Another great video visiting the past engines. Diagnosis is an art form. It takes many years to master. Many people would be surprised what some noises end up being. I remember the look on a friends face when he started up his VN holden commodore and it sounded like the bottom end had let go. He said the engines gone and I said no go get me a new harmonic balancer. After balancer change there was no more noise and he could smile again.
Ooer Mick with some super 6 action what a treat! Was actually very keen to see his method to get those main caps off and he made it look so easy. Would the water pump grinding away really make a knocking sound?? Great content as usual lads
Nice stickers, make em available oneday ? Great channel and looking forward to see it grow. Those head gaskets looked new, same as the lifter trays. Damn, full rebuild for a faulty water pump. Makes me feel better when I replaced the starter motor when my plugs were wrong.
Interesting vid, but I personally would've spent more time checking for movement in the key areas like big end and mains, side movement of rods etc before rattling them all loose.
My mums car just started a bad knocking sound and I thought engine stuffed. Took it to my mechanic and it was just the water pump. Most people these days like me hear a knock and think bearings and many mechanics will lie and just say full rebuild.
We took these engines for granted, turned out to be one of the best GM engines ever made and us aussies got the best ones.
Until you start racing the heaps of crap. Bad oiling system for high revs. We have buckets of broken bits.
yea but people say they crack heads because of heating issues

Love the content but this guy needs an apprentice.
1. To learn from him
2. To clean the workshop
I will be asking if I can work with him and work out if I should rebuild my ecotec engine or just get into ls1 engines
