Imagine Raven just drinking some tea, until suddenly her semblance is just like, “you know Yang and how you know where she is and basically everything about her status? Now you don’t.” Then Raven is like, “HOL UP WTF!”
This would have been a familiar feeling. Yang went into the Mistral vault to get the lamp. Raven would have felt Yang disappearing from Remnant. At the time, she would have known that is because she entered the vault. So when it happened again now in Atlas, Raven would deduce that Yang had also gone into a vault again. This would be a good educated guess, considering Ruby's message to the world about the shit that is going on in Atlas. I am not sure Raven will want to come anywhere near Atlas, considering she is running away from Salem. She does not know at this point Salem is temporarily defeated.
@@bangscutter except that Yang blinked back into Remnant for a few seconds before disappearing again. And if she was in a vault for as long as it's probably been since RWBY walked into the path to Vacuo, Raven would probably be worried about someone possibly knocking Yang into the vault and possibly killing her in there. Remember that in volume 2, Raven sensed Neo was going to kill Yang, so I think if Yang's been gone from Raven's semblance for a good bit of time, she'll use the link for the person she knew would be closest, Qrow.
Blake was so heartbroken and angry over Yang’s “death” that I honestly see her killing Neo despite not wanting to take anymore lives. Keep in kind that not even Adam made her this mad so I see Blake going for blood next episode.
@@10tailedbijuu That was not cold blooded murder. It wasn't even murder, by definition. It was self defense, and definitely not an accident. If they hadn't killed him, he would have killed Blake. They gave him several opportunities to stop and leave and he attacked, intending to kill them.
Ironwood cried from his left eye since that was his human side. He cared for Winter on a personal level and I think he was saddened that his mind was driving him to fight her even if inside he didn’t want to. It’s just really sad tbh
Penny didn’t realize she still had the relic, she was wondering where Floating Array was before realizing it was in her robot body. Just before she looks back you can see her do her swoopy arm thing for when she deploys her weapon and then look confused when it hasn’t appeared.
What broke my heart this episode was when Blake tried to jump after Yang like she was willing to follow Yang into death and I found that so heart wrenching, another thing when Jinn looked so shocked when Cinder asked the question was like she didn’t want to
@@IamCanadian3333 She didn't Yang is a Main character her name is part of the title damn it. And Roosterteeth had even said they'd never Kill off the Main cast
Regarding why Yang’s Aura went when Weiss’ did not. You can actually get the idea about this from Volume 4, funny enough. Her talk with Tai Yang during her training. He mentions “What will happen if you use your Semblance, but the enemy is stronger? You’ll be left tired and helpless.” More or less the quote. Yang’s semblance lets her bounce back damage, but only if she has aura left. And given she hasn’t been boosted by Jaune like Weiss was, hasn’t had any sleep in the last 24-48 hours, was caught in the Magic Nuke, was in the Tundra, fighting grimm and Salem even? Her aura was bound to be running low. And I theorize she takes Double Damage when her Semblance is active cuz that is how she can biunce back far more than you’d expect. She was left exhausted, unable to even move once her Aura broke. Thats why she was so vulnerable, and why she fell with a broke aura.
I feel like the fallen tear is him crying due to his inability to defy his semblance. I too would cry if i was unable to save myself from something I can’t break free from. His semblance makes him a heartless machine, or a Tin Man, even if he doesn’t want to. He already lamented how bad things get during a battle, as he rolled his robotic shoulder in V3. I feel like his semblance definitely was the cause of him being bionic.
This is the most perfect reference I have ever seen and winter better have use time dilation with a summon I have always wanted to see if that would work
Ironwood is such a complex character. He genuinely cares about her deep down, but not enough to stop him from trying to murder her if it means he can accomplish his stupid goal.
The fact that he not only didn't shoot her the first time he disobeyed him, but was actually still willing to keep her as his second-in-command is a testament to that. He was willing to shoot Marrow *in the back* but gave Winter a second chance.
I thought Cinder Fall was gonna fall, but instead she made a bunch of other people fall instead. I see how it is CRWBY. I see how it is. Also I think Penny looking towards her back and getting hit by Cinder was her forgetting that she doesn't have access to Floating Array anymore now that she's a real girl.
It's pretty much impossible for Cinder to fall anyway, given that none of the heroes are strong enough to defeat her and also the fact that Cinder can fly.
thinking about it, the only other times i remember yang getting hit while her semblance is active is when adam cut her arm off and when he hit her prosthetic arm, and both times her aura broke almost immediately afterwards. thinking about this + neo's attack, the theory of yang becoming a glass cannon while her semblance is active makes a lot of sense.
I want to point out, Yang was the PERFECT person to fall off, from a plot perspective. Let me explain. The pathways and gates are golden. The particale effects are golden as well. Let's say Blake fell off instead. If, when she reached the 'edge' of the realm, the dust effect was purple, we can conclude that she did die. If it was yellow, we can conclude that something else is going on. But, with Yang, who's Aura is yellow, we won't know until we are shown it. A clever way to play on our emotions!
That's a smart way to be obscure about a main character "death" I suppose, but I really doubt Yang would die. Rt has had, up till this point, always given RWBY the upper hand. They beat the Ace Ops because of their superior teamwork, they beat Torchwick in a mech, Yang beat all of those people in the club in her trailer. I doubt RT would make this "death" anything more than temporary
To all the people who are worried that Yang died, don't worry there is no way in hell she is dead. She is a main character and the writers have said that before the team RWBY goes to Vacuo they will take a detour. That detour is likely at the bottom of the pit where Yang is.
Part of me thinks that Blakes semblance will evolve or change next episode. Her semblance lets her make clones, so maybe she could evolve it to create multiple more durable clones at once to help her friends. With the presumed death of Yang and the and now having to deal with the villains, it think it would make some sense, because semblances are tied to emotions in some way.
Yes!!! That would make so much sense! There were a few seconds when Blake looked between all her friends and how they're fighting, as well as to the people who were evacuating. This was a cliché "I'm looking at all my problems and I'm gonna solve how I'm gonna tackle them all at once". I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought she would be awakening her semblance!
I agree! Especially in that zoomed shot of her just looking at all the chaos around her, and it seems they're really pushing that idea of Blake wishing she could be in multiple places at once, so I hope this happens
I honestly keep forgetting about Pietro and Maria. I'm so curious when they'll show back up. Preflexes honestly would have been super useful in this realm and against Neo.
@@matthewmccoyd7742 Well some of them had to go ahead and Emerald doesn't have a hunter's license to try and gain trust with and Ren's semblance was pretty critical for securing the arrival point. So if that's the real reason why, they at least grounded it in what makes sense in the narrative.
Why would she sense Yang’s death? As far as we’ve seen, none of the maidens possess clairvoyance. And Raven wasn’t exactly mother of the year. At this point, Willow was probably a better mom than Raven.
As someone who’s lost interest in all characters but Neo. I was cheering when Yang fell off the platform. No doubt Yang will be back. But I am so proud of Neo!
I'd say this episode dispels the idea that breaking Ironwood's aura would bring him back to his senses. Perhaps his ideas were being affected by Mettle, but they were his ideas to begin with.
We haven’t seen Blake this broken since Volume 2 when she wasn’t sleeping or eating. I was going to say that maybe Ruby would tell Neo the truth about how and why Roman died. But now, I think it’s too late and doesn’t seem to care anymore
@@jamesmacleod9382 first of all she’s been by Roman’s side since being introduced in Volume 2. And second since Neo’s return in Volume 6 she’s been wearing Torchwick’s hat

