Maybe on a finished Hard mode's Genocide route in which Asgore finds out that his biological son and adoptive child are alive again? And in which we then *murder* them both! **evil laugh**
Yeah people tend to forget that Asgore and Toriel I should add (because her stats are the same as Asgore's) are actually pretty fucking strong. I almost agree with everything but there are dialogues passages in the game that confirm that Undyne has been having problems with excessive violence since she was a child, Asgore supported this side oh hers making it stronger but he didn't made her be like that, as Undyne aknowledges herself Papyrus could never be a member of the royal guard because he's too good for his own good, but Undyne, she was already too violent even before the training and that's why Asgore concludes she would be perfect for the guard, I'm not saying Asgore is some kind of angel but I don't think he should take the blame for Undyne's destructive personality
Also Alphys problem's with anxiety and the inability to pass throught social situations didn't begin only with her experiments accidents, she was already anxious and shy as a kid as Catty tells us in her store, This events just made this inability even bigger because "shyness" is something that has always been in her as it is common for people with high QI (as I assume Alphys is) to have struggles with low QE (that is about "emotional intelligence") so she has always been emotionally damaged)

When you think about it, you can pretty much make an undertale villain with all of this info. Humans. Yes, humans are ultimately the villains of undertale. Had they treated monsters with kindness instead of pain, war, and violence, this wouldn't have happened. The death of chara and asriel pushes the pain further. Nothing good came from humans. They made asgore violent, making toriel leave him, for asgore to train undyne in violence. They made him command alphys to experiment with determination, AND SO ON. Sans has lost hope because he thinks he won't be able to be free (also caused by humans) and papyrus is lonely because his only companion (sans) has given up, leaving him practically all alone. All of this is wiped away when they see the true good in humans, all from one saint of a human. Who is this human, you ask? Well, frisk of course! Frisk was their savior. Frisk showed them an example of the good in a human's heart. In their eyes, he has power, but uses it for good, and to make the right choice(s). This power is his determination, and his ability to reset/save. He is god, in their eyes. He fights without fighting. He does the exact OPPOSITE of what monsters would expect from a human. They also think of humans this way because of - well, yeah, you guessed it; humans. Now it is clear. Humans were horrible to monsters, causing violence and sinful acts to spread across the underground, but they were shown that not all humans are bad, and that the world's rules can change. It was all frisk. Frisk showed napstablook that people can be nice. Frisk showed toriel that he was strong, and that he and his kindness would and can save lives. Frisk made it so papyrus wasn't lonely. Frisk became the big thing that sans could believe in. Frisk showed undyne that not all humans are heartless. Frisk boosted mettaton's spirit. Frisk showed asgore that there is always a better way to resolve a conflict than fighting with violence. Frisk tought asriel that love is true, and that even those who have sinned and hurt so many things can be forgiven. Frisk freed all monsters. Frisk acted as a pillar of hope, filling every monster in the underground with determination. Frisk saved their world. Frisk is a hero. Frisk is someone who can truly be trusted. Frisk is hope. Frisk is light. Frisk is god. Frisk is peace. Frisk is truth. Frisk is bravery. Frisk is integrity. Frisk is patience. Frisk is kindness. Frisk is justice. Frisk is perseverance. you wrote an essay that nobody else except me read, well done. also, frisk reset many times, causing the monsters that remembered them pain, so. also, do you really think humans really accepted monsters, they did lock them up under a mountain for a reason. they likely won't be like 'well okay, that didn't work. i guess we will just have to deal with it' i would say no. but yeah, it is a nice thought to think that they were truly free.
actually, the whole reason monsters were banished from the outworld (our domain) was because they wanted it for themselves, thus creating a war between the two
sigh, Chara is the Cannon Name of that character. just like in FF7 you can rename the characters to what ever you want when you find them but there cannon name is displayed before you change it. same goes for Chara.
A thought on Papyrus: Undyne mentions she's teaching him how to cook because she already knows he's not fit to be a guard. This could be considered an act of friendship. To me, Papyrus isn't lonely, he's just not able to see what he has and where his boundaries lie. He has this dream of himself being a warrior and hero, something he's not cut for. Undyne and Sane are a big part of the problem. They enable him to be this nice guy he is (he is a typical Nice Guy if they were really as nice as they claim) and to dream about himself as something he isn't. It's Sans who's working two jobs to pay the bills, who finances their lives, who cheers him on and calls him cool. Undyne, too, doesn't have the heart to tell him the truth and make him face reality. He's a big child partly because of his personality, partly because his brother and friend/mentor don't help him to grow up by avoiding to criticize him. Another thought, on Asgor: There's one more thing he has to face, beside losing two children and his wife: The responsibility for a whole kingdom. He shared this responsibility and happiness about his kids with his wife. Suddenly, he has to deal with taking care of all the monsters' needs, safety and his own grief alone. Toriel might come across more caring and loving towards the individual, but what she did was running away from everything, loathing Asgore for the way he tried to deal with the crisis after she left him alone with it. He's, in my opinion, the far more tragic character of the pair. (and before anybody wonders why I'm writing such a long comment for a more than eight months old video, I have one word: procrastinating.)

