    Thanks for the video. Big help. I just installed this same pad (10810) on my new Nova with the plastic stock. Just wanted to mention that your method of installing the adapter didn't work on mine. I had to install it first by itself. I got it in place sideways and then used a screwdriver to lever the one side up in place. It snapped in very tightly. I then attached the pad with the screws. Just thought I'd mention in case someone else is putting one on a Nova. I also goggled how to remove the OE pad. I latter found out it tells you in the manual if I had just read it first. LOL

    Thanks for the video. I've replaced the recoil pad on my SuperVinci once already after it crumbled (the SBE2 pads fit the Vincis also). Now the 2nd pad is falling apart. Just a cost of business from years of hard waterfowl hunting in a lot of mud. I'm going to try this LimbSaver, mainly due to the fact it is $35 vs. 90-110 for the OE Benelli part.

    • @strixoutdoors

      Yup, I know exactly what you mean. Stock pad on my fell apart and so did the check pad now.. can't find a replacement cheek pad in stock anywhere.

    Thanks for making this review. I wouldn't really think to replace my recoil pad but since the original recoil pad on my SBE 3 actually fell off while hunting I don't have a choice. Didn't even have the gun for a year... I'm going to just go ahead and order the Limbsaver pad until Benelli gets my replacement pad to me. They said it might be a few weeks but some parts take a few months...

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's really strange that the original fell off. Yes, I think Benelli is very behind. The SBE2 pad will actually fit the SBE3 as well although it's not meant to.

    • @BrickField88
      @BrickField88 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@strixoutdoors I found a lot of forums online that said the SBE 2 had issues with the pad falling off. If it's the same design I'm surprised Benelli's engineers didn't try an improved assembly for the SBE 3.

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The montefeltro has a wood stock right? It may be a different model than the one I show in this video. Have you had one turn to goo? I am a little worries about the longevity of this soft rubber.

    • @usmc249
      @usmc249 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the 12g monti with a synthetic stock, the limbsaver I have did not fit, it might be different than the SBE stock. Limbsaver does not make one that fits The Monti specifically I have had one turn to goo after about 5 years. LS replaced it and said it was a bad batch. They really reduce recoil.

    Does this work for a Beretta A400 Xtreme?

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. You'll have to check the website to see if they have a model for the A400 Xtreme. The pad will help a bit but the specific loads will have a bigger affect on the recoil from shooting. Generally speaking, the A400 Xtreme with the Kick Off should have less recoil than the SBE3

    Hi Strix. I'm in TX too and own the exact same gun as you (12 gauge, 26" SBE 3, in Camo). I know that you just got this video up, but after you get some shells through the gun, do you think you could write more in detail about how the stock stock compares with the LimbSaver AirTech stock? It's extremely hard to find first-hand comparisons, so the more detail you can provide, the better. I am wondering if it's actually worth it because the SBE 3 already had such little recoil for a 12 gauge).

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi lm2bz2p345! Sweet that you have the same gun. How are you liking yours? I actually filmed this video several months ago... it just took me a little while to get it posted. I've run a few hundred shells through the gun with the AirTech so far. I probably need to swap back to the stock recoil pad for comparison and I can provide an update in this comment or make a video of it. The primary reason I "upgraded" to the AirTech was actually for the LOP, and I figured a little less felt recoil with duck loads wouldn't be so bad. The AirTech pad did increase the LOP by just a bit which is what I was looking for and it was way less than paying for the longer LOP Benelli pad for the SBE3. Stay tuned to the channel and I'll provide an update comparing the 2. If you decide to give the LimbSaver a shot click on the link in the video description to order it... by doing so you'll help support my channel. 👍

    • @Im2bz2p345
      @Im2bz2p345 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Strix. Lovin' the SBE3 so far, although I've only used it for a few dove/quail hunts last season. I have yet to venture into ducks, but that's where I am sure it will really shine. Definitely please let me know if you could respond or put up a video on the comparisons (especially if you can swamp them out and write some details). I don't have issue with LOP but I'm wondering how effective it is vs stock on recoil reduction - which will especially be important with duck loads and having to shoot a lot.

    I have a sbe 3 turkey gun. Kicks so bad and the butt pad isn’t soft. I wonder if this one fits the sbe 3 turkey gun?

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would guess that it would. I'm not sure of the differences in the regular SBE3 to the turkey version but I would bet the stock is the same. It's worth a shot, it's not too expensive. Unfortunately, the inertia guns are just not as good for taming recoil as the gas operated ones. The good news is that you don't generally take many shots with a turkey load and the kick is always worse when you're patterning/bench shooting.

    Hey strix, i kove your videos mate, your not a bad shot at all. I have a question, after you have replaced your stock buttpad with the limbsaver, can you still pull the butpad off without unscrewing it? Cheers

  • @AmericanArmsChannel
    @AmericanArmsChannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So Strix, do you think the Limbsaver makes enough of a difference on a shotgun that already recoils so little to be a no brainer addition to the SBE 3?

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey AAC! It was a no brainer for me mostly because I wanted to get a little longer LOP which I did get from this pad. $30 vs $100 for the longer Benelli pad. I need to do some side/side shooting with 3" and larger loads to see how much of a difference it makes. I don't think you'll notice much (if any difference) on 1oz or 1-1/8oz loads.

    • @AmericanArmsChannel
      @AmericanArmsChannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strix Outdoors I hear ya. I was intrigued by the Limbsaver myself but had no clue if it was going to be something I would enjoy. I will enjoy hearing your opinion and report on how it performs with the heavy loads.
      If you are looking for a REALLY heavy 3” Load to try it out on for comparison reasons, pick up some Fiocchi Hunting Loads 3” 1-3/4oz 1330 FPS. They come 25/box for $13 to $16 and kick more than any 3-1/2” duck/goose load I have tried. I have a lot of fun with them and they actually pattern pretty well. Item code: 123HV5
      Also, I got myself the Briley Extended Charging Handle and it makes a world of difference! Thanks for recommending it!

      Is the plate the same as in this SBE3? I assume it is. It's tricky for sure. One option is to get a hair clog removal device from your hardware store. It's the one with the push trigger and little 3-4 tiny prongs that stick out of the end. It's pretty handy for things like this too.
