Watching your videos reminds me of our wonderful trip to Australia (and New Zealand) many years ago. We normally don't "Love" cities, but we LOVED Sydney so much!!! We were so blessed to be able to spend two weeks in NZ and two weeks in Australia.
I’m following quite a few vloggers on the world cruise and have to say I enjoy yours the most. The detail you go into is second to none. We love cruising and whilst we are sad when our cruise is just about over, you can’t beat coming into Sydney Harbour. I’m a Sydney sider and it never gets old. ❤
Sydney does have a beautiful Harbour. As an Australian I have never heard anyone call it the Sydney bridge. It is the Sydney Harbour bridge. Also Bondi is pronounced Bond-eye. Enjoy your Australian ports. It is a wonderful country.
We enjoyed it so much, we Americans have a tendency to shorten the names of things but you are correct it's the Sydney Harbor bridge. And we'll work on our beach pronunciations as well 🤣🤣🥰
Thank goodness for Jack Mundey and the Green Bans that saved The Rocks! I vaguely remember the protests back in 1973 when the NSW BLF (A workers Union) stepped up to the plate and stopped the redevelopment.
Summer is over for me here. I'm starting back up on your videos. I just love them! Such a nice way to start my day by watching your travels. Thanks again. I see you may be off the ship by now. I hope your transition to land and home goes smoothly.
My husband and I walked across the bridge and loved it! Sydney is a place where you just can’t get enough of it. Loved our Australia and New Zealand trip.
I do not like heights but did climb this bridge in 2016. The guide let me climb right behind her and was very helpful. By the time we climbed all those straight up walls I was actually more relaxed. It was awesome. Great bonding with my sister and brother.
I went to Sydney Australia in the summer of 1995 and they were already preparing for the 2000 Olympics. I remember there was signs everywhere and they were working on some of the locations events would take place. One of my souvenir shirts was the logo for it saying 2000 Olympics Sydney. It felt like it was so far off in the future! Loved every bit of my trip to Australia and New Zealand. Your video brought back some memories and I’d love to go back!
This is my favorite video of your cruise so far, I’ve wanted to go to Australia for a long time and would love to move there to become a carer for injured and sick flying foxes, my favorite animal of all so THANK YOU for showing these beautiful creatures 🦇
Wow! Amazing video once again! Your information, descriptions and your positivity makes me feel like you’re both our own tour guides. Big thank you for taking the time in your wonderful travels to show us all your adventures ❤️
Lovely video & it’s always nice when visitors love our city Sydney. If you ever come back next time you’re at the Sydney Opera House, walk at the back & you will see the resident seal sleeping at bottom of the steps, enjoy the rest of your journey
I’m so glad you loved my home town of Sydney Australia. It made me feel proud. No criticism here but some Ozzie language for you … our bridge is called “Sydney Harbour Bridge” and we say “Mrs MacQuarie said McQw o re” the ‘o’ is said like it’s sound. Hope that makes sense. Our beach is Bondi said Bond and the “I” is said as an 👁️. I love you guys and your accent is great. What you said about Bondi is exactly right. I’m in Canada at the moment and I keep getting there words mixed up 🤦🏼♀️😂. The bats are like pests in some places. Yes we have so many things that can kill you 😂 you both look so happy on the bridge. I can’t wait for your next video.
Thanks, yes the beach name was one we really messed up. Appreciate you watching and enjoy the great white North in Canada. You have a beautiful hometown
Oh please don’t see it as messing up. You don’t live here you’re not meant to know. I love it when people try to say our words and it’s not quite right. You are doing an amazing job with your videos.
I am a young adult in my 20s not far from where are from. I just wanted to say this is one of my favorite channels, and thank you for bringing us along on this amazing journey.
As an Australian I have cruised out of Sydney Harbour a few times, I think I must of taken the sights for granted, next time I cruise (which is soon) I will see it thorough your eyes and enjoy it more! Thanks for sharing your travels, in a world full of difficult news atm it’s a joy to watch your positive attitude towards all your experiences. Happy travels!
What a fun day! My favorite thing about sailing into Sydney other than seeing the Opera House and Harbor Bridge was the scent of eucalyptus in the air. It was a surprise! Thanks for doing these wonderful videos, I know it is a lot of hard work!
Lovely to see your video. Just a small note, adding to what others have mentioned: Sydney has many bridges, so no one calls it the Sydney Bridge, it's the Harbour Bridge for short, or Sydney Harbour Bridge - one of the few things we don't usually shorten, but if Sydneysiders do, it's just The Bridge. In older times, some people affectionately called it The Coathanger. I don't know who told you that story about embarrassment over convict history, it's hard to believe. Anyone I know is very proud, and some boastful, of any convict heritage. It's part of the rebellious heritage/psyche of the country - many of the convicts were actually political dissidents and religious prisoners. Some Australian (Aussie=Ozzie) pronunciation: Macquarie=Mack-wuhh-ree. Bondi=Bond-eye / Bon-die Beach. Centennial=Cen-ten-ee-al Park.