Ironically, you actually end up inadvertantly solving some of the monster's character flaws in the genocide run too. Papyrus realizes he can appreciate the friends he has instead of obsessing over capturing a human who's a huge jerk anyway, Alphys is forced to open herself up because everyone considered a leader is dropping like flies because of you, Undyne realizes that humans aren't their true enemy anymore (it's you), and Flowey gives up his ambitions to destroy the world and just wishes to be content with chara on the surface.

I think I know why people are thinking sans is dealing with depression. He learned more about the UNDERTALE universe far beyond time it's self and went to a point were he stopped caring because of it so he tells bad jokes and puns to make himself and others feel better cause we do learn that he cares for his brother papyrus and Toriel a lot his depression went on untill frisk and WE the player showed a purpose in life someone to support someone to help him find the light in the pacifist rought and that is the TRUE sans. Toriel is almost like Martha from the book "Closer". Protective to the point where she won't let you leave? Check. Takes in a kid after her own son dies? Check. Lives deep underground her entire life and is finally brought to the surface by new friends? Check. Lives alone after she left her husband and her son dies? Check. I am and will admit that I am fairly insane, but the difference between making a friend in Undertale and making a friend in real life is the complexity. Getting someone to truly trust you or open up is like a maze in which you have to say the exact right thing for the next door to open up.

It's easy to understand why lots of people pronounce it wrong, when a word starts with Ch you normally sound the "Ch." i.e Charlotte, Charcoal. It's not normally silent in the words it's used in, so I think we can be forgiving with people pronouncing it Chara. It wasn't obvious to me and I've seen tons of videos where people say Cha-ra.

He's essentially trapped in this cycle of killing humans due to his actions in the past and his initial desire of revenge for the wrongs committed by the humans. When you think about it, you can pretty much make an undertale villain with all of this info. Humans. Yes, humans are ultimately the villains of undertale. Had they treated monsters with kindness instead of pain, war, and violence, this wouldn't have happened. The death of chara and asriel pushes the pain further. Nothing good came from humans. They made asgore violent, making toriel leave him, for asgore to train undyne in violence. They made him command alphys to experiment with determination, AND SO ON. Sans has lost hope because he thinks he won't be able to be free (also caused by humans) and papyrus is lonely because his only companion (sans) has given up, leaving him practically all alone. All of this is wiped away when they see the true good in humans, all from one saint of a human. Who is this human, you ask? Well, frisk of course! Frisk was their savior. Frisk showed them an example of the good in a human's heart. In their eyes, he has power, but uses it for good, and to make the right choice(s). This power is his determination, and his ability to reset/save. He is god, in their eyes. He fights without fighting. He does the exact OPPOSITE of what monsters would expect from a human. They also think of humans this way because of - well, yeah, you guessed it; humans. Now it is clear. Humans were horrible to monsters, causing violence and sinful acts to spread across the underground, but they were shown that not all humans are bad, and that the world's rules can change. It was all frisk. Frisk showed napstablook that people can be nice. Frisk showed toriel that he was strong, and that he and his kindness would and can save lives. Frisk made it so papyrus wasn't lonely. Frisk became the big thing that sans could believe in. Frisk showed undyne that not all humans are heartless. Frisk boosted mettaton's spirit. Frisk showed asgore that there is always a better way to resolve a conflict than fighting with violence. Frisk tought asriel that love is true, and that even those who have sinned and hurt so many things can be forgiven. Frisk freed all monsters. Frisk acted as a pillar of hope, filling every monster in the underground with determination. Frisk saved their world. Frisk is a hero. Frisk is someone who can truly be trusted. Frisk is hope. Frisk is light. Frisk is god. Frisk is peace. Frisk is truth. Frisk is bravery. Frisk is integrity. Frisk is patience. Frisk is kindness. Frisk is justice. Frisk is perseverance. Frisk...Frisk is...Frisk is determination.
But yeah. This is frisk. This is the deep meaning of your mere pacifist run. I guess you could even say that this is the story of the pacifist frisk that you never knew...
So next time ya walk by someone who looks to be feeling a little down, help 'em out. There is a bit of frisk and his determination within all of us. Don't be like the humans who sealed monsters away, be like the legend who took their hands and lead them to victory and freedom. Put your hands in the air for our good buddy frisk!!