It's inevitable really. Cinder has been taking the L for too long, and she needs to have a victory at some point before the finale. Otherwise she will continue to be a running gag of failure and no one will take her seriously. This is the Empire Strikes Back volume.
@@quincyconnors9391 Lmao I want the exact opposite... I just want Cinder to finally succeed for once haha. Then maybe she can start being an interesting villain.

I feel like Yang's Semblance turns her into a berserker, in that she gains a massive boost to her dps, at the sacrifice of temporarily turning herself into a glass cannon.
Great assumption yet the only problem is that Yang has dealt with Blows before With a Full to medium aura on her body , From Roman in the mech smashing her through a Iron beam and her standing back up , to Yang Getting Chomped onto by a Giant Sized bear ( Ursa Grimm ) and Even from Fighting both neon and Flint at the same Time to eventually defeat them . Adam sliced her arm do to her aura probably being low or because his Semblance can literally Vaporize opponents with a single absorbed blast ever since the Black Trailer . My quick point is that no doubt she is an amazing Dps made character yet during all the battles I've stated she won in those odds except Adam . Which means to have Power you must have aura and to have aura remaining to sustain her punching. Tumbling and facing opponents for atleast a couple of seconds or minuets before it runs out should be enough to handle Neo's hit because neo isn't the most powerful or strongest character just because she is sneaky and sly . So being a Glass cannon would be an awesome thing but idk
I do recall early in the series she explains the more damage she takes, the stronger she gets. I know physics would be a problem when a fight broke out, but I didn't expect her to have her aura broken. Maybe to make sure she'd fall like a normal individual and not use her guns to change her trajectory?
@@tarkjj6043 Exactly she can fall like a regular person but her Power allows her to take as much damage needed and apply that Damage against opponents for a period of time but how can she do that if her aura was weak in the first place ? It doesn't make sense on how she Was even Defeated with an aura break or Half conscious . It seems like an excuse to make the characters just loose and not a legit reasoning .
I'm certain Yang is still alive, she had plots unresolved, and is one of the four titular characters, she would not die before the final season. Also I've noticed Yang seems to get the short end of the stick with team RWBY, she has the worst injury of them, and now she is the first to fall.
@@themultiversegamer551 I thought the toxic side of the fandom DID want the bad guys to win and for RWBY to be separated and stuff. Like, most of the hate on RWBy apparently (don't quote me on this) stems from them winning too much. The bad guys barely won and the good guys always come back somehow. Ironwood is threatening to blow up a city? Emerald conveniently joins the group which brings a powerful illusionist to their game plan! Qrow and Robyn are making a break for it tot he ship and the Ace Ops are on their tail? Marrow has also turned tail and is fully on board with stopping his team alongside Winter. Yang is falling into the abyss? Well we have no answer to that, RWBY are definitely going to have a "girl who fell from the world" arc somewhere in V9
Man . . . this episode was a gut punch. Plain and simple. Also can we talk about all of the "deaths"? Cinder knocked a whole bunch off the platform. Yang effectively fell to her death. Jacques got killed by Ironwood. Penny has a high chance of not only dying next episode but losing her Maiden Power. Also why am I worried Ironwood will kill Winter next? And let's not forget that horde of Grimm going towards our heroes. Also I love Harriet's reasoning for the bomb "Clover would see it through." And I'm thinking . . . luv. Clover would of defected if he were still alive lol. Clover like Winter followed orders to a point, but not to insanity.
You’re giving a character props, when their actions prove otherwise. We didn’t know Clover enough to say what he’d do. He’s the guy who couldn’t even put his orders aside for a second to deal with a serial killer, instead of fighting someone he regards as a friend. Clover was great, but Robin said it best- he was flawed. I think it’s easy to project some kind of head canon on a dead character.
So many problems would have been avoided if Team RWBY had said "oh don't forget some safety railings". It is also kind of ironic that in Neo's quest for revenge, she's set Blake on the same path of vengeance by "killing" Yang.
That’s the thing about revenge. It’s a cycle of hate and destruction that only serves to cause hate and destruction. Neo Blamed Ruby for Roman’s death and later kills Yang when she’s trying to kill Ruby which sets Blake on that path and I wouldn’t be surprised if in her path of Revenge after killing Neo she sends someone else on that path. Maybe Neo’s family or some bystander who got hurt in the process.
@@Vigriff this specific situation probably. But sooner or later someone would have died in Neo’s quest for revenge and continued the cycle. Perhaps she might have succeeded have drew Yang or any other member of RWBY toward vengeance continuing it.
I think it’d be interesting if Yang just straight up died there but I kinda doubt it considering the show is called rwby. If the show was called Ruby I could see it happening but since Yang’s name is actually in the title I kinda doubt she or any member of RWBY would die. At least not until the end of the show. I mean I guess it’s not impossible she’ll die maybe they’ll find someone else to be the y in rwby. Either way I’m really interested to see what’ll happen next. Speaking of people potentially dying please don’t let penny die I mean she just became a real girl.
The way ambrosius said DO NOT FALL and then stated it was a dire warning definitely implies something bad will happen if you fall. So it may not be something as simple as being transported to another place or time, a place that could easily be escapable. Maybe this rift in the universe could have dire repercussions like breaking the universe or something like that. Either way I’m very interested to see what will happen.
@@Just_Ryan I think Yang falling will be the final thing to set Ruby off completely, like she’ll have her aura broken and it’ll hit her all at once, maybe even meaning her grief will activate her silver eyes and light up the entire subspace, even the portals which might help Oscar, Ren and Emerald
well, it does seem strongly likely that all 4 of them fall as it is near coincidence that Yang fell first both in the story and in the opening song, so falling itself doesn't necessarily means they die, the same way, Salem doesn't need to die to be defeated. either, there is something way in the bottom, or it is just an endless void and if anything Yang could sleep 8 hours and wake up with aura filled back (even if partially) then boost herself up to the passages that may or may not be empty by then.
18:54 I saw that scene as Penny trying to summon her remote swords but realizing she doesn't have them anymore since she's a human now. She then recreates them with the Maiden powers
Imagine if yang did survive but she's different like she cant remember anything and if she ever sees team RWBY again she wouldn't even know who they are

I think the writers to be honest screwed with season 8 , IM SO SORRY TO SAY THIS but its true , the facts that our heroes can't simply Win one Simple battle is simply insane and what I mean by win is actually win . The writter wrote Ironwood and Some of the aceops to be blind and bad just so that Things can get this Grimm in Season 8 , It also seems that The enemy always has an advantage and our heroes are just never good enough to actually do what a hero does ... save people and win . Sure you loose battles and all its what helps the story but when you loose even the simple missions like , Successfully getting everyone into vacuo or Actually keeping up amity or Team Team rwby Whooping Cinder for once , or Yang shooting neo instead of Jumping in the way or not Blaming iron for being bad because of his semblance which is kinda why were in such a screw up in the firstplace lmbo There are sooo many things rwby hasn't given me a reason to hope on for the series that its extremely sad .

This volume i have to admit felt a bit tame, considering how they said this half was going to be the darkest yet, I felt there was very little death. I can definitely say they made up for it this episode. Once I saw that Team RWBY was fighting Cinder, I immediately expected someone from Team RWBY to fall so unfortunately Yang falling didn't have the same impact that Clover's death did since it was a complete surprise. As for the others, Weiss is already close to exhaustion and if Blake joins the fight against Cinder, it seems likely they might fall as well. They Ruby fighting Neo might go a similar way...

