It’s amazing what are willing to spend on things we want! I see that the Artex R2 is selling for over $2000 on eBay stores! I showed my wife a picture of the rod and asked her how much would she pay for that fishing rod. She said ‘ Maybe, $20.’ Beautiful is certainly in the eyes of the beholder.

Sweet lineup! I bought a okuma xxhvy guide select rod for my soft bait setup w daiwa 300 tatula lefty in 8to1. I've thrown a few glides on it in the 5 to 6 oz size, and I have no ther rods to compare.... I had to start w something right? So now I see how you can get a does everything type rod,or a specific bait and a rod reel combo to maximize the baits potential! Awsome information Geoffrey 👌! Good luck this season 👍

I need a do it all big bait rod. I plan on getting a Tatula or Lexa 300, slowest speed possible. Might even try a Curado 300. Either way, I cannot find a rod. Was just planning on a Lew's 2-10oz Super Duty or the cheaper Daiwa DX Swimbait rods, the XH or H. Just plan to use 20-25lb fluoro or 65lb braid. Want to throw the biggest Keitech's, 6.8 or 7.8 and eventually some true swimbaits when I can save up.

Hi Geoff, what's the concept behind the "spiral guide setting" casting rods as Deps called? Less tangle issues for what I read but does it produce more friction while casting and retrieve or not?

    • @crazybassfisher
