my insurance agent told me he does this and so I bought me a set and found your video so hopefully I will learn how. I am 74 years old and a beginner. you are a good instructor
This is an *excellent* tutorial! Simple instructions, clearly filmed and edited, and slow without being too slow! That’s an A+ in my book! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. 😊🩷
Thank You for this video. I suffer from PTSD and I can’t tell you how happy I became when I remembered a set of these I bought many years ago and never used. I immediately got some yarn....and I was smiling the whole time. God Bless !! 😊
I’m a beginner and I watched several videos recommend to me. I struggled with the videos and then found yours. You made the process so much more understandable…thank you so much!
omg!! thank you so much for your vid! Not sure if it's just me , but pretty much every other vid I watch for help, just confuses the shit outta me and seems like they are making things so much more difficult! Yours was direct, to the point, easy to understand and pleasant to the ears. Perhaps it was my Adderall....naaah....it was you!! Thanx again!
I'm so happy to have found your channel! Your voice is so soothing; you take your time, as you provide step-by-step instructions; your techniques in this video are precise and make so much sense; the camera angles of your video are sharp and easy to follow. I followed you, as if I was sitting right beside you and made a beautiful multicolored hat for a little girl. You're simply an excellent instructor! Thank you! Please don't ever delete this video!
I learned how to do this a couple of years ago watching several Videos Online. It was a bit confusing because all of them did it a bit differently and I couldn't see up close how they were doing it. I wish I had run across your Video....It woul of been so much easier for me to learn this Craft. Thank you for sharing . You have a natural gift for Teaching. There would be less Drop Outs if Schools employed Teachers like you.
I am so happy I found this station! I have so many Looms but I never learned to use them. Now I have a baby grandson and I can learn to knit him some hats. Yeah!!!
I just want to say , I think you are so sweet. love how you explain, you keep it simple so even a kinder gardener will understand. You have such a beautiful personality I just love your little giggle at the end of a statement. You make me smile no matter what mood I’m in. Thank you for teaching this old Nana how to loom. ❤😘🥰
I had learned how to use a loom about a decade or so ago but hadn't used it a lot and forgot a lot of it, this was so easy to follow along and honestly felt easier than when I learned. I love how you give us options of how to go about it and also the little giggle, it felt like I was sitting with a friend and looming. Made a hat for a friend who helped me out and I won't see for a while since I am moving. Thank you for the video!
You're an absolutely great teacher. So many helpful hints and info for those of us just getting started. (I especially appreciated your comment that "not all weight of 5 yarns are created equally." I thought I was crazy because I made a beautiful hat with a 5 weight yarn in one brand and when I made the same hat using a different yarn, it looked terrible.) I love how you explain the what size hat comes from using which loom. Your patterns are wonderful ... and so are you. Thanks.
OMG....just finished my very first hat. Thank you for your detailed step-by-step instructions. I’m visual person so your “technique speed” is perfect for ME.....thank you! Used the orange 36 peg loom for a teen girl. For my first try, I think hat came out pretty good. I do Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes every year, and these hats will be perfect to include and will be enjoyed by many kids. Tomorrow hitting Michael’s for more yarn......🙂. Keep videos coming!
So glad I found this. I have a loom set that I pushed aside because I couldn’t really figure it out. Your tutorial really cleared things up for me. Can’t wait to get started. It’s my project for the day 🤗
This is one of the best videos I have seen on this. I cannot do a lot because of my iron infusions, and my Epilepsy. I’m 65 but enjoy crafts and you are the first person that went slow enough that I could pick it up and do myself. Thank you for all your time and input on this. Have a Blessed week. Mrs. Debbie Feighner/Fort Wayne, Indiana.
I really loved this video. I've made hats on my loom before but didn't know how to finish it off. Always put a pom pom on them because they didn't close up well. Now with your detailed instructions I no longer have to put one on there. Thank you so much.
One of the best tutorials I've ever followed on TH-cam. My 9 year old granddaughter and I are learning this together. Your calm, perfect cadence instructions, are super easy to follow. Thank you!!
