    More detail needed: 1) how do we know the coating is ready to buff since different coatings flash at different time periods? 2) What does the coating look like, or is it still sticky when you start buffing? I can’t seem to find out this information, and I don’t think I need to take a class to find out. Your channel isn’t the only one that leaves out this important information.

      Yes once you buff off it still there (at least on cars) and every ceramic Coating has diferent time to buff it so check the instriccions, once you finish the job should look very glossy and once you wait forncure time will look even more Glossy.

    with the rub rails a clean cotton rag with some acetone cleans them right up you just gotta be careful not to touch any gelcoat with the acetone cause it'll take your wax right off

    I like the closing - But the website listed the premium products for "installations" or the professionals which goes against what is being told. Whats up with that? Also how much product was used for this 25ft boat? Thanks!

    Great vid man! Can I use a compound/polish combo like Meguiars M105/M205 on gelcoat? Also, do you not ceramic coat the whole hull? Or do you somehow put the boat on stands that would expose the whole hull?

    • @glossbaus2336
      @glossbaus2336  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try meguires but you will need to have a very abrasive version to cut through gel coat oxidation. We only ceramic coat the sides of the hull, the part in the water usually gets bottom paint, or we just keep it natural. Although some customers may insist in the whole hull being done as well.

    I would have like to have seen how you detail around the chrome letters and the vinyl graphics. I have the same boat and getting into those areas is painstaking and tedious work. Does anyone have an idea how much this would cost if done by a Pro?

    Wish you would’ve showed the ceramic coating on the aft of the boat where the paint is darker and not the white paint. That way we can see the difference.

    • @glossbaus2336
      @glossbaus2336  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The difference is in the polishing. Apply ceramic coating to an oxidized portion it will look nearly the same, apply ceramic coating to a heavily cut polished surface, it will enhance the look slightly, the ceramic is more of a sealer then a magic coating that makes dull things shine.

  • @justinmw5113
    @justinmw5113 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Starts by showing how bad the gray part was but never shows what it looks like with the ceramic on it.

    • @glossbaus2336
      @glossbaus2336  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol well if you get it shiny with polishing, its going to be just a tiny bit glossier with ceramic, not a massive difference, the difference is in the quality of the polishing.

    That gel coat would never in a million years be free of oxidation from your compounding. The polishing oils almost immediately fake a glossy finish. Even after an alcohol wipe those polishing oils are deeply embedded and won’t release for a week minimum

    • @glossbaus2336
      @glossbaus2336  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe for you, but not for us. We use specialty compounds and polishes and remove all polishing residues with a panel wipe before we apply ceramic coating. So if that was the case the panel wipe would wipe away these oils that are giving the fake shine.