Neo will not find out what happened to Roman. Ruby is in no mood to converse with our little ice cream girl, because as far as Ruby is concerned Neo just killed Yang. There is no room for Ruby to try and talk Neo down they are both fully invested in this fight.
My theory is that when you fall you get scattered somewhere between atlas and Vacuo because the staff of creation cannot destroy. Therfore Yang is auraless and lost in between kingdoms and now she is forced to fight her way to vacuo.
Ok ok ok now it literally written in the sky that the rest of Team RWBY are going to fall, Blake will fall because like Harriet, she won't be able to snap out of her rage, Weiss will fall because she will be tired and Cinder will make her fall and Ruby, I think she will have a mental breakdown and jump to be with her team forever. Ironwood will fall down because Qrow, upon learning that his nieces have disappear into the void, will take James with him. Harriet, Vine and Elm: are dead. I think Team JNPR, Emerald, Winter, Maria and Pietro will survive and go to Vacuo, just like the Happy Huntresses(and Robin). Finally, my prediction for Volume 9, I think that Team RWBY, Qrow and Ironwood will be in different places in the history of Remnant and will have to find a way back where they come from and a way to each other and during so, the situations they are going to be in will change them for the better or the worse, to know we'll have to wait. On a side note, @Phoenix/Night, everytime that I watch one of your videos, you are able to make my emotions go awry with the words and the tone of voice that you use can be quite ominous, it's refreshing and different. Continue to make more videos, they are great.
one thing you don't seem to cover is while penny used the maiden powers quickly for a replacement to her thrusters, she didn't immediately remember the fact she no longer had Floating Array. The picture you have of Penny looking at the staff I believe is when she was looking behind to notice the missing weapon as just moments before her movements were similar to when she used the weapon in the past. though after this she does use her maiden powers to make a new set.
I have a theory about yang falling and disappearing, it might be similar to Thor: ragnarok, where Thor and Loki were pushed out of the bifrost by hela, which sent them to the garbage planet, yang could possibly be sent somewhere random in remnant
Even when she's being smart, Cinder is still an idiot. If she destroys the realm with her attacks she'll be trap with them forever. The single constant about her character baring her selfishness and typical awful self, it's that she ruins everything.
my opinion that Cinder wouldn’t deserve to redemption (but kudos to the artist for Cinder’s outfit design) cuz 1. she’s too obsessed w power (tho she did listen to Watts), 2. She force Emerald doing dirty works beside made Penny destroyed since V3 and yes Cinder doesn’t care about Emerald (Mercury was right tho and I was hoping he would listen to Emerald too) 3. She implied Weiss, almost and 4. Her backstory sad but still no excuse after the Beacon incident. In conclusion: Beside Illia, Emerald and Hazel. I might still hope for Mercury if he change his though I’m not sure for Neo but Ruby would reason to her that Roman was eaten by a Grimm and Cinder tricked Neo
@@ponytailmoth8548 The whole point of Cinder's character development this Volume wasn't to make Cinder redeemable, but rather to transform her into the effective mastermind of a villain that she was in the first 3 Volumes. She doesn't intend to become a better person morally, rather much better at doing bad things. Now the threat that Cinder presents will be infinitely greater, now that she has evolved as a villain and a character.
Dude when Salem hears about the relic of knowledge being reacquired by cinder she’s gonna be relieved but if Salem finds out Cinder used it for reconnaissance, Cinder is gonna have to make her a new relic outta scratch lmao. But I think cinder is gonna lie about team RWBY using it and watts is gonna stay silent out of respect for Cinders change in attitude towards him. Also Neo is gonna stay silent cause.. yeah. Also the theory about them going through time if they fall into the waypoint abyss, if they go back in time far enough (say 100 years) and are physically manifested and leave the relic of knowledge somewhere and then pick it up when they return to the present, wouldn’t the relics questions reset? Also I know that kind of a paradox because there will technically be two relic of knowledge from volume 1 to 8 but then again there are multiple dimensions. Lastly, the abyss most likely wouldn’t destroy anything because if it did then why not just throw a relic into the void. A relic would be permanently destroyed and Salem would have to search for another occupation lmao.
Along that line of thought, I a curious what happens when you use the lamp of knowledge while in this "in between worlds"? It's space outside of normal dimension, and presumably outside the normal flow of time too. Perhaps Jinn's rule of only 3 questions per 100 years does not apply anymore in that space, and she can freely answer any number of questions. Or even more remarkable, summoning a spirit in such a space may result in them breaking free of their chains. They will no longer be bound by the relic, and become free like the free Genie in Aladdin.
Indeed. Though another possibility could be that Cinder finally breaks away from Salem this Volume, as has been alluded to. If Cinder views the acquisition of the powers of 2 Maidens and 2 Relics to be a good enough start, she could betray Salem and seek out the rest for herself, with potentially Watts and Neo making up the new Cinder's Faction, given that she's just given the both of them respect, recognition, and pretty much everything they ever wanted.
I think Yang’s semblance works like sacrificing aura for power. Her anger is what actives it usually but to gain that power she needs to give up some of that defense. Like trading in defense for offense
