    This seems like something that should be patented!

    Awesome. You should mass produce these and sell them.

    Best one yet! Easily gives uniform spacing and works with any size stamps. I'll be making one....thanks.

    I didn't see it in other comments... I was thinking that you could use just the top part, with magnets, to work on Ferrous metals, and double-side tape to attach to anything non-magnetic, so that you could put lettering on any size material, at an arbitrary location... probably want to use a carpenter's or combination square for locating the jig on larger pieces... otherwise, very nice, very simple!
    I guess that you could add movement in the 'Y direction, as well, for multi-line spacing without moving the base.

    nice job. I remember watching blondie hacks one but I think this is nice simple design with more control

      Thank you for the words. Blondie hacks one is a really gorgeous piece of precision but I think it only fits one size of punches or a limited range of sizes. With this one I can use those that I want with the desired spacing.

    excellent idea, I very much like the simplicity of the design and that it is adjustable via number of turns. will definitely build this. thanks for sharing.

    This is the best JIG I have seen so far. Thank you for sharing.
    May I ask? What dimension is the L iron profile you are using? 25 x 25 mm or 30 x 30 mm ??

    I'm surprised you can get anything done with all that racket in the background. I would be playing angrybirds in no time.

    Would you sell this jig? At least the part with the threads in it. (I don't weld)

  • @JeffreyJamesMusic

    This is great. Did you weld all the black pieces? I’d love to make it but no welder 😂

  • @sextongeo
    @sextongeo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great design. I know how to buy all the parts except for two shapes in the top, lets call them the box and the slider. Are they available off-the-shelf, or did you have to weld or otherwise make them?

    • @ivznh
      @ivznh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming that you are talking about the piece that makes the punches advance. If so, it is a flat bar (~5 - 1 cm) in which I cut a groove/slot with with the angle grinder with the same width as the L shaped part. Then I welded to small plates so that when you rotate the threaded rod the slotted part advances smoothly.

    I´m waiting for someone to come up with a jig I can use while stamping Numbers and Letters into car Chassis.

    • @ivznh
      @ivznh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's a flat surface, you can just use the top part clamped in some way to stamp the letter. The L bottom part is just to secure it on the vise.

      Maybe strong magnets could help.

    • @ivznh
      @ivznh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blubbietweeduizend Yes, I think tha magnets will work, particularly in an environment clear of metal chips.