I know what you mean! Every time he laughs that little laugh, I have to laugh, "out loud", as well! I love these tutorials. I just bought a set of circle looms and I'm chomping at the bit to get started. If you see this post, I would love more beginner tutorials, Fiber Spider! You're the best!! Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2021!!! Goodbye to 2020!!! That was a very hard year! Praying that 2021 will be much, much better!!! 🙂
Wow I am so late to this video by 6 years as it is 12/21/2024 today. 😂 I’m so glad I found this channel. I tried to make a loom hat with a kit I bought from Amazon and watching a different person’s video. Let’s just say, it was a disaster because that is the truth. My stitches were three single and two pearl but they were uneven, loose, and quite ugly. After watching your tutorial, I realized the kit I purchased was supplied with very loose and cheap yarn which made my stitches look fluffy and frayed. I bought new yarn based on your recommendation at the beginning of this video and followed your instructions to the point that I now have the rib done. My stitches look fantastic and I cannot believe how quick and easy this is to do. I should have my hat done tomorrow. You gave me so much confidence that I’ll be going to the store for more yarn to make a few more hats. I hope you are still making videos. You are an excellent instructor as I was able to follow along and reproduce the work even though I’m left handed. Many times I cannot follow other videos because I have to learn the steps AND attempt to mirror them. I was able to keep up with you quite well so thank you for creating this tutorial!!!!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for the measurement guides! Easy to follow and your voice is so soothing! I played your video again at I went to bed just to listen and your narration helped me fall asleep. Lololol
You are simply wonderful! So easy to follow and your voice is very relaxing. I think you are the best instructor I have come across on all accounts. You recieve stars in all boxes1
Thanks for explaining this, in a slower tone. I hate to feel rushed. The little tips and tricks are very helpful. I seen other tutorials, but yours is my favorite.
This video has helped me a lot.. I learned how to make hats using the video about 6yrs ago. Every time i want to loom i always come back to this video for a quick reminder on how to do it.. Thank-you for making this video super helpful
Thanks for the tutorial. Unlike other teachers on here, you teach at a much slower pace which makes it easier to keep up, thank you. I have made loom knitted hats before and as I'm making the brim, I slot the tail end inside the brim, saves all that sewing afterwards.
Thank you so much for this video! Years ago (20 or so) I bought looms and enjoyed making hats and scarves, but forgot how to decrease and bind off. Still have the looms and now I have the info to use them again! I really loke your teaching style: calm voice with occasional humor and very clear views of your fingers. Thanks agsin.
Thank you so much for making this so easy to follow. I was beginning to question my intelligence when I found you. The cuff idea is genius. Please keep it coming. If you can explain all the other stitches as clearly as you did this one, I will be an expert in no time.
You make instructions so easy to follow you are an amazing thorough teacher. Just love your videos l made the diamond cable cap and others. I will teach my 5yr old granddaughter this method it is easier for her at this age. She wants to crochet she is very smart. Thanks again. 😊 ❤️🙏
I've made loom toques for all of my patients at work, and make new ones as new people arrive. Staff didn't miss out either! You're right, it's definitely addictive!
Thank you so much for making this video! I can’t tell you how disheartened I was watching video after video for looming hats where they used purl stitches. I thought for sure I would have to use purl stitches (or go peg by peg, rather than going all the way around before bringing the bottom loops over) and I am so relieved I can do it this way! Your hats turned out beautifully and you are great at explaining all the steps! This will be my first attempt trying to loom a hat - I’ve only ever loomed (and crocheted) scarves. Thanks again!😄
Hello I want to thank you for refreshing my memory. I took it down 3 times before I found you. I do use the ink pen casing. The translucent blue Bic Round Stick works rather nicely. I am making my grand daughter a hat and scarf. Thanks again for being a patient wonderful instructor 1000 thumbs up and I am subscribed...
I've seen these looms but passed them up....after watching you, I will probably get a set & make some hats! I'm sure I'll be able to knit a hat because of your instructions. Thank you!
Thank you for the great tutorial about knit looming a hat, your video is actually the only one I have found so far which shows how to make a brim which is what I like. Every other tutorial I have watched had a rolled up brim which is not to my liking. Thanks again!
You're a great teacher, I learned crochet and making projects from you so when I saw the loom knitting tutorials I knew they'd be great. Thank you. Looking forward to more!!
Thank you for this video! My significant other threw away the instructions to my looms and didn't remember which end became the brim /top or how to cast off the stitches! You are so nice and calm so perfect for explaining things! Thanks again!
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your tutorial! I watched several, before finding yours and was frustrated & confused. Your tutorial made it so easy. You were right, this is addictive. I’m now on my 6th hat and ready to try new stitches. I’m on your page today because my mom and sister want to learn because they see how much I love it so far. Thank you!!