A thought on Papyrus: Undyne mentions she's teaching him how to cook because she already knows he's not fit to be a guard. This could be considered an act of friendship. To me, Papyrus isn't lonely, he's just not able to see what he has and where his boundaries lie. He has this dream of himself being a warrior and hero, something he's not cut for. Undyne and Sane are a big part of the problem. They enable him to be this nice guy he is (he is a typical Nice Guy if they were really as nice as they claim) and to dream about himself as something he isn't. It's Sans who's working two jobs to pay the bills, who finances their lives, who cheers him on and calls him cool. Undyne, too, doesn't have the heart to tell him the truth and make him face reality.
He's a big child partly because of his personality, partly because his brother and friend/mentor don't help him to grow up by avoiding to criticize him.
Another thought, on Asgor: There's one more thing he has to face, beside losing two children and his wife: The responsibility for a whole kingdom. He shared this responsibility and happiness about his kids with his wife. Suddenly, he has to deal with taking care of all the monsters' needs, safety and his own grief alone. Toriel might come across more caring and loving towards the individual, but what she did was running away from everything, loathing Asgore for the way he tried to deal with the crisis after she left him alone with it. He's, in my opinion, the far more tragic character of the pair.
(and before anybody wonders why I'm writing such a long comment for a more than eight months old video, I have one word: procrastinating.)

Ironically, you actually end up inadvertantly solving some of the monster's character flaws in the genocide run too. Papyrus realizes he can appreciate the friends he has instead of obsessing over capturing a human who's a huge jerk anyway, Alphys is forced to open herself up because everyone considered a leader is dropping like flies because of you, Undyne realizes that humans aren't their true enemy anymore (it's you), and Flowey gives up his ambitions to destroy the world and just wishes to be content with chara on the surface.

I think I know why people are thinking sans is dealing with depression. He learned more about the UNDERTALE universe far beyond time it's self and went to a point were he stopped caring because of it so he tells bad jokes and puns to make himself and others feel better cause we do learn that he cares for his brother papyrus and Toriel a lot his depression went on untill frisk and WE the player showed a purpose in life someone to support someone to help him find the light in the pacifist rought and that is the TRUE sans. Toriel is almost like Martha from the book "Closer". Protective to the point where she won't let you leave? Check. Takes in a kid after her own son dies? Check. Lives deep underground her entire life and is finally brought to the surface by new friends? Check. Lives alone after she left her husband and her son dies? Check. Now that I think about it, Martha could be the inspiration for Toriel.

I am and will admit that I am fairly insane, but the difference between making a friend in Undertale and making a friend in real life is the complexity. Getting someone to truly trust you or open up is like a maze in which you have to say the exact right thing for the next door to open up.

ok, if Toby said it then it's right. But I'm sure a lot of people won't have seen this video or heard him say this. It's easy to understand why lots of people pronounce it wrong, when a word starts with Ch you normally sound the "Ch." i.e Charlotte, Charcoal. It's not normally silent in the words it's used in, so I think we can be forgiving with people pronouncing it Chara. It wasn't obvious to me and I've seen tons of videos where people say Cha-ra.

For Asgore, it seemed more like a desire for revenge motivated him initially, and from there he grew to be appalled by the killing, but at that point he had a duty to his people to free them, so he hid in the underground, hoping that another human never came, but when you get there, he reluctantly fights you, in an effort to free his people, even if it means resorting to something that he hated.
He's essentially trapped in this cycle of killing humans due to his actions in the past and his initial desire of revenge for the wrongs committed by the humans.
He doesn't think he deserves compassion after what he did, and is thus shocked when he receives it from the player.
