Hello, you need to get the computer with the same exact part number as your original computer. Otherwise it will not work. Different computers got different part numbers to them which means that they have different hardware as well and you will not be able to program it.

Mine is starting, but it starts running bad and shutting off at a stop. When it is running bad it also won't go into overdrive and I can hear something clicking in the dash. I own a toyota Landcruiser Prado from Japan 1KZ-TE 4 cyl diesel . Sometimes the glowplugs don't come on. . The engine cranks but won't start because the glowplugs are not getting power. Is this a problem usually related to the ECU?
For my 1996 Hilux surf I had the same issue and for me it was the ecu. Replaced the glow plugs first because well cheap and easy. The replaced the ECU and no further problem. The new glow plugs didn't help however the old glow plugs 2 were bad.
@@nonenone5023 My problem turned out to be corrosion in the ECU, and not glow plug related. I should have noticed the engine light wasn't coming on either, which would have shown me it wasn't a glow plug issue.

my 1994 Toyota Pickup OEM ECU failed in 2016, replaced with remanufactured ECU from rockauto and worked fine until 2022 this ECU failed again with code 42 but code disappears. replaced with another remanufactured ECU. Truck started operated normally after 10km same thing happened engine just shuts off and reading code 42 again. Truck wont start, no codes or check engine light.

1991 Camry 2.0l 2wd DX . Started fine until changed fuel filter and pulled the efi fuse to crank and relieve fuel pressure . BUT..I forgot to pull the battery cable when pulled fuse 2 x and now cranks but no start no check engine light .💢Did I just kill the cpu? 🤬

Old Toyotas are classics at blowing caps on the ecu a friend of mine was pretty good at fix them on Toyotas soarer and work all the time

Hello, It can be the ECU for sure, you must understand that if it is the original computer it is 30+ years old with no service

My sins 97 t-100 is pulling a p1600 code starts seems to run ok no engine light but loses power when trying to accelerate no other codes present

You need to check your engine! Make sure you will check the injection system and the air intake. After the checking, double check!