You are an excellent teacher. Please make more videos. The only thing I wished you would make it so I can go over astep many times without playing the whole video over
I bought a loom from the dollar store, now I can’t wait to go to Hobby Lobby and buy me a whole loom kit. As a beginner what fun to make these for my family who goes through these hats like crazy. So much easier then I thought. Thankyou so much for expressing yourself clearly so I completely understand. I’ve watched others and either they didn’t show the work or they just kept talking confusing the audience. You simplified this . 🎉❤
I bought these looms but the woman that was going to teach me how to use them moved. Thank you so much for your easy to follow fabulous video!! I would like to see a purl stitch brim as well. Just would be nice to have options! I subscribed so I hopefully won't miss your videos. By the way, I love your quiet little giggle. Thank you so much. I enjoyed watching you. Tammy from Utah.💗
I love your bind off! I've been loom knitting for a few years now and have never heard or thought of this technique. It definitely does make the top less "bunchy"!! 🎉 Thank you so much for teaching me something new! I totally love your video! And for all those jerks who ripped off the pom poms from your hats! 😡 Forget them!!!!! You should wear hats with pom poms ..... they are awesome in my book! Thanks again for the great video! ❤ 🥳
This is only my second loom knitted project , thank you so much I love my hat. I have tried to follow other tutorials but I had a hard time following them , this one though was great and I was able to follow along with no problems . Please , please make more loom knit tutorials , you are a great teacher .
Your video is so much fun and so informative. Thank you. Little tidbit for you. When I was turning in the brim, I put the original tail on the inside and I didn’t have to sew it in later. Just saves another little step. Keep up the great videos.
My daughter learned loom knitting in transition. It, as a result, has made me want to learn! Thank you for putting this out there! Easy to follow, great calming voice and oh so much simpler than I ever thought this would be!
Those little giggles made my day, today. Have to abandon knitting with needles, because my hands and fingers go numb, so am looking for alternatives and also my grandma's old knitting machine will be learned and mastered.
This was an awesome tutorial and I just thoroughly enjoyed your personality as well! I have been painting reborn dolls for over a year and it's hard finding hats for them without having to buy in bulk and getting all these plain boring colors that aren't unique at all. Also those hats can fit looser or tighter depending on whether the dolls have bald or painted hair, or how much hair is rooted into the doll if real hair is chosen. Using your tutorial I can now make my own baby hats! That will help add even more of a personal touch to each of my customer's purchases and make the box openings even more beautiful when I can color coordinate if they have a favorite color/colors. Whether you even see this comment or not...Thank you!
I just bought the smaller set of looms for my 10 year old granddaughter. I thought i'd try it out and made 2 hats. It was a blast and enjoyed your easy to follow directions. I have to say it's the easiest and most informative video out there. I knit and crochet hats for the hospital and this is faster so I can donate twice as many. PS: Cant wait until she opens her gift tomorrow. I even bought myself a second pick tool so we can knit together.
Hello 👋 I remember when I was a kid , my sister gave me a knitting Jenny for Christmas and I was thrilled. I made do many scarves. I had a craft shop near my house and would by my yarn there. Sanford yarn's was a place I loved to visit. I use to save up my money and buy my yarn. Back then yarn was pretty economical. Okay so I'm showing my age of 57. LOL 😂 Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thank you so much for being THE BEST HAT LOOM KNITTER TUTORIAL EVER!!! I patiently watched a million other yawnsville tutorials in order to gain knowledge, but they didn't even put across the techniques comprehensively enough for dum dum me in the end!!! You taught me how to make a HAT - pure and simple. Not only that, you did so entertainingly, that I think I would enjoy the video, even if I wasn't so desperate to learn. Thank you, thank you again for sharing the JOY of knitting on a loom with no complications!! :-) :-) :-) XXXX
Thank you for using actual viewable samples of what you've made (your beanies) so that we can see the actual sizes instead of imagining what you meant. For that reason I'm giving you a like. +I like your soothing voice, it brings me calm and I really appreciate that .
You were a blessing to me today. My granddaughter got me a set of these thinking I knew how to use them evidently lol. I crochet all the time. So, I thought I know TH-cam has to have a tutorial on this. And sugar here you are. Omg. Ty so much for all the info. I saved this to my files I’ll be making my Granddaughter the first hat. LoL. I hope I learn this quick.
