from the book shop to the cafe! I'm so used to watching vids set in America, I love this.

I had the opportunity to study at Oxford this summer and absolutely loved the school and city. How lucky you are to spend an entire year there! I highly recommend checking out Shezan for great Indian food and Thaikhun for Thai, they were two of my favorite places to eat :)

as someone who has been thinking of college as early as 6th grade, oxford and yale are definitely my dream schools. ive always wanted to see what oxford was like, so this video helps a lot. my parents went to amazing colleges (including yale), so i inspire to follow their path. at the same time, traveling and living somewhere else would be a dream. so when i apply for college, i will apply for oxford because of research and videos like this. thanks a lot! ☺️

Well done. Tuck shop is something a boarding school has in the UK and sometimes day schools. It is treat foods for children. A delicatesson (deli) is a general word for a shop selling things like sliced meats. The Tuck Shop on the video has just chosen that name as its own business/brand name. A dorm is a dormitory often in a UK boarding school. University does not have dorm rooms because students usually do not share a room with lots of others so it would just be called your "room". Enjoy Oxford. I have a relative there are present who is having a very good time.
