    I am 72 years old and taught myself to loom knit using TH-cam videos when I was 65. I love being,able to alternate between crochet, knitting with needles and loom knitting. So glad to see you giving tutorials on loom knitting. By the way, I started knitting with needles at 15 and self taught myself to crochet at age 17.

      Isn't it nice to be able to change off on the type of yarn crafts? My problem is that I end up wanting to start wips all the time.

    I just picked up a knitting loom and went through about 5 tutorials and 5 different methods. Mikey’s is by FAR the best and easiest. I was about ready to give up when I came across this tutorial. Now it is actually fun. I REALLY appreciate that the sections are marked so you can easily go back to a particular part of the project. Thanks!

    Very interesting. I've been looming for many years and have never seen ribbing done in this manner. Purling would be easier and faster for me personally, but I love how the hats turned out and it's always nice to see new ways of doing things.

    I love how you talk us through the steps it makes it so much easier ... And the pen trick is so cool I was having so much trouble trying to hand wrap the yarn I almost gave up. thank you

    Thank you very much for the excellent tutorial. I loved the pen trick. I used a mechanical pencil and it worked perfectly. I saw your video last night. Went to Michael's today and bought the loom set. I watched the video again and made a beautiful hat. Great tutorial for beginners.

    Thank you so much for this demonstration/tutorial. I bought a loom kit a few years ago and the written instructions were so confusing I tossed it in the back of my closet LOL now I’m going to take it out dust it off and use your tutorial which is so easy to follow and makes so much more sense seeing it done, thank you!

    I started my first cowl scarf today on the loom after listening to your instruction. Thank you. If you don't have a Cricut, a steel crochet hook does well and does not break.

    Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I had literally never used a loom before and was easily able to follow along, resulting in a wonderful hat that my adult son claimed on sight .. I'm delighted and now want to make them for everyone .. I didn't do the ribbing though as I don't have a size 6.5 crochet hook, but noted you later said the gauge has already been determined, so am wondering if next time I could just use a smaller one?

    Hi! Thanks for a great video. It was very well demonstrated and explained. I also really appreciate your other smart tips and tricks. Your pen tube idea was genius! Yippee! I was thinking that while we are making the purl stitches, couldn't we grab the loose stitch(es), twist, then put them on the hook and pull it through, rather than pull the stitches through, remove them from the hook, twist them, etc.? Whatcha think? I haven't tried it yet.

    Hello, thank you for making this video, but why do you put your first knot on top peg not on the peg on the side of the loom?

    Where do you place your yarn skeins so that they are not rolling off the table? I am new and have had trouble with that. By the way, you are a great teacher!

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I take the yarn from the centre the ball. If you are doing outside of the ball, put the balls in a salad bowl to prevent it from going all over th eplace.

    Mickey, what is the name of the 4 e wrap per peg loom hat? Thanks

  • @irmar

    Have you tried timing yourself, how long this took you, ,versus doing it with circular needles? I bet with needles it's 4 times faster.

    I am new but learned from a video that put the slip knot on the side peg of the round loom, but I noticed you put yours on the first peg instead. Does it make a difference in the outcome?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see the point of attaching it to the side peg as it's never used.

      If you use it, the project won't collapse to the interior of the ring.
