- This Wild Card Wednesday we are turning off the lights and getting scared watching every Outlast trailer. At least, every at last trailer that we know of. From our Resident Evil livestreams, we've been requested to check this game out to see if we could handle it. Hope you enjoy our all outlast trailers reaction!

This asylum is lots of fun. They have great medical staff, the kitchen is 5 stars with a good and healthy variety of food, plenty of activities you can take part in. All sorts of fun. 10/10

Outlast 1 was so terrifying it was borderline unplayable!! Literally the first game that comes to mind when I hear people describe something as having an "oppressive atmosphere".

The Varients in the Mount Massive Asylum were really interesting. Most ignored you, fighting their own psyche, or just never noticed you there. Some even helped you. Of course a handful tried to kill you, but they weren't the worst entity's in Mount Massive.

Probably one of the first horror games where I legit had to quit and walk away from because my heart was always racing. It's so good.

One of the best tag lines to this series is you only have three options run hide or die. Also I used to live near an asylum and the shit I've seen near that place I'm convinced there was something in the water because even the staff were nutty as hell and you could always hear screaming coming from there.

The first few games you could only run and hide but from the trailers of the newer one coming out it looks like you can set traps now. Oh, and another horrifying fact; your camera WILL run out of batteries so you gotta keep an eye out for them. Otherwise you’ll be roaming in the dark which makes it even more terrifying

I used to play this while on the PlayStation chat with some friends, while they played it. I remember we used to stop a certain checkpoints to wait for the others. One of them one time was out of batteries and all they were doing was just hiding staring at the game, because they didn't wanna go on without the batteries 🤣

The guy they cut to playing in the coffee shop is the voice actor for the protagonists of all the games which makes his yelp of fear even more meta.
There actually isn't an Outlast VR. The developers have been asked about it many times but it's just not on their cards right now. They've built a really engaging and interesting universe though on top of making great horror games.

The most horrific thing about outlast is that it’s based on real torture experiments undertaken by the CIA called mkultra. The experiments are interestingly enough what caused the Unabomber to go completely insane
when he says that was twisted. I was like these trailers are not even showing some of the most fucked up moments.

For games like this it's why I love videogames, in the cinematographic industry only 1 or 2 movies make me feel scary, but in videogame are games thats only seeing a gameplay are such terrifying or touch your emotions, the empathy you feel when you see or play a game it's uncomparable

What's even more frightening is seeing the doctor's torture in this game, even though I finished liking so damn much when he finds ya and screams "Buddy!". Not a single person has ever called me with so much enthusiasm irl.

Outlast is one of my favorite game series of all time. So creepy and heart racing. Once you play it, nothing truly scares you anymore.

You two should definitely play this. The trailers just aren’t the same as being in a dark room, hearing someone in there with you and scrambling to change the battery in your camera

Fun fact about the inverted cross, it's also known as the Cross of Saint Peter as, when sentenced to death by crucifixion he asked to be crucified upside down as he felt unworthy to die as Christ did. It's even on the back of the Pope's chair.

i personally fell in love with the stories of the outlast games and the way they're told. its not just a scary game; it has so many details, deep stories about characters and over all just a great game; i had to watch videos on the lore of the game to fully undrestand the horror and the story thats is shown.
Games for sure look scary and would freak us out playing them 🙈

one of my favorite horror games of all time. played through it on highest difficulty and i usually dont play through games enough times to even attempt such a thing

These trailers don't do the games scary nature justice. The tension and atmosphere is so immensely, disturbingly, terrifying! This is still, 8 years later, the only game I've bought that I returned the same day xD Those first 10 mins, up to the Asylum, climbing into the open window into the dark room..., the corridor, the *REDACTED* that when *REDACTED* , then I said "NO! NOPE! NO WAY I AM PLAYING THIS", and that was it.
With that said, you should play it. At least try it! :P

Outlast, a true meaning of survival horror, no special training or weapons, just hide from the enemies or die. Amazing settings and atmosphere. Great video and keep being awesome

Seen playthroughs of this game in the past, and it sure has lots of gory and even very....disturbing...scenes and scenarios. A real horror game for sure, so even though the trailers don't show as much of it's hideous content as playing it would, you picked the suiting ones for this season. ^^

The part that Ken said sounds 'gibberish' I think is the original dialogue just being played backwards and with the music it gives a more creepy feel to it.