The only way that I can see Yang coming back is Raven opening a portal to her. It could lead up to some great dialogue and a lot of tears Edit: I did not wait before commenting this lol
Lol If Raven made it to Atlas early enough to get into the Realm before Yang fell then it's possible but I just have a hard time believing that a semblance, even one enhanced with magic, can interfere with something created by a relic
@@PhoenixNight to be honest, I don't see why Raven's portal couldn't go to a different dimension. I mean, it's already a portal that can teleport as many people as she wants, either to her or from her (see V5C11). It's already super powerful and comparable to the portals that Ambrosius created. The only limitation is that she'd need someone who's already in a different dimension to create one to go there. Unless it's stated in the companion book (but I don't have it >
While I think Yang will make it out of this sooner or later, I'd like to see some time pass before her return. Like, maybe one season. Keep us waiting. YOOO! When when Blake and Yang reunite... be still, my romantic heart. 😭
I'm just hoping whatever was done to Yang allows her to survive. When Yang fell, i cried. It felt like a bury your gays moment. The only thing nearly as sad was when I thought Marrow died. Also, the way the platforms were so narrow made my anxiety flare up.
I don't think Yang disintegrated. To me it looked more like she was consumed by the darkness, like falling to a black space. But then her aura colour was trailed with her disappearance and that doesn't seem to do much with being transported.
This is all because Penny didn't take the opportunity to slaughter cinder when she had the chance at amity, now every death caused by cinder is because of her not taking action.
ME TOO I thought that she would make a stronger version of her shadows when she watched and dying, maybe later when she fought neo, probably spamming an exaggerated amount of shadows or making the "alive" being able to move and confuse her enemies, similar to sun's semblance
@@arigatoespacialsuperadmiti7316 that's what I theorize. Her semblance evolving because I believe she is the only one of team RWBY that hasn't had her semblance evolve or "show growth" in a way: Etc: Yang learning how to control hers back in vol 4, and Ruby having hers highlighted by Oscar when she split herself into 4s during their training in vol 7. In times of stress, or at random, as long as you exercise it like a muscle or meditate on it more, like Rens.
Obviously the thing with Yang falling off the bridges is that...She's MOST LIKELY not dead, like this gives off a similar vibe to Weiss being impaled in V5. The golden glow that surrounds Yang as she falls doesn't reach her center, it acts more like some kind of puddle or pool, so most likely it'll be some kind of stargate type deal toward a new world or new location
I think if yang is alive there are 2 options for that. 1 She is saved by something in that relm. 2 she finds the atlas vault as the door is was never closed and leaves
It was the worst possible question. It basically ends Jinn as a character, completely ends and tension associated with the relic and Blows any chance to give Salem to use Jinn for nasty or mean reasons. So many cool backstory possibilities or plot twists... what a WASTE!
@@staypuftmmm9247 Completely agree, especially since it would not have been that difficult to figure out what Team RWBY was planning through other means.
I heard about someone saying that RWBY will all fall like in the intro not just Yang I thought I saw Yang’s aura or something disintegrate at the end tho so she might be dead tho I doubt it
Something I just realized....Sometimes it's worth it all, to risk the fall. What if Blake falls next episode, but Ruby notices something's off. Some sign that, maybe they aren't dead. Ruby and Weiss then take one final risk, and jump, hoping to get their friends back.
yang doesn't die, and Raven will save her with her semblance. Also, birds of a feather will be cannon, and maybe vine and Harriet will be cannon as well
I really enjoy your episode discussions! It's a bit odd to say, but the change in pace to something more analytical that isn't other content creators bashing the writers/screaming about how the scenes aren't perfect/cliche is quite nice to hear. There's a focus on the plot and discussion about the characters - and not so much on the flaws of the creators.
Another note: If yang doesn’t die physically, a part of what makes her yang would still die if we’re going with the theory that the “The girl who fell through the world” story was direct foreshadowing. Yang wouldn’t come back the same...
I had the theory that there might be some time manipulation like Narnia where she'll be trapped in a dimension for years and see some shit only to come back with almost no time or very little time passing.
19:25 am I the only one who is thinking of Sajin Komamura's(bleach) shikai ability whenever Weiss uses the armored Gigus? You know how he uses parts of Tenken.
Wait I thought what happened to Roman was common knowledge. He was eaten by a Grimm. Neo was possibly the only other person of note who doesn't know this, because she was blown off the surface of the airship by a strong gust of wind beforehand.
What if falling changes someone's personality? It could be through magic or some adventure but in "The Girl Who Fell Through the World" it said she wasn't the same person.
I have a feeling that once all of Team RWBY falls, that they traveled to the past and we will see an older Team RWBY who had been waiting for them and it will be them who defeat the Grimm forces attacking their friends....we will not see them doing this until Cinder comes through the portal with the relics in hand to bask in the horrifying looks of Ruby's Friends only to have an older Team RWBY stepping out of the sand storm and end the season with them saying "Surprise to see us?"
