I don't think they ever got the recognition they deserve lots of dickheads went and got Holdens with 202s under the bonnet all Holden sixes were buckets of shit
The 265 hemi cost Chrysler 50 million to design and build. Holden spent half the money on the holden v8. The 265 craps all over the American slant 6. Can someone tell me why the Americans didn’t use the 265 in their cars?
the six hemi eats the holden v8 up, so was worth the money. i love my valiants, best days where the 1970s 1980s. wasnt many standard engines could touch any of the valiants. 215 was choked, they rode so nice too.
Hi My 265 out of glx is a HP motor and has little caps in top of valve stems before rocker arms are fitted Are these to enable valves to open slightly more not on your demo ??? thanks
Don’t forget Newzealand they won heaps of races .👍🏻💯🇦🇺MOPAR for life .
One of the best engines imo.
This video takes me back 20 years when you built my hemi Mick. It still runs like a dream to this day ! Spiro gold VG
Those 2 top threaded head bolts served another valuable purpose. Engine lifting bracket bolted to them.
Usually builders stagger the rear main seal so the break is off the caps break.
That's what a dab of silicone is for. Theres more than just "your" way.
Thankyou Mick and Sam love the old school engine 265 tough but even better when you here them running with the foot be hind it 😁
Excellent video.
I love these Hemi Six engines.

Americans didn't want 6cyl performance engines, V8s were for performance, 6 was "economy"
Would love to see a holden 202 build?
Were the piston rings clocked?

No assembly lube?
60 thou over Hemis pull hard . Index your plugs.
Did you lay that crank dry?
No, you can see the assembly lube already on it. It's nice bright white.
Another great vid
Cheers guys

When I biult mine i dialed it in
There were different length in Hemi push rod . 🇦🇺
Yes correct..pushrods can vary up to 2mm in length in different engines.. shorter pushrods better when machining heaps of the heads ..
friend uses 318 seals very little mod