@@livingphase2 The convict cringe is very true. It may be unknown for young Australians but I am almost 69 and it was known as the cultural cringe. A lot of British people would throw our convict heritage in our faces. Botany Bay was synonymous with convicts, penal settlements, even in American shows of the 1950s and 1960s. I remember wishing they would focus on the good things about my hometown. Then as Australia progressed as a decent society and gained a positive reputation, more people became interested in their family history. With the discovery of lost convict ancestors, whose genes had been resilient enough to endure the privations of this open land and to last to the current generation, it became a matter of pride amongst those who could claim First or Second Fleet whether as a convict or as a free settler.
I have been waiting for this video! Thanks so much for visiting my home city and being so enthusiastic and so kind. It was wonderful viewing Sydney through your eyes. I hope you visit again soon. All the best for the rest of the trip 😊
Hello Mike and Nancy.....Awwwww Mike, I can totally see the enjoyment on your face.😁😁😁..I was a little jealous...I wish I was there to climb the bridge.too..I am so happy for both of you that you have a chance to do do this journey together...the smile on your face Mike is just genuine....congratulations on having one of your dreams come e true 😊❤
wow eeeeee...you are in my neck of the woods guys...Aussie land...beauty aint she ??....love the koala with the Aussie flag behind you...had to laugh a few times with the way you pronounced our beautiful spots you visited...soooo funny.....looking forward to the next vid xx
I’m glad you enjoyed the Rocks area. My family had a connection there at 85 George St Nth from 1911. My great grandfather started a business there and the family and extended family lived upstairs. My dad was born there in 1918. Four of his siblings were also born there.
Hi Mike and Nancy! I’m thrilled that you had such a good time in my home town! It’s a beautiful place, and I love living here (although I am yet to climb the harbour bridge). I really hope you do come back!
My sister and I took a land and cruise of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji ten years ago. We did the Outback before the cruise and had a wonderful time with many fabulous memories.
Thanks for your wonderful video! I am an American living in Sydney with my Aussie husband. We are considering doing what you are doing when he retires in about a year, so I stumbled across your videos. I'm glad you are planning to return to Sydney because it is AMAZING. There are so many things to do and see. I would definitely recommend that you take a train up to the Blue Mountains as well-a couple of hours from Sydney in NSW. My husband and I took a trip recently down to Victoria to the Great Ocean Road. It was incredible! Thanks again for all your excellent tips in your other videos.
Hello, so happy you enjoyed your first time in Australia, and that you intend to return! Please don’t be offended, but, as an Aussie and a Sydney- sider , I wanted to help you to “speak Australian like an Aussie” by pointing out that :- Mrs Macquarie is pronounced like a rock “ QUARRY” so, it’s MRS MAC-QUARRY Bondi Beach is pronounced BOND- EYE. ( not Bondee). I am loving your videos, and you are such a lovely couple, I hope you enjoy the rest of your Second Phase adventures! 😊 🐨🌏🇦🇺🦘
Hello again from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺.. I loved your report on Sydney. So glad you enjoyed your visit. Sydney has so much to offer.. You have to come back for a couple of weeks.. I love the Sydney Fish Markets.. Loving your holiday..❤
The bridge looks fabulous and has been a bucket list item for me. Unfortunately I have never been good with ladders and I didn’t know that was a part of it. So I’m glad I got to experience through you! Loving the videos. Thanks!
As a Sydney-sider, it is always interesting the hear the views of visitors. You both have excellent stamina to fit so much into the first day. I suspect it would have exhausted even much younger people. Weather plays a big part in the first impressions of a place and you were fortunate with the timing of your visit. I hope you are not offended if I set you straight on couple of mispronunciations. There is nothing queer about Lachlan Macquarie (the fifth Governor of New South Wales) and his wife. It is pronounced McWarry as in sorry. The other is Bondi, pronounced Bond-eye. As with many place names in Australia, it originates from an aboriginal word. Your mention of Centennial Park brought back long unthought of memories of feeding ducks there, and sailing a model boat in the lake, when I was around five years old. Glad you enjoyed your brief stay.