Ngl I kinda thought they were going to give Jacques a redemption arc, but I guess not Ironwood killed that possibility before it could be released. Honestly I’m disappointed in Neo because she didn’t use the last question on something that would’ve worked for her... like asking about Roman or asking for herself where Ruby was. Unfortunately we’ll never know what actually happened to Roman because the Celestial being that could’ve answered this has run out of questions. I honestly think that it is fitting for Watts to fall with Atlas because he’s pretty much done everything that he’s always wanted to do. On the topic of Team FNKI, I really really hope that they are able to get out of Atlas because Neon is so precious and needs to survive..... same with Yang. I really really really hope that she doesn’t actually die because she is one of my favorite characters and honestly I see a lot of Yang in myself and I would absolutely hate for her to die this soon especially with an obvious closeness to Bumblebee being cannon. I literally was in shock for the majority of the episode after Yang fell. I really hope that none of Team RWBY and friends dies, but unfortunately I do understand the idea of Winter and Ironwood both dying together. In Vacuo though I would love to see Team CFVY, SSSNN, the headmaster, etc coming to the rescue from the sudden spike of people out of nowhere
I’m afraid that Qrow, Robyn and everyone else in the ships won’t be able to go through a portal and therefore sip out of the current cast for the next volume, unless they do get through a portal
Out of everyone that could fall!! It had to be YANG!!!??!! GOD DAMN IT!!!! They just had to ruin Bumbelbee did they.... this volume is such a heart breaker
I believe that yang didn’t disappear, since in the opening it showed them falling in a water like substance and compared to the vaults you can see a Mirage that looks like a liquid on the ‘walls’
post credits yang wakes up in the classic "dont go towards the light" scenario summer is in the light yang looks behind her and sees a horde of grimm (and possibly adam) but deeper in she sees her friends crying so after a moment to think, she decides to charge right into the horde then she wakes up in [REDACTED]
Neo is pretty dumb, I must admit. And right now I'm really sick of Cinders character, this should of been Salem volume to shine as the big bad. Instead she's been nerfed and taken out until god knows when
Bye bye Salem, nice knowing you, you had so much potential to be a great character, but you were destroyed by terrible writers who were more interested in keeping Jessica Negri on the pay role.
Oh, screw you.. Salem is pretty boring fearful Big Bad. I always found Сinder *the* most interesting character in rwby, and now i'm still watching it almost ONLY because of her.
@@Vidimuss Really, it's a shame nobody agrees with you, Cinder the worst character in animation. Salems a million times more interesting than her garbage character.
So... Something I haven't heard talked about with regard to Djinn. She stated that she is capable of answering 3 questions every 100yrs. There has been ZERO mention of WHEN that 100yr cooldown starts. My thinking is that her ability is just on a rolling 100yr timer, meaning that regadless of whether questions are asked.. every 100yrs it is reset. In theory, the 100yrs could be up relatively soon. Also, I am completely on board with the theory that Raven is forced to choose between staying hidden with maiden powers, or jumping into the fray to save Yang. Also, with regard to your Adam/Yang Vol 3 interaction. I think it was a case of Yang all ready have exhausted herself over the course of the battle. I am inclined to think that Yangs aura was sufficiently weakened that when Adam (appeared to have) used Moonslice... It was sufficient to obliterate her aura and sever her arm. In fact, this is mentioned in Adam Taurus's wiki. So bears consideration.
The timing on Cinder asking about team RWBY+'s plans is crazy. They only had an hour to make the plan and act already, and Cinder had to have asked after they finished coming up with it and have her group make and execute their plans.
Helping Yang ??
we don't know what Tai's semblance is, we know they are together right now, maybe together they can save her?
Blake was so heartbroken and angry over Yang’s “death” that I honestly see her killing Neo despite not wanting to take anymore lives. Keep in kind that not even Adam made her this mad so I see Blake going for blood next episode.
@@10tailedbijuu well they gave him a chance and he wouldn’t listen. Blake definitely defended herself and yang tried to stop him from hurting her.
@@10tailedbijuu That was not cold blooded murder. It wasn't even murder, by definition. It was self defense, and definitely not an accident. If they hadn't killed him, he would have killed Blake. They gave him several opportunities to stop and leave and he attacked, intending to kill them.
Blake cant and wont kill Neo. She'll be clouded by hew blood lust and get knocked off too
Blake "You'll pay Neo, If I have to chase you forever, You'll pay"
Welp Blake is falling next
Ironwood cried from his left eye since that was his human side. He cared for Winter on a personal level and I think he was saddened that his mind was driving him to fight her even if inside he didn’t want to. It’s just really sad tbh
She was like a daughter to him :(
Yeah. It’s like he’s a vampire from TVD with his humanity switch flipped. So sad. 😢
Penny didn’t realize she still had the relic, she was wondering where Floating Array was before realizing it was in her robot body. Just before she looks back you can see her do her swoopy arm thing for when she deploys her weapon and then look confused when it hasn’t appeared.
That’s what I thought too.
What broke my heart this episode was when Blake tried to jump after Yang like she was willing to follow Yang into death and I found that so heart wrenching, another thing when Jinn looked so shocked when Cinder asked the question was like she didn’t want to
What hurts more is that you can see she probably would have jumped after Yang, but Weiss was holding her back
I am really hoping that Yang didn't die! D:
Either way if they have romantic feelings or not I would have had the same reaction if a friend fell of something like this.

