  • Type of Round Loom Set used in video → amzn.to/2zMw28u
In this video we are using the Knifty Knitter brand knitting looms, however, any round loom will work. This is the first of a series that will be uploaded.
What you'll need: Standard 4 Ply Yarn and a 36 peg loom for an adult size hat. If your loom is has a few more or fewer pegs than 36 that's ok.

Very happy with your tutorial. You are very calm, no unnecessary dialogue and you have a very pleasant speaking voice. I have made a hat following your tutorial and, even though I say it myself, it has turned out very well. Thank you. By the way I am 88 and doing this for charity as well as keeping my brain active!! Have you a pattern for a tea cosy for loom knitting? An “old” friend has asked me to make one. Margaret

This is the first and only video I’ve seen using a large gauge loom with size 4 yarn. I like the tip of using three loops on the pegs. The hat turned out great. I’ve only been using size 6 yarn on my large gauge loom. I did get a fine gauge loom for size 4 yarn, but now I realise that probably wasn’t necessary. Thanks for the informative video.

I want to thank you for explaining simply about pulling the yarn only part of the way down. When my friend, Mrs. Higgins taught me how to knit, I always pulled the yarn tight figuring I was saving yarn. I have not seen anyone explain the reasons behind not pulling tight or all the way down on the peg. And explaining the flexibility of the yarn was cool. Some of us don't know these things. I love my loom and am so glad I started loom I.

In all the other videos and I do mean all the other videos I've watched on that knitting, they said iif you skip one you have to go back to the one you skipped and start all over from there. You showed me that even though I'm new at doing this I dont have to start over because I made one simple mistake. Now I know I'll be knitting hats for all eleven of my grandchildren. I was scared to even try before this video. Thank you so much.

Great video, very clear and excellent instructions. I want to say here that a square knot, which is the one the instructor says to use, makes a knot that is flat and incorporates beautifully into work. I have been knitting and crocheting for decades, and now hand looming. When using a square knot, you cannot see them and you cannot feel them. It's a personal choice, plain and simple, another option to use versus simply weaving in ends. I like the square knot and use it all of the time because I know that my work is secure. I also must say that it was extremely rude and quite arrogant for a viewer to have called this lovely, well-spoken instructor a 'terrible teacher.' It was an unnecessary and unkind remark to have made. The proof is in the hat... it's great, square knots and all, no bumps!

I thought the video was very well done. I learned of my errors I was making when I first started loom knitting about 7 years ago but lost interest because I couldn't find a class to attend so I could knit with other loom knitters.
God bless, and thank you for taking the time to give easy instructions, and telling us you really can't mess up.

      I like knitting with others.