How are you liking it? I'm thinking of just getting the Addi Express and bypassing these bc I like using smaller yarn and you can make a whole 2 ply hat in an hour. I dunno i'm having mixed feelings lol
@@ClaireNicole33 I'm TOTALLY having mixed feelings, it's not as enjoyable as crocheting....lol I made two pretty cool hats, but it took twice as long as if I had crocheted them.....even though its pretty cool having made something with a knit look!!!!. I've never even seen an addi, so I wouldn't have any opinion on it. But if you like it let me know...I didn't know you could use thinner yarn....hmmmmm
Yeah I figured it would take forever and I love crocheting too♡ The Roving Nomad channel has a great video video from 3 months ago titled something like this "Shenandoah hat Addi ........... I can't remember lol and I just went back twice to see. Everything is time stamped in the description but I watched the whole thing lol I was that amazed. I've seen others that make hats for donating that use the addi machine bcuz they say it only takes about an hour to complete one... I think i'll get one of these. Thank you for your reply♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
You're an expert teacher. My 7YO daughter and I were able to successfully make our first hats from your video. I wish everyone showed the stitches and explained things as clearly as you do.
Ok you are a great teacher! Easy to follow, easy to understand and a great, calm voice to listen to! Thank you for including size guidelines. I’m hitting subscribe!
This was the first time that I ever used my loom. I have had it for yrs. but no instruction. This tutorial was excellent!! Made my first of many loomed hats. THANK YOU!
I love your style! I’ve watched many loom knitters and I love your videos. Your voice is soothing! I do like using a pen cylinder to wrap, it’s a bit faster. I also hate pearl stitches! 😝 Keep up the great videos! Thank you!
Thank you, I have just ordered my first loom kit, have always hand knitted, thought I would have a change, After watching your video I think I'm ready to go forward.
I'm a crocheter and have been wanting to learn how to knit too. I recently received this loom set from a friend and have been wanting to learn how to use them. Thank you so much for this video, I especially appreciate you showing how to build in the brim!
Love it❤️thank you for this tutorial. I have my round set of looms and didn’t know how to use it. Finally used it and I am so excited! I’m making my first hat. Found your tutorial and can finally understand how to use it. Please continue showing us what we can do with it. 👍🏼👏
I enjoyed the video very much and I do not knit at the time, although I used many many years ago. You have talent in being very precise and informative, clear speaking voice. I particularly enjoyed that you omit many unnecessary words which some people can not help but make turning any tutorial into an encyclopedia search and rescue project if you want the information. Thanks.
This was an excellent tutorial! Can you do more videos for the circle loom? Particularly fixing problems like dropped stitches, and doing different patterns. It'd be nice to have more advanced projects to follow along with.
This look amazing, I am going to make one for winter 😊 I have just learned french "spool" knitting, this looks quite similar, thank you for the instructive video, I will be watching again whilst doing my hat 🙂
I know I'm late finding this video, but i have been watching videos for 2 days and have been so confused after each one. This is amazing! You explain things so clearly and you are easy to follow. I had a smile on my face watching you about 2 seconds in, thank you. I look forward to finding more of your videos soon. Please make more with the looms. I would lo e to know how to do blankets too.
Just got some of these to give my hands and brain something to do. I so appreciate your careful explanations and quiet, calm narration. Thank you for taking the time to create this video.
I love it and yes it would be great if you did more tutorials. I just bought one of my special needs son . He watched me knit or at least attempt to. Crocheting is my first choice. But it is too much for him. This is something he is capable of doing. It would be great to shop for yarn with him also. Please seriously consider do more with the looms. It would be beneficial for many of us. Your talent could take looming to a whole new level.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥳😁👋👋🧓🏻thanks so so much.
Just bought my Loom Kit from Michaels-LOVE your video. I've never heard of loom knitting!.. I'm not the best at knit or crochet (VERY beginner level) don't understand the traditional increase/decrease for hats & stuff. This technique will compliment my traditional knit & crochet scarves with a matching hat. As I said, I'm a Beginner in the traditional knit & crochet methods, but I like to knit or crochet scarves & shawls. Very simple patterns, of course!!
Thank you for showing how to make a hat and making it look so easy. You are a very good teacher and I look forward to seeing more of your videos on loom knitting. Maybe a video on when you make a mistake like skipping a peg and not realizing it until you're back to the start again and you have already met the others.
I did loom knitting alot....and because I did this.....my wrists and fingers have had it. So I tried my hand at crochet. I LOVE it!!! That was 2 years ago....and I'm thrilled.
Thank you so so much for such a beautifully simple DYI follow along video. I watched it then ran to the store to get the looms yesterday and I finished my first ever hat today .

The only thing I wished you would make it so I can go over astep many times without playing the whole video over
Thank you so much for this video! I haven't touched my looms in YEARS but you have inspired me to get them out again!