And Roosterteeth had even said they'd never Kill off the Main cast
@@shelbybayer200 Oh okay, interesting, well no grieving yet then.
I wasn’t expecting the jump-cut of Cinder, Neo, and Watts entering the control center to showing everyone dead. Anxiousness went 📈
Awe man. My anxiety was through the roof this ENTIRE episode. Yang 😭 I really hope she’s okay but it really feels like she isn’t
@@RedEveTillDawn she's still alive but idk if she's alright
Whole episode was just so tragic. Reminds me of the fall of Beacon.
Am I the only one who was in their feelings when a tear dropped from Ironwood. It felt like he was shredding the final piece of himself
Honestly same. Surprisingly that was the scene that hit me straight in the feels.
Screw Ironwood he brought this on Himself no tears will settle his Mistake only His blood will
I think it's like when Ceasar was betrayed by Brutus. Winter was probably the last person Ironwood expects to betray him.
Iron wood was my favorite characters it makes me so sad to see what he has become.
Winter in the next episode be like:
My name is Winter Schnee, you killed my father, prepare to die!
This is the most perfect reference I have ever seen and winter better have use time dilation with a summon I have always wanted to see if that would work
Typically, mortal kombat entrance.
It seems that Ironwood really cared for Winter
Ironwood is such a complex character. He genuinely cares about her deep down, but not enough to stop him from trying to murder her if it means he can accomplish his stupid goal.
Yeah
I always saw it as a father daughter relationship so no surprise
The fact that he not only didn't shoot her the first time he disobeyed him, but was actually still willing to keep her as his second-in-command is a testament to that. He was willing to shoot Marrow *in the back* but gave Winter a second chance.
@@MiyaoMeow588 yeah because Marrow was another soldier aka deposable pawn, compared to Winter whom he has a strong bond with.
At least she can't be hacked anymore for what it's worth.
I was confused when she's like looked the other way, didn't think she might have forgot she couldn't access her floating array.
It's pretty much impossible for Cinder to fall anyway, given that none of the heroes are strong enough to defeat her and also the fact that Cinder can fly.
Ah, so in a manner of speaking, Neo ended up finishing her fight with Yang on The Train with that blade thrust.
I like the theory about Yang’s semblance affecting her aura level. It really makes sense to me.
I get the feeling that when she is using her semblance, her attack is inverse to her defense. If her attack is ×2, then her defense is ÷2
Yang and live
thinking about it, the only other times i remember yang getting hit while her semblance is active is when adam cut her arm off and when he hit her prosthetic arm, and both times her aura broke almost immediately afterwards. thinking about this + neo's attack, the theory of yang becoming a glass cannon while her semblance is active makes a lot of sense.
Still live
@@ratlesbian5498
Glass cannon...
I may be wrong, but didn't that what Taiyang described Yang’s semblance as well?
I think it's pretty conclusive that Jaque is dead dead. The ground were he stood was smoking rubble.
And on fire.
To all the people who are worried that Yang died, don't worry there is no way in hell she is dead. She is a main character and the writers have said that before the team RWBY goes to Vacuo they will take a detour. That detour is likely at the bottom of the pit where Yang is.
Did they say it would happen this volume?

