*Thanks brother, great demo & playing, it's hard to find metalheads on youtube demoing a pedal so it's hard to know if I will actually like it, they are both the same, the TS9DX is just an updated version with extras, thanks again. Metal till the end.*
i thought i was crazy because i couldn’t tell a difference between the two pedals. i guess im in good company after hearing the end and reading comments. keep up the good work!
Great comparison! I would argue that the DX is slightly more compressed, but it's almost barely noticeable. I would think the DX should "win" (you really can't lose with either of them) because of the extra modes available. Your playing is awesome as well. You just gained another subscriber. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to comment my friend! You are definitely right they are both awesome, take care and thank you again for the sub! 🤘🤘
Well done! They sound identical enough to me. The circuits should be exactly the same when the DX is in TS9 mode, as can clearly be confirmed by listening. That said, you could compare several regular TS9s, made one right after the other, and there can still be minor differences due to tolerances on parts, especially on the pots, but that would be resolved just by placing the knobs in ever so slightly different positions. Thanks, and subscribed!
Thanks man and yep very true! I’ve had the same happen with other gear where it’s the exact same piece of equipment yet sounds slightly different and need minor adjustments! I’m glad you enjoyed the video thank you for the sub my friend! 🤘
You're the first one I seen who plays heavier and uses these pedals to tighten up high gain playing the way I do. I was wondering about the TS9DX and you're right. It's not worth buying it since they are so dang close. I'll just stick with the TS9.
Glad you agree bro! Only reason I have the DX is cause I got it first and a buddy of mine let me borrow his TS9. Thanks for your comment and keep on jammin 🤘
Awesome video and great playing! They both sounded very similar to me. The mid range sounded a little better on the DX but very hard to tell. I think I am going to try and get my hands on a DX only because the extra modes that are available. Thank you!
Great vid, sir. I gave it a like even before it got to the guitarmony section. Thanks for including that. To my ears, the guitarmony parts sounded pretty much identical, but the DX sounded just a BIT more clearer on the rhythm chugs. Would love to hear a comparison between the DX's TS9 & + modes. I'm assuming the Hot and Turbo modes would just have way too much low end to even bother with, no?
Yeah I have a seperate video where I cover all the modes and you are right, I like the TS9 and plus modes as the hot and turbo do have that extra low end. But it’s always nice to have that extra flavor if you ever need to change it up
Hi! Que equipamiento usaste para grabar el sonido? Estabas conectado a amplificador? Está excelente El sonido de la comparación.Gracias. Saludos desde Argentina.
Hey man, great video. But I would suggest you add your *signal-chain* that you used for the playthrough. Seems like you're using a DAW/plugin (?) so that means you're using an audio interface I guess? Some of us viewers are always particular about what recording signal is used haha.
I like your analysis! Everyone agrees in how close it sounds, I think maybe it changes due to our different listening sources? (Headphones, car speakers, studio speakers etc…) thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate your input 🤘🤘
The guitar is amazing, it was my first big purchase and my main guitar! I think this one has the EMGs in it the 85 and I forgot what the other pickup was.
I don’t have that amp but I’d say try it! You can always buy it at guitar center and if you don’t like it return it and get your money back lol honestly I’m sure it would sound good cause Marshall amps always sound good with OD!
Yep it’s got more of a range if you ever decide to change up the tone more, not only that but I think it sounds really similar when you set it to the TS9 setting 🔥 I’m glad this video helped you! Have fun tearing it up with the pedal you choose to get 🤘
Everything is okay my guy just started working on other things and maybe one day I'll jump back on making vids. Thanks for asking and I hope you're doing well too! \m/
@@empmusic8312 koo beans.....price wise it's a better deal I have both pedals and I keep going back to the boss.....im happy with both but I prefer the boss

Thanks man I really appreciate the comment! Yeah I have found that it’s hard to find people demoing pedals for our genre too. Long live metal! 🤘

I actually have 2 of the TS9DX pedals o don’t have a TS9 to compare to. You are right - both sound identical. Great video!

Thanks for this video. Now I have the DX made in Japan, very happy for boost my ampli and combination with RAT 2 distortion.
I’m glad the video helped! They are both awesome pedals and made very well!
the DX more clear midrange, nice

Hola mi amigo! Si me acuerdo bien use Bias Amp 2 que es un simulador de amplificadores!

Yeah man of course I’ll make sure to do that! For this I basically just went from my guitar- TS pedal- Interface and then into bias amp 2 🤘
That T shirt got me
Haha glad you liked it! 😝
To me the DX sounded like it had a teeny bit more treble to it and ever so slightly less mids. *very* close though.

the overgay? 0:07 haha
Is that the Kirk Hammett ESP LTD? How is the action and neck on it?. The EMG Bone Breakers sound good

nice work bru
Thank you!
Good luck to your videos.
Nice video, even i like classic rock.
Thank you so much I appreciate it!
Would you recommend this pedal through a Marshall atv 150 head

nice comparison
Thank you Jim!
What string gauge did you use? And what tuning?
Either 10/46 or 11/49 and I’m sure I was tuned standard for this video
Ts9dx awesome pedal
I was trying to decide which to buy. Found your vid. You made up my mind. I can have a pedal with 4x more options for $20 more bucks?
Yep it’s got more of a range if you ever decide to change up the tone more, not only that but I think it sounds really similar when you set it to the TS9 setting 🔥 I’m glad this video helped you! Have fun tearing it up with the pedal you choose to get 🤘
Shame to see you stop posting. Hope you're ok and doing fine bro
