My favorite part of this amp is the fact that it’s all anolog tube tone but the midi capability brings it up to date with switching options. Oh and it sounds absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to get mine!
Just…..WOW!!! Beautiful looking and even better sounding amp. Awesome video! Someday, hopefully very soon, this video will come in handy for me to refer to when I play my very own Alta 100! You just gave me even more motivation to get done what I need to do to reach my goal of getting one of these beauties! I can imagine how proud you are of your design and build. Awesome job, man!
This is beautiful, and sounds like a dream! But please consider a suggestion: The front panel is hard to read and see through. It's because the panel is black, the knobs are black, and all the writings are under the knobs! In most cases we look at the knobs from above, so all writings are covered by the knobs. The tiny little white notches on the knobs does not help a lot to see their position either. If you would design a light color panel sheet, use different colors for the knobs by their channel or function, put the writings above the knobs, use more visually marked knobs, you will have a much more attractive looking amp that will sell better! All the best! I love your work!
I want one. This is exactly what I have been looking for. Currently using a Marshall JVM410H because the clean is really good, the crunch leaves a little to be desired. I'll trade ya the JVM and a DSL for one?
@@HeadfirstAmps Got a bunch of old Laneys too. AOR 50 Pro Tube Lead, AOR 100 Pro Tube Lead, GH50R, GH100L. Have you ever modded one of the AORs? I love those amps, they have massive punch but they're a little fizzy
Hello Sir. I watched the video of psionic Audio about Marshall Origin. He told that there is signal Problem in Origin amp. What do you think is it in All Marshall origin 20. Thanks again for your awesome mod videos.
Killer amp. Only thing keeping me from getting one is all the damn buttons and the logo. The orientation of the controls is strange, I bet there will be more revisions in the future. One of the best sounding Marshall style amps that's for sure.
Hey man im hoping your knowledge could help me out. Ive looked everywhere online. It looks possibly like a marshall dsl 100 chassis will fit into the old valvestate 2000 amp head cabnet the wooden boxes look close in all the pictures .but i cant find measurements. Any idea in your experience?
Hi there... It will be very nice have an official vendor in EU to purchase headfirst amps and to have as a official repair/warranty and so on. You guys made an awesome work, hop I can try one of your amps soon or later. Bye!
Fantastic design.. excellent review..I feel like I could rip on this right away.. good use for my old art sgx midi pedal from the 80's.. lol.. amps sounds awesome.. like what Marshall should have made ..
@@HeadfirstAmps Sir which is better modded DSL or Modded Origin. I have Marshall TSL should i mod it or buy an Origin or DSL to mod. Sorry i am asking too many questions.
Hello from Japan. Jason-san, your amps, demonstrations, explanations are GREAT. Thank you so much for interesting videos. I have kind of silly query regarding ALTA100 Bright1/2 implementations. I thought it is (they are) Bright-Cap on-off installation like Bogner Ecstacy Ch2,3 which means that the more you bring up Gain settings to 10, the less Bright-Cap effect gets. But in the ALTA 100 YT video by Kyle Bull, around 8min 20sec to 9min 40sec, he was adjusting Ch2 Bright1,2 switches with Ch2 gain at 10. th-cam.com/video/6lMctrHLLP8/w-d-xo.html This means ALTA 100 Bright1,2 are not like standard/usual Bright-Cap type of implementation?? Thank you in advance.
@@HeadfirstAmps Jason-san, Thank you so much for answering back. I understand well. That is great advantage of ALTA100 that both of Bright-Caps are independently implemented. I hope Headfirst Company will be as big as Friedman!! You deserve it 😃😃👍 Domo Arigato from Japan.
Having a live “user manual” with the designer/builder of the amp is a great idea 👍

Wow. All Marshall sounds in one amp and then some. This is amazing!
Thanks!
Man, you really captured some of our favorite British tones and beyond with this amp. Great job J!
Thanks Jeremy, I appreciate it man!
Jason you love showing off this amp. Rightly so! Great vid for the owners and future owners.

Awesome, Jason your passion and drive has resulted in this beauty. Well done, thanks for sharing this with the world, may it inspire many 🙂.

The AOR100 Pro was my first tube head, back in shit must have been 1988. They are great mod platforms - they are 2204/2203 based.
@@HeadfirstAmps Ah sweet! That's my favorite amp of all time. I just want it to have a bit more snarl and bit less fizz. Do you have a mod I can buy?
Please consider making a 50 watt version. I will buy one the moment it's available
The amp is already switchable to 50w, and the head cab is sized the same as a 50w Marshall.
Mine is being built now, cannot wait!!!!!
great!...that Vintage/modern for Ch2 and 3 it's different Cathode Resistors and Bypass Caps for that Gain stage?
A bunch of things, including cathode resistors….which is why the inbuilt mute circuit is critical when switching.

No plans to change the layout or cosmetics in anyway, other than the new Tolex options. The tones are all there and improved in recent rev2.

Don’t know exactly, however Marshall have generally stuck with the same headcab dimensions for the large box 100w amps.
This man knows just a couple of things about Marshall amps😊. This amp is a beast!!!! ❤

Sir which is Better amp Marshall Origin or DSL if we can mod them and in original form.
DSL better than the Origin stock, but a modded Origin will destroy a DSL in any form.

I don’t own an Aussie amp.
At the moment anyway 👈🫵
sounds great!

My man.
You both make killer amps
Why do you have a standby setting, a lot of people and techs say this isn't needed and can be harmful to the amp?
Whether it’s necessary or needed is a source of endless debate, however it is not harmful to the amp.
I want this amp so bad!!

They work the same, they depend on the gain pot setting. The difference with the Alta is that you can have both on at the same time!