Like Sun! But more durable like a shadow clone!
I agree! Especially in that zoomed shot of her just looking at all the chaos around her, and it seems they're really pushing that idea of Blake wishing she could be in multiple places at once, so I hope this happens
I really hope that it happens. Can't wait to see what comes next......eeeeeeee.
or maybe make clones that she can trade places with, that way she can participate in both fights and fake them out when needed
I honestly keep forgetting about Pietro and Maria. I'm so curious when they'll show back up. Preflexes honestly would have been super useful in this realm and against Neo.
well thats also the reason that the people who have longer ropes (ren and emerald) were stuck in vacuo
Yeah where did Maria and Pietro go??
@@matthewmccoyd7742 Well some of them had to go ahead and Emerald doesn't have a hunter's license to try and gain trust with and Ren's semblance was pretty critical for securing the arrival point. So if that's the real reason why, they at least grounded it in what makes sense in the narrative.
This sets up Raven's return either in the final or next vol because she defiantly would sense her daughter's "death".

I feel like Yang's Semblance turns her into a berserker, in that she gains a massive boost to her dps, at the sacrifice of temporarily turning herself into a glass cannon.
It's not that though.
Man . . . this episode was a gut punch.
And none of this would have happened had RWBY not flat out betrayed Ironwood.
@@Vigriff this specific situation probably. But sooner or later someone would have died in Neo’s quest for revenge and continued the cycle. Perhaps she might have succeeded have drew Yang or any other member of RWBY toward vengeance continuing it.

well, it does seem strongly likely that all 4 of them fall as it is near coincidence that Yang fell first both in the story and in the opening song, so falling itself doesn't necessarily means they die, the same way, Salem doesn't need to die to be defeated. either, there is something way in the bottom, or it is just an endless void and if anything Yang could sleep 8 hours and wake up with aura filled back (even if partially) then boost herself up to the passages that may or may not be empty by then.

They deliberately wasted this whole volume just so they could do that and all we truly got out of this volume as is which we would not have gotten otherwise is a human penny and development for renora im happy we got those im not happy about what they had to do to get there.
Pyrrha: dies
Ruby: AHHHHHHHHH PYRRHAAAAAAA
Yang:is most likely dead
Ruby:Yang?
TBF, Ruby was definitely hella stunned.
Disbelief. The actual idea that someone so significant could die in a second is strange, especially for ruby is imagine
Also Ruby didn't have much time to process Yang's "death" before Neo started attacking her
YOOOO Ruby didn't even cry but Blake did ? I'm soooo confused rn
Idk if the writter did that scene for bumblebee fans because it seemed like it because lowkey wiess didn't even break down either ! And it as like Bruh and everyone fighting without too much worry , sure yang fell but no one is going Nuts out it except... Blake. VOL . 8 = confusion .
@@bluefates58 it doesn't mean ruby couldn't have Gone Beserk on neo because Black processed the death and then went after neo which is also pretty hard.
This volume i have to admit felt a bit tame, considering how they said this half was going to be the darkest yet, I felt there was very little death. I can definitely say they made up for it this episode.
Edit - the fact that when Yang lost her arm it was to throw herself at danger to save Blake, and here Yang falls because she throws herself in front of Ruby, she always loses so much when she protects those she loves 😞
This episode was so scary and excited. I have calmed down after watching some other reviews that are around Yang. I really hope Yang is alive. 😭

Well we never saw Yang fall to her death we only saw her fall. Perhaps Raven finally makes a return and saves Yang or maybe or something else.
@@cornonthecob3051 well let's go with something else, cause yang's too strong to go off like this, like I said, her semblance might evolve to help her get out of that mist for all we know.

