- This video shows the viscosity and flow characteristics of correctly hydrated Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) Solutions at a range of concentrations up to 3%.
All samples were dispersed and hydrated using a Silverson High Shear Laboratory mixer. Results will vary according to the type and grade of CMC used.
Higher concentration can be achieved depending on the ingredient type.
Silverson Machines offer equipment for high viscosity mixes from Laboratory scale up to full production.

These very useful brother!
thank you so much.
Thank-you. I'm shopping for surfactants, and was wondering how much I might need. This helped a lot.
thank you so much
Very useful. Thanks
Very Good
How much water did you used for 1%?
If using 1000ml of water, to create the 1% solution we would have used 10g of CMC.
Oh corto pero interesante. Yo la uso al 1.5% en serums
if it was a toy slime i would want to play with it lul
Como me puedo contactar con ustedes. Saludos.

What should I do to avoid lumping of cmc in liquid detergent production?
High Shear can help to avoid CMC agglomerating, you can see an example of this in our how to video here: th-cam.com/video/7W2pEx0_qKg/w-d-xo.html
What temperature were these mixtures prepared at?
These were mixed at ambient temperature.
At which applications is hydrated Carboxymethyl Cellulose used?
In food can be used as a thickening and stabilising agent in beverages, cheese, ice cream, sauces, baked goods and frozen desserts. It is also used as a tablet binder and can be found in toothpaste and drilling muds.