Outlast 1 scares me bc of the concept of abuse in hospitals and mental institutions, Whistleblower scares me bc of its themes of body horror relating to the female body and Outlast 2 scares me bc of the religious horror imagery

Something to note for the reversed audio for the Outlast 2 trailer was that the guy speaking said: "On the fourth month, and twenty second day, of the sixteenth, of the third millennium our reckoning begins"
Which is April, 22nd, 2016 as in the date that Outlast 2 would originally release. THAT is awesome

This game came out after amnesia the dark descent ;which was another big stepping stone in horror. and to say the least took the world by storm. The thought of a prequel and multiplayer game for this series was a fun surprise. You guys should check out amnesia 1&2 trailers

Outlast 1 is a game with that night vision perspective I think first in horror game industry... it was first time experience for most players, some players and youtubers I think stopped and take a break from game because it is so much fun and intense in same time...

OUTLAST1 and the DLC: WHISTLEBLOWER were terrifying. Read everything you come across and explore everywhere. The story is in the papers. Batteries are plentiful if you explore. Also play on easy mode. You kids will do fine. However OUTLAST 2 you WILL get lost easily and very frustrated.especially on harder difficulties. Especially since a few of the enemies run faster then you.

Personally, I find horror games generally less scary in VR because you feel like you have a bit more control over your character's movements.
We have never played in vr before but that’s a good point 🙂 plus we like to play together 🤗

I've got an opinion on outlast, but I already know I'm gonna ramble... so prepare for that.
I think the massive appeal to the first game at least issss being scared.
I happen to be someone who doesn't scare easily lol. I lived at my grams on my dads side the first few years of my life and she LOVES horror. She's even been featured in our local paper for how hard she goes for Halloween. So in turn my dad loves horror too, so that's just what was always going on in the house. I even inherited the trait from my gram that I don't ever turn lights on. My game room doesn't even have a light bulb put in lol. My dad also most my life was becoming a doctor so there were medical books everywhere all the time. So combined all that suspense, monsters, and gore don't bother me one bit lol.
In today's world of jumpscares I feel like there's a little bit of God compensation happening. I have very extreme Ehler Danlos Hyper Mobility so my joints and soft tissue are really bad and I dislocate easily. I'm 25 and can't use my left shoulder anymore it's locked in place, I had my first knee replacement when I was 14. So for as much as I can't really move, I can at least react super quickly to things. So every time there's a jumpscare in anything there's like a 0.00001 second of OMG but I always realize what's happening before there's any physical reaction.
I'm not fearless. My fears are just stupid like snakes.... and ladders. So being being immune to scares outlast provides I just didn't have fun with it so I never even looked into the 2nd game.
But I can assure you. The trailer that started with the burning cross, my black ass almost lept out the chair. Crazy white people? Now that's scary to me!

The Outlast series is great! Very tense and scary, especially if you get wigged out by being chased. The Whistleblower DLC is probably my favorite of it all, but it's all great.
If you want another suggestion, the best horror game I've ever played is free on Steam and called Cry of Fear. If you've not seen that, I highly recommend it, because it is so atmospheric and eerie, and even being given guns to help you fight back doesn't make you feel safe because the unsettling imagery, monsters, and soundtrack are unrelenting.

Yeah yeah ... I was watching a video that my younger brother recorded playing Outlast 1 and playing 2 ... and I have to write that it's a really extremely scary game ... really nothing for the faint of heart and that's Outlast 3 too .

On the sort of horror topic has anyone suggested subnautica to the definitive power couple? If you guys have space in your schedule it’s a game and series I have loved for many years now!! Would be super cool if you looked into it!

Maybe you dont get to find fire arms in real life as many games do it... But im sure the first thing i would do is to look for a pipe, a kitchen knife, or even a chair and use it as a weapon. And maybe scrap together a better one later. Usualy i dont like horror movies or games because i cant protect myself in them, and im not the fleeing type. But i would be happy to see your walkthrough of it ;D
See now piecing together things and using random items laying around for protection would be a cool game mechanic. And also if you had scissors or something. They are gonna get stuck in someone so it’s like almost a one time use thing. That would be fun for a horror game to have something like that where you don’t get main weapons but instead, anything can be used as a weapon 🙂