So possibly
Skylight here again. I was shocked about Yang but you did call it. So far no one else had fallen off yet but there's still one episode left in the volume
actually a lot of no names fell off when cinder first appeared
@@earth3882 true. I was just talking about the people Phoenix/Night was talking about in his last video
@@PhoenixNight is there a name I can call you? You don't have to use your real name if you don't want to. It's just easier to type out Jaune than Phoenix/Night 😅

Imagine how incredibly awful it would feel to find out your mother was likely taken and turned into a mindless Grimm, and *then* having your sister take a hit for you and fall into the unknown abyss not long after
Yeap I think Ruby's going straight through depression next volume similar to how Yang did in volume 4 but probably even worse
Nice theory👍
As you mentioned, the opening has a connection to Yang falling. I have a feeling she are not dead yet.
who needs team STQW when you have team ZTRQ

Tai
Raven
Qrow
Next Episode: Dual Blades vs. Dual Pistols
Gun Man vs Sword Man.
Gun-gun vs Sword-sword
It's time to du-du-du-du-dududududududuel!!
18:54 I think this scene is Penny realizing she no longer has Floating Array, leading to her making the magic duplicates.
I have a theory about yang falling and disappearing, it might be similar to Thor: ragnarok, where Thor and Loki were pushed out of the bifrost by hela, which sent them to the garbage planet, yang could possibly be sent somewhere random in remnant
I really hope to see Tai save Yang. I mean he cares about her and we don't know what is Tai's semblance.....
Even when she's being smart, Cinder is still an idiot. If she destroys the realm with her attacks she'll be trap with them forever. The single constant about her character baring her selfishness and typical awful self, it's that she ruins everything.
She isn't trying to destroy the realm though.
Watts did roast the hell out of her for the exact same reason you mentioned so
Remember when we thought this was going to be Salem volume, okay whatever.

@@allblazing1160 no but she is one half of a wasp....death to wasps.
@@Adam-yq9xe You people are sick, oh wait, your name... that checks out.
my opinion that Cinder wouldn’t deserve to redemption (but kudos to the artist for Cinder’s outfit design) cuz 1. she’s too obsessed w power (tho she did listen to Watts), 2.
I might still hope for Mercury if he change his though
I’m not sure for Neo but Ruby would reason to her that Roman was eaten by a Grimm and Cinder tricked Neo
Yang fell into RWBYchibi
this made me laugh
I think Yang’s semblance works like sacrificing aura for power. Her anger is what actives it usually but to gain that power she needs to give up some of that defense. Like trading in defense for offense
The only way that I can see Yang coming back is Raven opening a portal to her. It could lead up to some great dialogue and a lot of tears
Edit: I did not wait before commenting this lol
Unless it's stated in the companion book (but I don't have it >
I know for a fact that Yang isn't really dead lol. Its just another fake out like with Weiss in Volume 5.

I really thought that Blake’s semblance was gonna evolve while she was watching yang fall and somehow save her
ME TOO I thought that she would make a stronger version of her shadows when she watched and dying, maybe later when she fought neo, probably spamming an exaggerated amount of shadows or making the "alive" being able to move and confuse her enemies, similar to sun's semblance
Yang falling really shocked me. I really didn't think they were going to do that. And seeing Blake and Ruby's reaction broke my heart
I have to say, that last question to Jinn was very anti climactic and sad.

I heard about someone saying that RWBY will all fall like in the intro not just Yang I thought I saw Yang’s aura or something disintegrate at the end tho so she might be dead tho I doubt it
But yang's aura dessintegrated earlier when she bounced off of the platform. I think that's the golden bubbles of the water we see in the opening.
Also, birds of a feather will be cannon, and maybe vine and Harriet will be cannon as well
Volume 9 is a detour volume, so most likely all over team rwby will fall
@@zackrose6261 is that what they said
I want yang to be save in vol 8 ep 14
I really enjoy your episode discussions! It's a bit odd to say, but the change in pace to something more analytical that isn't other content creators bashing the writers/screaming about how the scenes aren't perfect/cliche is quite nice to hear.
There's a focus on the plot and discussion about the characters - and not so much on the flaws of the creators.
Calling it now, Blake and Ruby are going to take down Neo, without too much trouble.
With how this shows written i wouldn't doubt it
Another note: If yang doesn’t die physically, a part of what makes her yang would still die if we’re going with the theory that the “The girl who fell through the world” story was direct foreshadowing.
Why does everybody think this is some time travel thing? This has nothing to do with time. At best they've implied other dimensions.
I guess Neo was too fixated on killing Ruby that she couldn't even stop and think on considering using the question for herself.
We do know what happened to Roman he was eating by a Grimm.
Hopefully they aren't burying their gays.
I believe that yang didn’t disappear, since in the opening it showed them falling in a water like substance and compared to the vaults you can see a Mirage that looks like a liquid on the ‘walls’
....okay hearing Yang falling into the abyss is making me think of something....strange, something along the lines of a polar opposite called Ying?
Yin & Yang, yes.

(At 14:05) I wonder if _THIS_ will push Whitley over the edge, just like his older sisters were?
The timing on Cinder asking about team RWBY+'s plans is crazy. They only had an hour to make the plan and act already, and Cinder had to have asked after they finished coming up with it and have her group make and execute their plans.