When I finished my hats it has an area where I start that looks loose. Can you tell me what I may doing wrong. Thanks
@@mollypatterson5819 qqq hi everyone
I really appreciate your instructions very CLEARLY for the beginner to seeing for learning. Thank you very much.
Yes plz do different stitches, brims, and a series
Hello 👋
I remember when I was a kid , my sister gave me a knitting Jenny for Christmas and I was thrilled. I made do many scarves. I had a craft shop near my house and would by my yarn there. Sanford yarn's was a place I loved to visit. I use to save up my money and buy my yarn. Back then yarn was pretty economical. Okay so I'm showing my age of 57. LOL 😂
Thank you for a great tutorial.
I love this tutorial!! You are great at giving such easy, step by step instructions. THANK YOU!
Thanks spider, you've made it better to understand and I love the calm way of your explanation. Keep up the good work
Thank you for using actual viewable samples of what you've made (your beanies) so that we can see the actual sizes instead of imagining what you meant.
This was amazing. I just made my very first baby hat. Thank you for being so thorough.
Your voice is very calming and i enjoy listening to you as well as the fact that you are very clear in your steps and explanations. Thank you
I just bought my first loom, and of course looked to you to help me!!!! Hopefully you have more, so I can get creative with the loom!!!
How are you liking it? I'm thinking of just getting the Addi Express and bypassing these bc I like using smaller yarn and you can make a whole 2 ply hat in an hour. I dunno i'm having mixed feelings lol
@@ClaireNicole33 I'm TOTALLY having mixed feelings, it's not as enjoyable as crocheting....lol
I made two pretty cool hats, but it took twice as long as if I had crocheted them.....even though its pretty cool having made something with a knit look!!!!. I've never even seen an addi, so I wouldn't have any opinion on it. But if you like it let me know...I didn't know you could use thinner yarn....hmmmmm
Yeah I figured it would take forever and I love crocheting too♡
The Roving Nomad channel has a great video video from 3 months ago titled something like this "Shenandoah hat Addi ...........
THANK YOU!
I’ve always made my hats with bunchy tops, never tried a decrease, looks easy. Thanks
I have many Looms gifted by my sister. I've only made one hat. Your videos has motivates me to go back to looming. Thank you for making it easier!
Thank you for such a great video ! I bought a loom kit a few weeks ago, now I feel ready to get started.. Please keep the tutorials coming .
Thank you for this video! I'm legally blind and you have given me hope. You are very descriptive and fun to watch! I am going to give this a shot.
I am a lifelong crocheter and now am knitting. I always thought looming was a one trick pony. I’d love to see a variation of stitches.
I'm a crocheter and have been wanting to learn how to knit too. I recently received this loom set from a friend and have been wanting to learn how to use them. Thank you so much for this video, I especially appreciate you showing how to build in the brim!
Search learn to knit through nursery rime
It'd be nice to have more advanced projects to follow along with.
great video. instructions very clear and slow enough to follow. thank you
Just started and you really got me started, excellent video, hope to see more.
I love you sir. I got this loom set and the infinity blanket loom from a thrift store with out instructions, you are a natural teacher❤
Hi Spider...I pray this finds you and mom doing well. I’m praying quarantine will be over soon.
Just got some of these to give my hands and brain something to do. I so appreciate your careful explanations and quiet, calm narration. Thank you for taking the time to create this video.
I love loom knitting scarves and hats and now gonna learn to use a kb afghan as soon as I find a good tutorial for it.
Great tutorial! You really helped me get going on making my first loom hat. Thanks for all the little tips and tricks!
SOO clear and calm so i could follow it🦽🦽👍
May 4 ME God 🙏 by
I just luv your voice, explanation and instructions. Very comprehensive for a beginner.
I just made my first hat!!! I'm so happy I found this tutorial 💓 thank you 😊
Thank you for showing how to make a hat and making it look so easy. You are a very good teacher and I look forward to seeing more of your videos on loom knitting. Maybe a video on when you make a mistake like skipping a peg and not realizing it until you're back to the start again and you have already met the others.
this was such a pleasure. i love your teaching style. yes i would love to learn more about loom.
I did loom knitting alot....and because I did this.....my wrists and fingers have had it. So I tried my hand at crochet. I LOVE it!!! That was 2 years ago....and I'm thrilled.
Loved the video, I do scarfs on a rectangle loom so this was handy for me 😊
Thank you so so much for such a beautifully simple DYI follow along video. I watched it then ran to the store to get the looms yesterday and I finished my first ever hat today .
Yes can you do more loom knitting projects, would love to learn so I can teach my elderly mom, since it looks easy and she would love it too. Thanks
