I personally own the Killer Code which is possibly the least talked about P5. I have my own opinions and uses for it. I love it, but I'd really be excited to hear a brief summary of y'all's thoughts on it. Bottom contact vs top water, glide vs maybe a chatterbait... and also what reel and line you'd pair it with. Obviously the p5s are made to be versatile, so it's all subjective... but just curious. Thanks. And appreciate the content.
The only rod I would consider out of the 3 is the Megabass do to the cork, I really just don't like the feel of any kind of foam, especially when it ages and dries out. I am still fishing my 30 year old G-Loomis IMX's and a GL-3. I guess I'm just old and set in my ways with the cork, but nothing cleans up with a toothbrush and some soap like a cork handle, they feel and look new again after some cleaning.....FishOn...jimi
I've been using the same 6' Medium Ugly Stick with a Quantum Snap Shot 30 spin reel since 2005 for all my fishing. Spoons, top water, buzz bait, sticks, ect. From everything to creeks, to lakes.
@@thesonorandesertangler I don't believe it's carbon. It's an SPL1102. It's quite old. It's a 17 year old rod and reel lol. I've caught quite a few fish on this rod. It's not the most sensitive, but I've learned to cope.
Imx 966 throw the Joey shad just fine , also In fl so shad , blue gill are mostly what I’m going to throw. but I do want to get a moby 13oz bait lol 😂.
I would like to request a deep dive into the Megabass siglett baits and rod 😂 I'm slaying them on the grand siglett right now and I feel it's a very under the radar technique.
Love the Mark 56. I was fortunate enough to get one when you guys first got them in. Obviously we know how badass the P5 line is, but this is a special one in that lineup. It throws a magdraft better than any rod I’ve used, it’s equally as good with the DRT TK. I personally won’t push the 3.5 rating, since I have rods for that 4-6oz range, but I’d agree that the rating is dead on
Great video... Great looking rods! Maybe that dead sword may be good for a heavier spinner bait since it's 7'1 with that bend. Love the videos of all the bougie rods and reels.
Okuma Guide Select. They have 3 models that can cover basically all of your swimbait needs (big ones, and bigger ones) for $160. I love mine the action and taper are perfect, light weight, and durable.
The Spro KGB rod is amazing for the money extremely tuff to beat for the price as well as the Megabass Levante leviathan prob hands down for the money all time fav.
I got a tiny klash from you all when you recently got them in stock. Love the bait. I have had 5 bites but only landed 2 of the fish. The 3 that got off were hooked for a bit and then pulled off. I am using the combat stick wake bait rod and 20 lb Floro. I fill like the rod is the problem what are your thoughts? Thanks for the help
There can be so many factors, including how they ate it, how fast/slow you set the hook, how you played them, etc. That’s a good rod, but it doesn’t bend super deep in the blank. You might like it or dislike it as time goes on. I know that probably wasn’t much help, but know losing glide bait fish is part of the grind. Big bait that gets hooked in weird places - it happens.
I got the Valkyrie world expedition, VKC - 78H - 4 from you guys during the winter time, do you think that one would be OK? I haven’t use that rod yet. I just haven’t been able to use it yet, just life gets in the way.
Try it and see if you like it! It can certainly handle the weight. It’s a little too soft for me for the 3-4oz glide stuff, but it’s great for the 1-2oz stuff.
What would be the best way to get a hold of your shop? the hook up website phone number provided does not answer. Just found your videos and they are awesome!
I bought the MK 56, love it! Best rod yet for lighter glides
Excellent insight & updates mate. Great to get the King's input as well. Priceless & educational at the same time. Cowabunga from Australia.
Thank you for watching!
i feel like you made this video for me, i just called the store yesterday to ask about the mark 56 for my new I slides i ordered, love it keep it up
Thank you for your business! Enjoy the Mari 56!!

Lots of people prefer cork. Personal taste is so important in choosing the right rod 🍻👍

Congratulations bro. The ugly stik Carbon rods are decent. The GX2 are pretty whippy, heavy, and not that sensitive.

That’s really cool man. Love to hear when ppls gear has lasted them awhile. Might be a different conversation if you were fishing everyday
I really like these series. I think you guys could get a lot of mileage out of technique specific three bougie, three budget rod videos.
Thank you for the feedback!
I agree that would balance it out really nicely.
Been a huge fan of the daiwa rebellion 7'11" heavy I picked up at your recommendation!!
That’s an amazing stick - and still so under the radar
What about the Megabass p-5 monstrous? Have you guys tried it or heard anything about it? Thanks.
For everyone who wants a budget just go check out Geoff’s channel he has a great video on budget swimbait rods
Just don’t subscribe 😜🍻

That’s such a fun way to catch them!
I love the 7'4 heavy poison adrena for smaller glidebaits and giant squarebills.
That’s a great one!

Yes - dead sword is a great heavier line rod - spinnerbaits would be perfect
pls turn up the jazz next time love you guys
How about part 2 for us people that are balling on a budget
We will absolutely do that 👍
The Daiwa rebellion swimbait rod is a pretty good deal.

Would the dragoon handle the TK for pond hopping?

Hell yeah!!
What do you think about the Valkyrie World Expedition 7'8" heavy for this application?
The 7’11” is better IMHO, but the 7’8” is dope for 1-2oz stuff
For the undertaker, would a 1oz lure be too light for that rod? I was also looking at the Valkyrie heavy + since it’s rated up to 3oz
Valkyrie 7’4” is a dope one! On the undertaker - 1oz is where the magic starts to happen.
@@thehookuptackle_usa Hell yeah thanks for the reply!

Email and IG DM are always the best ways. We’re super active on those platforms.
And one cheaper, who can make the work?
Tequila Baccarac wasn't on the list. That's been my go to for glides since the rods came out.
That’s an excellent choice! 🍻
Put on our radar and save bank 🏦 lol
Yes 😜🍻
Turn down the elevator music in this one, Geoff!
That’s jazz man 💨
