While uploading to file on kdp, while using the public domain pictures, are we supposed to click “ I own the copyright for this book” or “Public domain”
Another TH-camr going by the name of “Mujahid” basically cloned your video and posted his own 9 days ago, same title same info regurgitated. I hate to see this especially when you put so much work and research into it.

Apple’s new update might help. In photos you click and hold the image you want to keep and then you can drag it into almost any program you want. I know it’ll go into procreate.

I think yes because you can use vector images which can be manipulated more easily and enlarged without degradation of the image. I just find it generally easier to use. I’m sure die hard photoshop fans may disagree.

A question; When you're downloading an copyright free image from the Biodiversity Heritage Library, are you then clicking on "This is a public domain work" when uploading your book to Amazon KDP (the first page of paperback details)? Are you also writing the source of illustration somewhere in the actual book itself somewhere? Thanks for great videos!

I am learning something new with every video you produce and I am grateful! You are a fantastic teacher;-) A couple of questions, if you don't mind...could you have used the public domain image of the butterflies without modification for the cover? If so, would you have had to check the "public domain work" box when uploading the journal to KDP? If you had modified the original butterfly image in another way, perhaps with additional layers of say a frame, a few flowers, a bird image, various overlay's etc. essentially creating a "new" image, would you then "own" the copyright to the new image? I have used canva to create a few covers so far and I didn't know how creative I was !!!! you have amazed me and brought out a side I never knew I had until my imagination took over....great videos....planning to start in new year KDP business just working and trying to get my head around all the software etc....but using it is learning so I am not in a hurry until I feel confident enough but your videos are showing me how....thank you

I worked with Inkscape but some years ago so, excuse me for my (probably stupid) question: is it possible to edit the images on Inkscape and turn them into a vector? (Like you did in Vectorizer)?
I wouldn't recommend using flikr for images. I've had images stolen and uploaded to there in the past. It's an increasingly difficult platform to police as anyone can upload to there. It could be a very expensive lesson to learn.

That question refers to the interior, so I normally put I own the copyright.

No. You just hold down the left button of the mouse and drag.

The public domain box refers to the interior content. You may own the copyright if it is a derivative work I guess.