Proud Aussie here! When you next come to Sydney, plan to head to a few places outside the central CBD. You’ll not regret the beauty in so many other parts of Sydney and surrounds. Glad to see how much you loved home 👏👏👏
It’s lovely to see how much you enjoyed my city. I’ve never sailed in or out of the Harbour on a big ship with views like that. I really enjoyed your sail-in footage.
Thank you so much for putting out these amazing videos I can't travel right now so I have really enjoy seeing the wonderful things you are seeing safe travels
Fabulous video! We did a cruise from Sydney to Auckland for 14 days last year. We are planning to go back to Australia and New Zealand also. We want to spend 3 months in each country. Loved Sydney-I could live there. Yes Australia is trying to kill while New Zealand is trying to heal you-sailors tale.
Welcome to our awesome city, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. That was a great tour and you got an excellent taste of Sydney. If you visit again, I can recomend coming out to western Sydney and see the amazing Blue Mountains where I live. Love your videos guys ❤
Enjoying your videos very much! Thank you. We just moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and there are small flocks of American Ibis. Ours are white with orange beaks. Thanks again!
Thanks for following along with us. Sorry you're cruising days may be over but glad you can live the cruising Life by watching us. We wish you all the best. 🙏🙏
Loved this Vlog of your visit to Sydney. You covered a lot on your visit and agree with you it is the most stunning city to arrive by ship. Living in Australia we cruise in and out of Sydney Harbour a lot, and I must say it is an experience we never tire of. Really hope you do get to return one day. ❤
Hi guys, loving watching your trip around the world. We are Ozzie's from Sydney and just watched your Sydney visit. If we may add a comment about our iconic Harbour Bridge, please call our bridge " The Sydney Harbour Bridge or Harbour Bridge. It sounded really weird hearing just Sydney Bridge. Thankyou. Hope you keep enjoying you trip as we are enjoying your videos. Bless you both, Terry & Lynnette
I live in Sydney and I love how much you loved our city. My husband has to go to Bondi beach (pronounced Bond eye 🙂) a couple of times a week as part of his job, lucky him, it’s certainly an iconic beach but when you come back again hop on a ferry and head to Manly, it’s a beautiful beach fringed with gorgeous Norfolk Island pine trees, there’s lots of great restaurants over there too. We have dozens of beautiful beaches in Sydney. Try and get up to the Blue Mountains too, spectacular views and plenty of walking tracks. You’re right about the convict heritage, it’s pretty much a badge of honour in Australia to be a convict descendent nowadays. Well done climbing the bridge, it’s a goal of ours. Really enjoy your videos and the enthusiasm and joy you have for all of your adventures. Oh and bin chickens (ibis), yuck, they’re everywhere 😏 but I understand the novelty of seeing different animals, we were mesmerised the first time we saw squirrels in Central Park, pretty sure the New Yorkers thought we were crazy 😁
Thank you so much for sharing these great places to visit. We certainly plan to return to Sydney for a longer period of time so your tips are very helpful. Sydney has been one of our favorite places on this trip.😀
So pleased you enjoyed Sydney Beautiful photos taken on Sydney bridge next time in Sydney visit Coogee veach I grew up there also the Blue Mountains area is good ro visit. your vlose and shirt are very Aus lovely
We ended a transpacific cruise in Sydney. We were fortunate to have fiends there whom we met on a cruise and they put us up or 2 nights. Showed us all the areas you visited plus some, had those fish and chips. The next day took us to the Blue Mountains. A magical place Sydney and such friendly people.
Still enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing. We do have Ibis in the USA where I live in FL. Both white and glossy and they do congregate in large roaming flocks. They roam through our neighborhood but can also be commonly seen in 7-11 parking lots, a bit like starlings up north.
One of my favourite books, which was subsequently made into a film in the ‘80s is Ruth Park’s ‘Playing Beatie Bow’. It’s a fantasy story about a girl who time-travels back to the Rocks in the 1800s. It gives you a glimpse of what life may have been like there back then. I named my daughter after the actress who played ‘Abigail’ - Imogen Annesley.
Thanks for letting us know about this film. I would love to see it. Also, thanks for sharing about your daughter. We always love hearing a bit about our viewers!😀
Hope you show us your Christmas tree this year with all the ornaments you are aquiring! 😊
Great idea!
That would be amazing 🎄 !
Watching your videos reminds me of our wonderful trip to Australia (and New Zealand) many years ago. We normally don't "Love" cities, but we LOVED Sydney so much!!! We were so blessed to be able to spend two weeks in NZ and two weeks in Australia.
Oh, you were so fortunate. We look forward to returning and spending more time there as well. It was such a wonderful place.😀

