What a perfect day for being in Zermat! The day I was there it was foggy and rainy and we would occasionally get a brief peek of the Matterhorn through the clouds.
Thanks so much. It certainly was a wonderful place for us to get to see. I don’t know if it made the top five but it certainly is in the top 10 for us.
Just breathtaking. I’m wondering if I would have had difficulty with the gondola 🚠 ride. Heights are not always my friend. But the scenery is magnificent!
Hi Mike and Nancy, if you are ever in Switzerland again then make sure you visit Murren. Is fairytale Swiss village come to life. Our favourite place in the world. You could also visit from Lauterbrunnen and take the gondola then cog rail train. Is magical. Zermatt looks wonderful too! Katie
So enjoyed your beautiful and informative video to Zermatt. Clinched my husband and my deciding to go to Switzerland when we go back to Europe. That is a cannot miss! Thank you both! Hope your knees are feeling better since the cortisone Nancy. You look great , love your hair! You do too Mike, don't want you to feel bad lol! Tu again!
Zermatt is an absolutely amazing place to visit, but then, so are many other parts of Switzerland. It’s worth exploring. 1.51 It’s possible to take a regular taxi from Täsch to Zermatt if the connecting road is open (it’s narrow & twisting, and can be blocked by snow or rock slides sometimes). You transfer to an electric taxi at the entrance to the town. It’s pretty expensive, but that’s the norm for taxis in Switzerland anyway… Gondola is pronounced with the emphasis on the “Gond” not the “ola”. We actually call them cable cars more than gondolas here. 13:21 Is it really a German bakery, not Swiss? 13:30 The graveyard is definitely worth visiting. I find it interesting that most of the climbers lost their lives on the descent. What’s especially sad is that some of the graves are for unknown climbers who were found and couldn’t be identified.
Brought back wonderful memories! I can currently see the photo of the Matterhorn that I took and is in our dining room. Loved going to the top of the Klein Matterhorn, no clouds when went went, but that is unusual.
Years ago I hiked to the Schwarzsee and then took the gondola down. I was thinking that I should have done it in the reverse. but hiking up I had great views of the Matterhorn
I expected the price of that the hotel to be outrageous. Absolutely shocked to find that you can get a private room with private bathroom for 290 USD per day in August. That's cheaper than hotels in Boston!
I was an exchange student in Zug Switzerland in 1983. Brings back wonderful memories.
Oh, I bet you had an amazing experience.👍🏻
There are so many kind people around the world. So glad you met one of them. Beautiful place.
Absolutely stunning! Really cool to see the Matterhorn in person.

Thank you so much for sharing this information on Zermat. We appreciated reading it and learning a bit more.👍🏻
On my first trip to Zermatt, we also saw the goats being herded thru the town. It was so interesting
It was just the most precious thing ever
