      She keeps convincing me I like models I'd never even consider otherwise. I've looked at similar floorplans before, thinking I might be able to tuck the kids into a queen bed at one end, and eventually go to sleep in the dinette at the other end. The teardrop always seemed "too small" for a family of 6. Since we usually don't travel with the whole family, a smaller camper might work better for our current needs.

    WOW, I just saw this at the RV show and was blown away, everyone was at the airstream booth, but this is the one i wanted to see. I'm so impressed withe the quality and construction of this trailer. I'm 6'3 and felt very comfortable in this trailer. WELL DONE!!! BTW PJ your presentation is just perfect, thank you.

    I've watched so many reviews by others and to be quite honest no one can match the seamless flow and easy to understand detail provided by PJ. After watching this review (and if I had to) I'd happily buy this trailer sight unseen, such is the detail provided by PJ, cheers mate, you're a bloody legend!

    PJ, I don't care what you're selling, I would hire you in a second! You are so detail-oriented in your presentation, straight to the point, and make the product so inviting, and thanks so much for not putting music on your presentation, I get so tired of that in these other videos. Mentioning the price point in a presentation this is very important.

    Just attended an vehicle rally and nuCamp was represented. Had a 400, 320, and cab over camper. Chatting with the reps I learned those small storage areas you pointed out are NOT for storage but are intended to be used as a ladder for anyone climbing into the upper bunk.

      @monicae67 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaosncheckt9356 what about the mattress or cushions for the top bunk? Are the cushions for the dining area used for both the bottom and top beds? I really like this camper but I’m not liking the lack of draws for clothing. I understand this is a camper but when you’re going for longer trips, I’d like to be able to put my clothes away. I also don’t appreciate the kitchen sink and faucet.

    • @chaosncheckt9356
      @chaosncheckt9356 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@monicae67 not sure about the mattress’ for the bunk beds. I suspect they are also used for seating. As for storage, we are just a family of two, so I got the lowest drawer under the two burner range and the storage above the seating on the drivers side. Her highness got the two remaining drawers under the range and the large one under the fridge. Since our long three month trip went through different temps, we each had a medium duffle with extra clothes we kept in our tow vehicle. We still over packed but now have three years and 40k miles on the camper and slimmed down what we carry to just about fit any situation and everything goes into the camper. Of course we do laundry every five or six days.

      They could have closed off the cubbies in the bath with sliders so water would not pool in there. Just a bit more work would have made a large difference. I have always loved these trailers.

  • @arkadventure2
    @arkadventure2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Thank you PJ for an incredible presentation. Your walk throughs are simply the best. And the trailer itself- WOW! At 3200 pounds what sort of tow vehicle would you need? Also, what has put me off trailers is finding enough space to park it on your way to destination, say at a site seeing spot. At 19 feet this trailer isn’t huge, but combined with a tow vehicle, makes me break out into a cold sweat. Appreciate your comments!

  • @chaosncheckt9356
    @chaosncheckt9356 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Interesting but missing a few things. As you may notice, there is no dedicated place to store the sewer hose. We have a 2019 t@b 400 BDL and there is a tube that fits under the bed. Access from the driver's side. Didn't see an option to attach a hose to flush the black tank. The storage compartment on the passenger side at the rear is small. In comparison, our 2019 has a large storage area where we fit three plastic boxes. One filled with electrical cable, etc, second filled with water hoses, filters, etc, and the third holds anything extra - like on long trips will fill it with water bottles. Not sure where you would put those items except on the storage platform on the front I guess. The storage tub on the front is nice, in fact we upgraded to this larger tub and added the platform. Key here is to be aware of the tongue weight, so it's important to avoid overloading this area. I also didn't see the standard DVD/bluetooth Jensen sound system. I would be very interested to know how long you can boon dock if that fridge is only DC powered off the batteries? We have the old three way and recently upgraded to a two lithium battery setup. I like the heavy duty step and SO GLAD nucamp ditched those chinese bomb tires and went with Goodyear. I don't see the spare mounted on this demo model. Not sure if it still holds true, but when we purchased our 2019, the spare was on a steel rim and it was a size smaller than the wheels on the ground. We purchased a aluminum rim from nucamp and mounted a full size spare and and secure it to the top of the tongue. Much easier to get to on the side of the road in a hail storm.

    Minor point, but wet baths scare me. I’ve used an airstream basecamp wet bath, not fun. I’ve seen and stepped in an Oliver’s wet bath, and that seemed just fine. But in your video I have no clue how much foot room you have at the bottom. Being able to move, turn around, reach this hard to reach parts is CRITICAL in a wet bath. If you’re open to hints, show the floor space in a wet bath, pan down, around, nothing extreme, we just want to see if there’s enough room to use it. Great video, cheers!

    The one feature I like was part of the fridge option. If you opted for a smaller fridge it was mounted under the kitchen cabinet and the space that the bigger fridge filled became a hanging closet.
    And as for the air conditioner, someone already pointed out that installing the ac on the floor wasn’t a good idea since cold air sinks and who wants to freeze their legs while eating?
    So maybe in 2024 they could find a way to mount the ac higher up….
    P.J. You were the best part of the video…

    • @chaosncheckt9356
      @chaosncheckt9356 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I "think" in 2020 they tried to mount the a/c coolcat under the bed and that was a fail. We have a 2019 and yep, we have to constantly turn the floor vents to avoid freezing our legs. The other issue is the carbon monoxide detector. It's low on the floor as well and we've learned our Australian Sheppard loves sleeping here because the a/c vent blows on him. Well, if he lays against the CM detector for too long, he sets it off. I wish it were higher, say just under the edge of the seat.

    Thanks for the thorough walk through. I'm a soloist. Whats the dinette like if I remove the bunk entirely? like would there have to be an added structure to make the cushions fit right? (I'm large so extra seat depth isnt a problem, but a big gap at the back would be)

  • @scottelwood8746
    @scottelwood8746 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In my humble opinion I don’t some of the new features. In our 2022 400 we got the smaller fridge and we really like the closet. Don’t care for the sink in the bathroom either. Still I think this is one of the finest RV on the market. The one change I would like to see an outside door up front to access the storage under the front booth. As for the wall don’t care for it just more places to put unless stuff that you have to more before you travel. Great video and review. Thanks

  • @monicae67

    We’re looking at this model but I’m torn between the 320 model and the 400 model. I wanted the separate eating area and like the bathroom of the 400 model better but the 400 model seems tighter. I’m also wondering about the bed. It seems like 3 twin mattresses. What kind of bedding should I be looking for? It isn’t a normal mattress. It isn’t a queen or a king size. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @KarileeT
      @KarileeT ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just in both at a show this weekend! The 320 is soooo much smaller in every way. Much more space in the 400. I could barely fit in the 320 wet bath but in the 400 there was plenty of room. Plus there’s a lot more headroom in the 400 which makes it feel much less cramped.

      I think the industry will go that way, but for the moment propane systems are still much cheaper for manufacturers to build into their products than full electric systems with battery capacities and inverter capacities to power all of our wishes and dreams. In time, it'll get there.