Sailing into Sydney Harbour was incredible! Thank you for your kind words and thanks for following along on our journey.
Fun fact: us Aussies have nicknamed the Ibis the BIN CHICKEN; they're normally raiding the bins around parks and suburban areas, so were thus named 😂
Love the main bin chicken! We saw lots of bin chickens!
I don't care what they've bin, what are they now? 🤣🤣🤣
All hail the BIN CHICKEN lol
I came to look for someone to say bin chicken!! hahaha. Can't believe the tour guide didn't inform them of that.
Sydney does have a beautiful Harbour. As an Australian I have never heard anyone call it the Sydney bridge. It is the Sydney Harbour bridge. Also Bondi is pronounced Bond-eye. Enjoy your Australian ports. It is a wonderful country.

The magic of going somewhere you have always dreamed about. We all have those places in our hearts forever. Love your excitement and enthusiasm.

Its funny...for a little while I "collected" seeing that spider sculpture around the world...I seen the ones in Canada, Spain and Tokyo.
It was quite amazing
This is my favorite video of your cruise so far, I’ve wanted to go to Australia for a long time and would love to move there to become a carer for injured and sick flying foxes, my favorite animal of all so THANK YOU for showing these beautiful creatures 🦇

Thanks, yes the beach name was one we really messed up. Appreciate you watching and enjoy the great white North in Canada. You have a beautiful hometown

Sydney is my favorite city to visit. We spent a total of 4 days there at the beginning of our New Zealand cruise. Love the hop-on hop-off bus
Doing a hop on hop off bus would be so much fun. We look forward to returning and spending more time in Sydney.
My sister and I did the climb last year. We saw a sunset a rainbow and fireworks. Magical!
We saw the sunset and thought it was beautiful, but did not see fireworks. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

What an amazing time in Sydney! Going to Australia is on my bucket list. I've always wanted to go. Thanks for sharing.
You should! It is amazing!
Those bats were terrifying ! Your braver than me 😮.
They carry the deady hendra virus, they are scary because of that. Look it up.
They were quite amazing.
Lovely. I know you were looking forward to the bridge climb and it seems it did not disappoint. ❤
It did not! 😄
Hi Mike and Nancy! I’m thrilled that you had such a good time in my home town! It’s a beautiful place, and I love living here (although I am yet to climb the harbour bridge). I really hope you do come back!
We know we will, Sydney was an amazing city and Australia overall has so much for us to explore
My sister and I took a land and cruise of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji ten years ago. We did the Outback before the cruise and had a wonderful time with many fabulous memories.

We did! 😄
Hello, so happy you enjoyed your first time in Australia, and that you intend to return! Please don’t be offended, but, as an Aussie and a Sydney- sider , I wanted to help you to “speak Australian like an Aussie” by pointing out that :-
Mrs Macquarie is pronounced like a rock “ QUARRY” so, it’s MRS MAC-QUARRY
Bondi Beach is pronounced BOND- EYE. ( not Bondee).
I am loving your videos, and you are such a lovely couple, I hope you enjoy the rest of your Second Phase adventures! 😊 🐨🌏🇦🇺🦘
Yep we've noted those mispronunciations and next time we're in the land of Oz we will make sure we get those right
Amazing. Loved the timeline. My parents loved their visits to Sydney. The visited three times and always says it was one of their favourite places. X
Glad you enjoyed it!

The bridge looks fabulous and has been a bucket list item for me. Unfortunately I have never been good with ladders and I didn’t know that was a part of it. So I’m glad I got to experience through you! Loving the videos. Thanks!
They are very patient and help you along the way. You can do it! 😃

Loved your post on Sydney. I didn’t realize that there was so much history of different kinds. Thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, I live in Sydney and grew up in Bondi. You had a perfect day, and it was exactly what I would have shown a visitor.
That’s nice to hear that we had a good tour. We truthfully were very pleased and had a great time.
It’s lovely to see how much you enjoyed my city. I’ve never sailed in or out of the Harbour on a big ship with views like that. I really enjoyed your sail-in footage.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for following along. You have a very beautiful city

We can't wait till we can get back to each country
Amazing video! I so enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome to our awesome city, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. That was a great tour and you got an excellent taste of Sydney. If you visit again, I can recomend coming out to western Sydney and see the amazing Blue Mountains where I live. Love your videos guys ❤

Another great adventure ,thanks for taking us with you. Have spent a week in Sidney and loved it - so much to do and see.
Glad you enjoyed it. We loved it and can't wait to come back.
I salute you two for climbing that. I’m afraid of height, so…..no thank you! I think that’s the best tender landing of all ports.
We agree!
Great video. ONe of my future destinations for sure!
Ours to
Enjoying your videos very much! Thank you. We just moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and there are small flocks of American Ibis. Ours are white with orange beaks. Thanks again!
Oh wow! Thanks for tuning in
Glad you had a great time. I worked in Sydney in the 80s then moved to Newcastle - so I hope you enjoyed the Hunter too.

Thanks but couldn't do it without Nancy. 😁
Thanks for a beautiful video. I have really enjoyed your world cruise videos. You make it so real and enjoyable. Sydney is a beautiful port.
It really is, one of our most favorite so far
Fun fact! The tiles on the Sydney Opera house are from Höganäs in Sweden!
I did not know that. That's a great fact
Absolutely, Sydney is on our list of places we must return to. The small taste we got was not enough.
Yep you're right, we'll be sure to correct that in the future videos. Thanks a lot for watching you have a beautiful city
What a walk wow good for you - I walked up the WASHINGTON MONUMENT 987 STEPS in heels and a suit “back in the day” in 1967 - took the elevator down
Good for you, we all travel is really about all new experiences no matter how far we may have to walk or how we travel. 😀
Loved watching your video. And I also love Sydney and the rest of Australia as well. Best from the Netherlands
Awesome! Thank you!
Amazing!
Those photos on the bridge are AMAZING! What an experience. Not going to lie, the bats would have freaked me out!
And I just noticed the adorable koala behind you.
They really are like flying foxes. 🦇🦇🦇
@@livingphase2 Yikes!! Lol

Your pictures turned out fabulous !! You should use them as your Christmas cards this year❣️
Nancy here, and I absolutely agree! Christmas cards it is.😀
We ended a transpacific cruise in Sydney. We were fortunate to have fiends there whom we met on a cruise and they put us up or 2 nights. Showed us all the areas you visited plus some, had those fish and chips. The next day took us to the Blue Mountains. A magical place Sydney and such friendly people.
It really is a magical place. We can't wait till we come back
Still enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing. We do have Ibis in the USA where I live in FL. Both white and glossy and they do congregate in large roaming flocks. They roam through our neighborhood but can also be commonly seen in 7-11 parking lots, a bit like starlings up north.
Like they say in Australia bin chickens
One of my favourite books, which was subsequently made into a film in the ‘80s is Ruth Park’s ‘Playing Beatie Bow’. It’s a fantasy story about a girl who time-travels back to the Rocks in the 1800s. It gives you a glimpse of what life may have been like there back then. I named my daughter after the actress who played ‘Abigail’ - Imogen Annesley.
Thanks for letting us know about this film. I would love to see it. Also, thanks for sharing about your daughter. We always love hearing a bit about our viewers!😀
gorgeous water footage !
Many thanks!
